Intro
Like my other guide, I'm putting together a public reference for ID information and resources for building teams. The information presented here will be will be a reflection of the research I've been able to collect from resources as I've been able to find them.

A little personal background for context: I'm relatively new to the game and have only been playing since about February of 2025, so I'm neither familiar with significantly older team metas nor an exhaustive expert on the game with access to all the tools to extensively test all variations of team compositions. I'm writing this purely as a guide (for myself if nobody else) on what things to work towards. I maybe wouldn't even be writing this if there was a written resource like this that already existed, and maybe there is but I haven't found it yet.

On a related note, one thing I won't be able to address in much detail is how EGOs fit into the basic team composition recommendations except in the cases where it's well-known that they're important. The focus of this guide will be on what IDs you need to make successful teams of the common archetypes.

The first draft of this will have been written just before Season 6 and so the initial ID data will be limited to what's been released up until then. I have a live Google sheet that I'll be updating more frequently which can be found at this link[docs.google.com].
Recommended Teams
Most of the recommended teams in Limbus Company revolve around one of the seven basic "status effects": Burn, Bleed, Tremor, Rupture, Sinking, Poise, and Charge. You may also want to have teams prepared that focus in a particular damage type for content like EXP Luxcavations but the requirements are much looser. Similarly, it's not common, as far as I can tell, to build teams around specific sin affinities since there aren't many active gimmicks or conditionals that are fueled by specific resonances (with the only exception afaik being Envy). Status effects have an associated sin affinity and often the corresponding archetype team lean heavily towards one sin affinity anyways--teams might include unusual choices specifically to work around how stacked the sin resource accumulation might be.

To be clear, the team compositions in this guide are neither my expert opinion, the definitive way to play any given status team, nor based on extensive personal testing. Again, treat these as guidelines for what to work towards.

Team recommendations will have Mandatory, Core, Alternative, and Support IDs listed. Mandatory IDs are naturally ones that are extremely team-enabling, and while it's very possible to have a functioning team without them you should be expecting to have them to build the team around to maximize the team's potential. "Core" IDs are IDs that also have high priority for inclusion in the team as well, but may be less team-defining. Alternative IDs are IDs that can either be substituted for Core IDs if they're missing or fill in spaces for the teams with fewer required Core IDs. Support IDs will include notable IDs to have on hand for their support passives.

In the interest of putting out the first edition of this guide quickly I'm going to just dump my raw notes here for now and work on cleaning everything up and adding explanations and missing teams later. Also waiting on adding Rupture til the dust is settled on the new season 6 IDs and Talisman Sinclair nerfs.
*Rupture team suggestions: *-Devyat Rodion, Cinq Meursault, Heishou Ryoshu & Outis, (W Yi Sang, Seven Faust, K Hong Lu w/ Lasso, Lantern Don) *-Support: Talisman Sinclair
Burn
From what I understand, Burn has had a bit of resurgence over the last season, with several new Burn IDs supplementing the otherwise more sparse previous powerful offerings. Liu Association is the faction most frequently associated with Burn. Burn works generally by dealing fixed damage equal to the Burn Potency at the end of turn and then reduces its Burn Count by one. Burn is the Wrath-associated status effect.

  • Core
    • Liu Association South Section 3 Yi Sang > Liu Association South Section 4 Director Rodion = Liu Association South Section 4 Ishmael: You'll have room for two of these three.
    • Dawn Office Fixer Sinclair
    • Lobotomy EGO Magic Bullet Outis: Her Unique Burn, Dark Flame, will allow you to double your normal Burn damage cap.
    • Firefist Office Survivor Gregor
    • LCE EGO Ardor Blossom Star: Does big damage and then self-destructs.
    • Cinq Association East Section 3 Don Quixote: Great pick for the 7th spot for when Ardor Blossom Faust blows up.
  • Alternatives
    • Liu Association South Section 4 Ryoshu: Other Liu IDs are not worth fielding.
    • The Middle Little Brother Meursault: The current best Meursault option for a Burn team, useful for generating Sloth and for Capote.
    • Edgar Family Chief Butler Ryoshu: A useable quasi-alternative to Magic Bullet Outis.
    • RB Chef de Cuisine Ryoshu: A similarly useable quasi-alternative to Dawn Sinclair.
    • Molar Office Fixer Outis, Lobotomy EGO Regret Faust, W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Faust: Like Middle Meursault, are useful options for generating sin resources that Burn teams are often lacking.
    • The Pequod Captain Ishmael
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang & The Ring Pointillist Student Outis, Kurokumo Clan Captain Ishmael + Kurokumo Clan Wakashu Heathcliff: All IDs that deal more damage with more status effects inflicted upon enemies.
  • Useful Support Passives
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang
    • The One Who Grips Faust
    • Liu Association South Section 5 Hong Lu
    • Shi Association South Section 5 Heathcliff
    • The Priest of La Manchaland Gregor > RB Sous-chef Gregor > LCB Sinner Gregor

