OVERVIEW
For the times you get stuck on a puzzle and don't want the answer. Are hints too much to ask for? Not with this guide they aren't!

Though this game isn't especially hard, this guide is here to gently help you out instead of spoiling the answers (I mean unless you want that)

Puzzles and achievements are listed in the approximate order you will solve things. Though you may solve some puzzles in a different order, all puzzles are needed to be able to proceed to the ending of the game regardless.
Escape 1st room
- Hint: You need 4 separate numbers
- Hint: How many post cards can you find scattered about?
- Hint: Pay attention to the circled numbers
- Hint: Did you find a list of travel dates?
- Big Hint: Using the list of travel dates and the hidden number in each postcard’s message, put the numbers in order according to which country is being visited first.
- Solution: 7341
ACHIEVEMENT: House Guest

Paintings of Bottles
- Hint: Do you have all the potions?
- Hint: The directions of the bottle-painting’s tears matter
- Hint: the white potion goes in the middle since there is a tear on each side of its painting
- Hint: tears go in the direction of the white bottle
- Solution: (R-L) black, yellow, white, red, green
ACHIEVEMENT: Chatty
Unlocked by using the radio many times




Just use the radio every chance you get. Should be hard to naturally miss.
Save Torres
- Hint: The letters on the wall can be completed by letters found somewhere else. This puzzle is really straightforward
- Solution: combine the letters on the wall + those on the mirror, check the painting, use the axe to break the wall

First Floor Library
Weapon’s Case
- Hint: Read each book in the room, remember the dates
- Hint: What item is each murderer using?
- Hint: If someone doesn’t have a date, were they mentioned somewhere else?
- Hint: The Dream Dealer is mentioned in another book
- Big Hint: Use the killer’s weapon and active years to decide the order of buttons to press
- Solution: 4-2-1-3-5

Bookshelf
- Hint: arrows behind the books tell you what side the books you use should be on
- Hint: turning the items around in the inventory gives you a number
- Hint: the painting tells you what items are important
- Solution: Top shelf - 1 right, Middle shelf - 5 left, Bottom shelf – 3 right
Religious Mural
- Hint: Need all the buttons lit simultaneously
- Hint: The statues and mural go together
- Big Hint: the physical places of the creatures on the mural match up to the locations of the physical symbols on the pedestal
- Solution:

Saving Charles
- Hint: you need to find 5 symbols and speak to Charles about each
- Hint: the direction the monster and Charles are is North

2nd Floor Master Bedroom
Note
- Hint: you need a sticky note to start the puzzle and must move an object to find it
- Hint: Have you placed the projector slide in? What room does it correspond to?
- Hint: Turning up your PC brightness may help, but there is something to find where each number corresponds
- Hint: there are hidden symbols that show 4 squares and an arrow each, corresponding to where the numbers say they are in the room
- Big Hint: using your sticky note code, shift around the numbers starting with the pattern at wall 1, and then 2, and so on.
- Solution: 1925

Dressing Table
- Hint: With your next projector slide, you must press highlight 3 of the buttons
- Hint: Consider how the buttons are arranged and what numbers represent which buttons
- Solution: Row 1 – symbol 3 (triangle), Row 2 – symbol 3 (X), Row 3 – symbol 2 (circle)

Crystal
- Solution: Build the door using the projector to cast shadows. Pretty straightforward honestly

Astronomy Room
- Hint: there are 3 notes, a blackboard, empty binder, and a journal to utilize
- Hint: the color pen on the notes correspond to the journal names
- Hint: You only need 4 specific animals, and 4 specific compass directions. What can the empty binder tell you about where to place them?
- Hint: Jeffrey’s dates are backwards.
- Hint: When Jason wants Jonathan to meet in the middle, what animal do they both have on our list? Meet in the middle is literal.
- Solution:
North – Unicorn is locked (25/07)
East – Wolf is locked (08/03)
South – Whale is locked (11/08)
West – Raven is locked (06/05)
William's Room
Electric Grid
- Hint: Have you examined the painting and talked to William? Notice anything unusual?
- Hint: Pull the rug back and examine the box
- Hint: this is for the electricity so think of this as a wire connecting game
- Hint: The orange dots on the edges of the puzzle will glow blue when the nodes are properly connected
- Hint: Standing facing the painting, the middle right is the important piece that lends electricity to the rest. Connect everything to those.
- Solution:
The Safe
- Hint: Look at the grid again
- Hint: now that William’s moved, he’s left his book behind. Notice anything familiar?
- Hint: trying to number the grid 1-9 DOES NOT matter
- Hint: there’s a hint on the book’s cover under the symbol list
- Hint: Combining partial symbols in the squares can be used to build one of the 4 symbols
- Big Hint: Now use the partial symbols that made up a single symbol and compare it to the spaces on the grid. Draw it out.
- Solution: 5423


Saving William
- Hint: According to William’s book he drank a “gumshoe”. This has very specific instructions on the drink’s page
- Hint: water is somewhere in the room
- Hint: You swap two of the ingredients, and the cordial alternative is listed on another page
- Hint: You need to serve the drink piping hot! This does NOT mean adding coffee last
- Big Hint: What is William now standing by?
- Solution: 1xWhiskey, 1xliquer, 2x coffee. Now warm it by the fire.

