I found the game to be super buggy doing this, and didn't get the achievement to trigger even after ~15 tries.

If you can get it to work, this method would be faster, but we'll use the concepts of this method to develop my alternative method.

The slingshot method works because the robot is grabbing while moving, which is effectively the same as climbing some distance. So, what's another, less buggy way for the robot to move while grabbing that doesn't actually involve climbing? The spinning asteroids.

I used this oblong one at the edge of the asteroid area. Try to pick one that is large but also spins quickly, this way, the robot moves more distance in a lower period of time.

Position yourself on the asteroid in such a way that you are as far as possible from it's axis of rotation so the character moves a larger distance. Grab with both hands. While grabbing, enter the pause menu, then let go, then unpause the game. Your character should still be grabbing without any input.

Go AFK like this for a little while. It shouldn't take too long: this should be faster than just normal climbing. I went AFK for about 30min and by the time I came back the achievement had triggered. Your mileage may vary.