A Burning Fist Pain! (Limbus Company Season 5 - New ID Overview) by Kaskozhuk, uploaded Mar 8, 2025 - release overview for Firefist Gregor and Cinq East Don, including relatively modern Burn team recommendations

Bleed
Season 5 has given us a ton of extremely powerful Bleed IDs. Kurokumo and La Manchaland faction IDs typically have Bleed abilities, and Nail abilities on N Corp IDs are also a common source of Unique Bleed. Bleed works by dealing damage during each clash round and during each coin flip on the subsequent (or unopposed) attack, equal to the Bleed Potency, and then reducing the Bleed Count by one. Bleed is the Lust-associated status effect.

  • Core
    • The Manager of La Manchaland Don Quixote
    • The Princess of La Manchaland Rodion
    • The Barber of La Manchaland
    • Kurokumo Clan Captain Ishmael + Kurokumo Clan Wakashu Heathcliff: This pair is a monster for nearly any team but they're explicitly intended for Bleed.
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang
  • Alternatives
    • The Priest of La Manchaland Gregor: The last La Manchaland ID but it's also the least essential, making it the obvious choice to forego for Ring Yi Sang or others.
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Outis
  • Useful Support Passives
    • The One Who Grips Faust

Tremor
Tremor is in a strange and unique spot compared to other status effects. It requires a lot of extra setup and payoff to maximize but it also gives you the most variety of options for what that payoff is. Unfortunately, this means the tools to maximize it are going to be most available to players who have accumulated more IDs and EGOs but those players are also likely to have comparably powerful other team options (and those other teams will be a little more reasonable to build towards for newer players). Newer IDs and EGOs have made this less true over time but it still remains a strange status effect to work around.

Tremor normally works by raising Stagger Threshold by Tremor Potency whenever the Tremor-inflicted target is hit with any skill or effect that triggers a Tremor Burst. If this sounds really confusing, think of it like Stagger damage from Library of Ruina--you're not directly damaging the enemy's HP but you are still bringing them closer to being staggered. Several IDs and EGOs can apply an Amplitude Conversion, which changes or alters the effects. For example, Yurodivy & Cavernous Wailing Hong Lu can trigger Tremor - Reverb, which also deals Sloth damage equal to Tremor Potency on Tremor Burst.

To further complicate Tremor, many IDs use Tremor on themselves as a pseudo-Charge resource for conditionals, but for the most part those aren't relevant for teambuilding for Tremor.

Tremor is the Sloth-assoicated status effect.

  • Mandatory
    • District 20 Yurodivy Hong Lu: If you want to push damage with Tremor you need either Yurodivy Hong Lu or his Cavernous Wailing EGO for access to Tremor - Reverb. If you have the latter, the Yurodivy ID isn't strictly mandatory, but Hong Lu is in some form.
  • Core
    • Molar Office Fixer Outis
    • Lobotomy EGO Regret Faust: Any other high-tier Faust is also an alternative pick with Everlasting.
    • Oufi Association South Section 3 Heathcliff: Can be used to trigger Tremor - Decay, which stacks Defense Level Down per 4 Tremor Potency, which is a meaty alternative to Tremor - Reverb for boosting damage (especially for Sloth-resistant enemies). If you have Oufi Heathcliff you can maybe make do without Hong Lu for a Tremor team.
  • Alternatives
    • T Corp Class 3 Collection Staff Don Quixote: Borderline Core depending on whether or not you want to make use of her Time Moratorium, which can be powerful but is an additional layer of setup and payoff on top of Tremor and can be a little obnoxious if you're not careful about triggering it.
    • T Corp Class 2 Collection Staff Rodion, Rosespanner Workshop Rep Rodion: Rodion's Effervescent Corrosion stacks a ton of Tremor Count.
    • Dieci Association South Section 4 Hong Lu: Probably the best non-Yurodivy option for Hong Lu if you have Cavernous Wailing and need to include him.
    • Molar Boatworks Fixer Ishmael, LCCB Assistant Manager Ishmael
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang & The Ring Pointillist Student Outis
    • District 20 Yurodivy Ryoshu, LCCB Assistant Manager Ryoshu
    • Rosespanner Workshop Fixer Meursault

