Day 1
First thing I would recommend doing if you're following this guide is to skip the in-game tutorial by holding down "T". The tutorial isn't all that great so I will walk you through all of the mechanics in the game

Buying Product
Now you're going to want to make your way inside (change the name of the restaurant on your way if you want, just click on the sign) and find your computer in the back of the kitchen.

Click on the PC itself to turn it on and then click on the monitor. Once it boots up click on "Market" and purchase the maximum amount of "Frozen Beef Patties (x18)", "Burger Buns (x48)" and "Burger Wrapping Paper (x20)". It'll cost you just under half of your starting money of $1,000.

Organizing your restaurant
Now everyone may have their own style of organization, but here's a quick video showing how I organize things on day 1:
https://youtu.be/NBzsiPhunm0

I make sure things like wrapping paper and buns are on my build station, with 1 box/bag of extras underneath for quick access when I run out.

Cooking burgers
Every day before you open your restaurant you're going to want to pre-cook what you think will be enough burgers for the day. Currently from my experience you will get 13-14 customers per day, so I recommend cooking at least 12 burgers. If you need more then you'll still have plenty of time to cook 1 or 2 at a time and serve them to a customer before they get impatient.

When cooking burgers you can hold the burger patty container and place them onto the grill directly instead of grabbing them one by one from the container.

One of the things the tutorial doesn't cover is how to flip the burgers. To do that you need to pick one up with the spatula with left click, then right click to flip it, and left click again to put it back down.

I like to cook 6 burgers at a time as that's how many will fit onto a burger patty tray at a time. After you flip the burgers you can pick up the burger patty tray and wait for them to finish cooking, you can pick them up while holding the tray. Make sure that each side of your burgers is between 90-110%, any higher or lower and the customer will not accept the meal, close to 100% the better.

Serving Customers and Ending Day 1
Now you're ready to open your restaurant and serve customers. Here's how my first day has gone: https://youtu.be/zEBm1cKRgJg

I ended up needing to cook 3 additional burgers at the end to serve the last few customers, but I was able to get them cooked perfectly and served before the customer gets impatient. Whenever I'm not putting food together or serving it I make sure I'm going around and collecting money and cleaning up food trays, although currently having a messy restaurant has no affect on customer satisfaction. Once you're done for the day you will go to your car outside, left click and hold on it until the end of day screen appears, giving you a rundown of how your day went. You'll also see that you've unlocked ketchup, so starting on day 2 customers will start wanting different amounts of ketchup on their burgers.
Day 2
After successfully completing day 1, you should have gained enough experience to hit level 2. This means that you've now unlocked ketchup

Order more stock
Start off the day once again ordering whatever you may need, for me I only needed to order ketchup as I still had plenty of everything else.

Cleanup/reorganize
If you didn't cleanup your restaurant at the end of the night then now is the time to do so. You'll also want to put 1-2 cans of ketchup into one of the fridges inside the kitchen and the rest that you ordered into the walk in fridge/freezer in the back.
If you do not keep your ketchup in the fridge it will go bad and disappear overnight

Ready to start the day
As always, make sure you pre-cook as many burgers as you think you'll need for the day. I decided to cook the same amount as I had served on day 1, so 15 burgers. When building a burger for a customer with ketchup, pay close attention to the order board, the number next to the ketchup icon is how many squirts of ketchup the customer wants. Whenever I get a double hamburger with ketchup (or any other toppings) I'll usually place the toppings in between the 2 patties.

Days 3-4
If day 2 went well you should have gained enough experience to get to level 4. Level 3 unlocks soda cups and level 4 unlocks lettuce. Lettuce, same as ketchup, needs to be refrigerated.

Day 3
By now you should have a good rhythm of how to play the game. Time to order your new products and stock back up on things you may have run out of. Keep everything organized and areas prepped so that it's easier to build burgers and serve customers. I'd recommend storing boxes of extra soda cups in the cabinets underneath the soda machine. As with the toppings, pay attention to the amount of ice that a customer wants.

Following the tutorial gives you 10 experience for each big step, if I remember correctly.