Basement + Saving Kai
Saving Kai
- Hint: you need a cloth and lighter
- Hint: Kai’s test tube has wires you can mess with
- Hint: You use cloth to clean sometimes, right?
- Solution: Use the cloth to clean blood on the floor for a DNA sample, once a countdown begins and the locker behind you opens. Grab the screwdriver, ID, and examine the uniforms for the lighter. Use ID to stop the lockdown and then use the screwdriver the panel at the bottom of Kai’s tube. Use the lighter to turn off life-support.

Storage Room Code
- Hint: everything you need is in this specific room. It’s quite straightforward.
- Solution: 6322

Meat Freezer
- Hint: You need to bring the meat with a ribbon on it to the meat cutter

Kitchen
- Hint: You need 6 pages + the chalkboard
- Hint: Did you find a wheel? Where does it go and what now turns on?
- Hint: what recipes on the board can you make?
- Big Hint: use the chalkboard to determine the two recipes you need. Look at the placement of the ingredients in their pictures and now utilize the stove
- Solution: From the chalkboard the only recipes you’ve got is “Friday Chicken Madras + Beef Stew”. On the left stovetop light the two burners on the right-side. On the right stovetop light all but the top-right burner.
Prison Cell
This puzzle is a little different in that the info given is not all used at once, and there are multiple stages to this test
- Hint: you’ll need 3 different pieces of information before proceeding
- Hint: Focus on the paper the computer gives you for each test
- Big Hint:
o test 1 – follow the direction of the arrows
o test 2 - only one of the letter strings is correct
o test 3 – read the info very carefully, it might trip you up
- Solution:
o test 1 – up, right, down, down ,right, right
o test 2 – BCDACBD
o test 3 – heart, club, spade, heart, club, spade

- Hint: have you connected the wires? What you need is in the room
- Hint: Turn on what it connects to and check the number pad. This one’s pretty straightforward
- Hint: Next door, go in reading order
- Hint: Third door, what does the 9 squares resemble that’s in the same room
- Hint: Fourth door, you’ve probably seen this symbol before
- Solution: Use the red tape on the floor to fix the wires, turn on the blacklight.

- Solution: Bottom right dial, bottom left dial, bottom right dial, bottom right dial

Clinic skeleton
- Brain: place it in specimen jar so the skeleton will move
- Hint: the poster is two of the same pose
- Solution: It should look exactly like the poster does, crooked arm and all

Saving Ruth
- Hint: you need 3 Greek-symbol chemicals and a syringe. There is also a centrifuge and a beaker What might go in the syringe? You should scan it
- Hint: there are books that give you important information
- Hint: You’re missing something that’s not in this room
- Hint: look closely at the walls
- Hint: okay if you have the next items, then you should be able to guess what element might be left over in the found antidote
- Hint: you don’t need everything in the bottle, so how might you separate it?
- Hint: The poster is important
- Solution: Draw blood with the syringe and use it in the centrifuge. Next, reading the books tells you that you’ll need Tau. This can be found by moving this same bookshelf to reveal a hole in the wall. Put the antidote found into the centrifuge to retrieve the separated Tau. Combine Tau, Alpha, and the drawn blood

ACHIEVEMENT: Sole Survivor
Kill all your possible companions





This achievement is unlocked by killing everyone else. This will unlock after completing the final puzzle in the mansion and letting the final stranger die.
Elevator + Offices
Once you're done with all the mansion's puzzles, you should have the option to use the elevator. This leads you to a new office space with a few more puzzles

Box
- Hint: You need the swords and to locate the 4 animals around the room
- Hint: the only hardish one is the whale. Think about how the origami is shaped
- Solution: whale - bottom, bird – bottom left, unicorn – top right, wolf – bottom

Turning on the Controls
- Hint: the whiteboard and colorful computers are important
- Hint: you utilize the white spheres specifically
- Hint: if you know what colors you need to make, now you need to figure out the order. Think of a color wheel; red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow make green, red and blue make purple
- Big Hint: the white board shows both the direction and colors
- Solution: From left to right, the white lights need to be pink- orange- green. Think of a color wheel

ACHIEVEMENT: Group Effort
Rescue all companions and leave together
Secret Ending Area
Secret's Location
- Hint: Use the projector
- Solution: Go back to the barrel room near the elevator and in the back room click on the 3rd barrel from the left

Tomb
- Hint: You need 3 statues, the third is hidden in the room
- Hint: even if the gargoyle is illegible, you can deduce the symbols
- Hint: the order is shown somewhere else in the room
- Solution: the third statue is found in an open coffin







Bottom of the Well/Lasers
- Hint: you can switch out the symbols on the ground to lead a laser around
- Hint: you can turn the symbols on the tree
- Hint: depending on how you solve it, one of the trees is not necessary to finish the puzzle










Red Space
- Hint: You’re recreating events from these scenes
- Solution:
o Bathroom – Examine the painting, throw the axe
o Clinic – Examine the wall, pick up the bone saw
o Lab – Leave the lab and upstairs to break the door
ACHIEVEMENT: Cartographer
Can only be unlocked when going for the secret ending, as those areas count toward your map. After reaching the laser puzzle, go ahead and open your map and this should unlock.