Sinking
Sinking is a powerful status effect archetype that seems to have slightly fallen by the wayside a bit recently. Sinking is commonly associated with the Dieci Association and Season 4 Edgar Family/Butler IDs, and a smattering of others. Sinking works similar to Rupture; it is applies to enemies and then is triggered by additional attacks, either dealing SP or Gloom damage equal to the Sinking Potency and then decreasing Sinking Count by one. So obviously, Sinking is the Gloom-associated status effect.

  • Core
    • Molar Boatworks Fixer Ishmael
    • Dieci Association South Section 4 Rodion
    • Wuthering Heights Chief Butler Outis
    • Edgar Family Heir Gregor
    • Dieci Association South Section 4 Hong Lu
  • Alternatives
    • R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Ishamel OR R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Hong Lu: Both are good substitutions if you don't have their primary Core IDs, however you should avoid using both of them in the same team.
    • Effloresced EGO Spicebrush Yi Sang > Dieci Association South Section 4 Yi Sang
    • Wuthering Heights Butler Faust
    • Lobotomy EGO Sunshower Heathcliff
    • Edgar Family Butler Ishmael
    • G Corp Head Manager Outis
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang & The Ring Pointillist Student Outis
  • Useful Support Passives
    • Wuthering Heights Butler Faust

Poise
Poise has enough available IDs that we can divide things further into two distinct Slash- and Pierce-based Poise teams. Note, however, that the Pierce team's most powerful iteration requires two Walpurgisnacht IDs working together. Fortunately, if you don't have either full team you can also make do with simply mashing the two compositions together and take the best from each to have a passable full Poise team. Poise gives a unit a chance to critical hit (for base 1.2x damage multiplier) based on the Poise Potency (Poise Potency x 5%), Poise Count is reduced by one either on a successful crit or at turn end. Poise is the Pride-associated status effect.

  • Slash Team
    • Mandatory
      • Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault: The slash team is built mostly around Blade Lineage IDs, and Meursault both juices them all up and is extremely powerful on his own.
    • Core
      • Blade Lineage Salsu Yi Sang
      • Blade Lineage Salsu Faust
      • Edgar Family Chief Butler Ryoshu: Both Slash and Poise and potent enough to be an important part of what could otherwise just be a full Blade Lineage team.
    • Alternatives: Fill in remaining spots with any of these in roughly this recommended order.
      • Blade Lineage Salsu Don Quixote, Blade Lineage Salsu Sinclair, Blade Lineage Salsu Outis
      • Edgar Family Butler Ishmael > Shi Association South Section 5 Ishmael
      • Cinq Association South Section 4 Director Sinclair
      • Kurokumo Clan Wakashu Rodion
      • Any of the recommended IDs from the Pierce Team.
      • Lobotomy Corp Remnant Faust
  • Pierce Team
    • Core
      • Full-Stop Office Rep Hong Lu + Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff
      • The Pequod Captain Ishmael
      • Cinq Association South Section 4 Director Sinclair
    • Alternatives: Fill in remaining spots with any of these in roughly this recommended order.
      • Cinq Association West Section 3 Meursault > Cinq Association East Section 3 Don Quixote > Cinq Association South Section 4 Outis
      • The Pequod Harpooner Heathcliff > The Pequod First Mate Yi Sang
      • Twinhook Pirates First Mate Gregor
      • Any of the recommended IDs from the Slash Team.
  • Useful Support Passives (Either Team)
    • Blade Lineage Salsu Yi Sang
    • Cinq Association South Section 5 Director Don Quixote, Blade Lineage Salsu Don Quixote
    • LCCB Assistant Manager Ryoshu (for the Full-Stop duo), Edgar Family Chief Butler Ryoshu
    • Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault, Cinq Association West Section 3 Meursault
    • Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff
    • The Pequod Captain Ishmael, Zwei Association West Section 3 Ishmael
    • Blade Lineage Salsu Sinclair, Cinq Association South Section 4 Director Sinclair
    • Cinq Association South Section 4 Outis, Blade Lineage Salsu Outis

Charge
Like Poise, Charge is a status effect that generally applies to the ID using it, and typically involves a now-traditional-for-RPGs system of skills that build and then spend the resource, in this case Charge (both Count and Potency). Charge is typically associated with W Corp, MultiCrack, and R Corp IDs, but many IDs have similar types of builder-spender mechanics (sometimes using other status effects, for example some IDs build and spend Tremor on themselves). Charge is the Envy-associated status effect.

Charge has a lot viably powerful IDs and there's going to be a lot of Core options to pick from, so the Alternatives are going to be mostly the less-powerful-but-still-viable leftovers that are sort of stuck as runners up. There are even more Charge IDs that won't have made either cut.

  • Mandatory
    • W Corp L3 Cleanup Captain Outis: W Corp Outis is the engine that makes this team work most effectively since her main gimmick is funneling Charge into the rest of the team.
  • Core
    • Lobotomy EGO Red Eyes & Penitence Ryoshu or W Corp L3 Cleanup Agent: Ryoshu has a guaranteed slot with either of these IDs. Despite not being strictly Charge, Red Eyes functions similarly-enough that it's still a valid option here, and is probably marginally better than W Corp, but you can and should use whichever of the two you have and like better.
    • W Corp L3 Cleanup Agent Don Quixote
    • MultiCrack Office Rep Faust & MultiCrack Office Fixer Heathcliff
    • R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Ishmael & R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Hong Lu
    • W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Meursault (note: really needs to be Uptied to 4 to keep up) or R Corp 4th Pack Rhino Meursault
  • Alternatives
    • W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Faust & W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Hong Lu
    • The Pequod Harpooner Heathcliff, The Middle Little Sister Don Quixote, The Middle Little Brother Meursault, The Middle Little Brother Sinclair, The Princess of La Manchaland Rodion: All for extra Envy resonance if desired.
  • Useful Support Passives
    • The Ring Pointillist Student Yi Sang > LCB Sinner Yi Sang
    • W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Faust
    • R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Hong Lu > W Corp L2 Cleanup Agent Hong Lu > LCB Sinner Hong Lu
    • Wild Hunt Heathcliff
    • R Corp 4th Pack Reindeer Ishmael
    • N Corp Mittelhammer Rodion > LCB Sinner Rodion > LCCB Assistant Manager Rodion
    • Blade Lineage Salsu Sinclair > Zwei Association South Section 6 Sinclair > Los Mariachis Jefe Sinclair
    • The Priest of La Manchaland Gregor > RB Sous-chef Gregor > LCB Sinner Gregor

ID Data
Columns indicate which skills match the listed affinity. For example, in the Blunt column, "13D" indicates the skills 1, 3, and the defensive skill (typically a counter in the case when it's in a Slash/Pierce/Blunt column) are Blunt.

Most IDs will have 3 available sin affinities with one of the three doubling up, and most IDs also require Uptie 4 before their defensive skills gain a sin affinity.

Type of defense skill are indicated by G for Guard, E for Evade, C for Counter, CG for Clashable Guard, and CC for Clashable Counter.

Tier Lists and Resources
I'm including this section for players who just want resources on what general IDs are powerful and worth angling towards in order to have a workable team for basic early story progression and Normal Mirror Dungeons. As always, tier & "these are the best IDs" lists should be taken with a grain of salt for both how they may become outdated over time and for how they may reflect the author's preferences. My suggestion is to be referencing multiple tier lists and guides to get a range of opinions so that you can have an idea from multiple sources what is likely to indeed be verifiably powerful, which is why I'll include a handful of different sources here.
