1. Story - Kelp Seeds Stolen!


Grandma Grouper's treasure chest of kelp seeds is stolen, and Freddi and Luther go off in search of the thieves, who turn out to be two sharks. (One is called Spongehead, but the other is never called anything but Boss.) Thankfully, Spongehead has a bad memory, so he left a trail of notes in bottles leading to the chest.
2. Minigames
Mr. Starfish's Math Class:
Answer Math Questions with Mr. Starfish.
= Difficulty Levels:
Easy
Normal
Hard
Very Hard
Advanced

Feeding Frenzy:
Feed as many turtles as you can using your 3 Buckets of Jellyfish.

Pearl Hunt:
A Small Pearl in hidden inside 3 Clams so that it cannot be seen and they are then shuffled.
Try to guess where the Pearl is.
3. Walkthroughs Guide - Target Requirements
There are 2 things you need to do in order to Recover the Treasure Chest of Kelp Seeds:
1. Locate the Clue Bottles
2. Reach the Sunken Ship
4. In-Game Locations
There are some In-Game Locations that my catch your fancy under the sea.

3. Walkthroughs Guide - First Clue Bottle
Head out of Grandma Grouper's place to meet up with Luther. In a attempt to swim a loop-de-loop,
Luther knocks down a bottle with a note in it. Freddi takes it out the note and reads one of
3 Random Locations which are Randomized for each Walkthrough:

Clue Bottle 1 Messages (Randomized Per Playthrough)
1. To find Grandman Grouper's treasure chest, go to the old whale bones.
2. To find Grandma Grouper's treasure chest, go near the beach.
3. To find Grandma Grouper's treasure chest, go to the volcano.

Be sure to pick up the Purple Sea Urchin as well, before beginning your search on the next Clue Bottle.
5-1. Clue Bottle 1 Walkthroughs - Volcano Guide
To get the Clue Botle at the Volcano, you'll need 4 Purple sea Urchins to do so. Head down the right path, and continue to meet Mrs. Halibut. Her baby guppy is stuck in the rock. She'll try to get in the cave, but she can't fit and gets stuck. Continue going Left and you'll find, a Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin. Pick up both the Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin, then go left until you meet Ray & you'll see a Silver Key, pick it up. You'll also see a shrimp net but you can't get through it Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo but you'll need a clock from the Junkyard to get it. Keep going Left until you reach the Old Whale Bones and see a bone which you'll need later. Now backtrack until you reach the surface until you Fiddler Crab trapped in a cage, use the Silver Key to Release him and get the Fishing Pole. (You can also play the Feeding Frenzy Minigame by going Right if you want.) Then you'll reach Mrs. Halibut who is still stuck. Click on her to pull her out & she'll tell you Gabby is stuck in the cave. Enter the cave, but first you'll see a Beautiful Shell, pick that up for later then Pry the rock that is trapping Gaby using the wooden plank to save him. Gaby's mother hugs her son, and because she is so grateful, she gives you a Purple Sea Urchin, now backtrack to the Nexus and head Left to initiate a small cutscene. A couple of sharks come by. The bigger, fatter, dumber one has lost his bottle. They head off in an attempt to find it. Continue until you reach the Volcano Gate. When you Reach the Volcano Gate, use 4 Purple sea Urchins to open it (1 on the Ground and 3 in your Inventory), then head through the gate until you find the Second Clue Bottle, pick it up then Freddi takes it out the note and reads one of 2 Random Locations which are Randomized for each Walkthrough:

1. Go to the deep canyon.
2. Go to the junkyard.

NOTE: You can also Visit the Clamshell Theater left to the Volcano.
5-2. Clue Bottle 1 Walkthroughs - Beach Guide
Head down the right path to initiate a small cutscene. A couple of sharks come by. The bigger, fatter, dumber one has lost his bottle. They head off in an attempt to find it.

Continue down the right path, and continue to meet Mrs. Halibut. Her baby guppy is stuck in the rock. She'll try to get in the cave, but she can't fit and gets stuck. Continue going Left and you'll find the Second Clue Bottle, a Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin. Pick up both the Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin, then go left until you meet Ray & you'll see a Silver Key, pick it up. You'll also see a shrimp net but you can't get through it Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo but you'll need a clock from the Junkyard to get it. Keep going Left until you reach the Old Whale Bones and see a bone which you'll need later. Continue down the right path, and continue to meet Mrs. Halibut. Her baby guppy is stuck in the rock. She'll try to get in the cave, but she can't fit and gets stuck. Continue going Left and you'll find a Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin. Pick up both the Wooden Board & Purple Sea Urchin, then go left until you meet Ray & you'll see a Silver Key, pick it up. You'll also see a shrimp net but you can't get through it Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo but you'll need a clock from the Junkyard to get it. Keep going Left until you reach the Old Whale Bones and see a bone which you'll need later & the Second Clue Bottle. 6-1. Clue Bottle 2 Walkthroughs - Junkyard Guide
From the Beach, backtrack to the far Left. (Or Right from the Old Whale Bones or Volcano) This initiates another cutscene, in which the big shark tells the narrow shark that he hid the bottles so he could find his way to the kelp treasure. The smaller shark tells him that if he can't find the treasure, he's got to anwer to the Squidfather.

Then you'll reach Mrs. Halibut who is still stuck. Click on her to pull her out & she'll tell you Gabby is stuck in the cave. Enter the cave, but first you'll see a Beautiful Shell, pick that up for later then Pry the rock that is trapping Gaby using the wooden plank to save him. Gaby's mother hugs her son, and because she is so grateful, she gives you a Purple Sea Urchin, now backtrack to the Nexus and head Left, then go up until you see another Purple Sea Urchin. (You can also play Mr. Starfish's Math Class if you like) Continue going up until you enter the Junkyard. You'll meet up with a hungry dogfish guarding a bottle and another portion of the junkyard. First, use the Bone on the Dogfish then get the Third Clue Bottle. Freddi takes it out the note and reads one of 2 Random Locations which are Randomized for each Walkthrough:

Clue Bottle 3 Messages (Randomized Per Playthrough):
1. Go to the King's Castle.
2. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Left
3. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Middle
4. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Right
6-2. Clue Bottle 2 Walkthroughs - Deep Canyon Guide
From the Beach, backtrack to the far Left. (Or Right from the Old Whale Bones or Volcano) This initiates another cutscene, in which the big shark tells the narrow shark that he hid the bottles so he could find his way to the kelp treasure. The smaller shark tells him that if he can't find the treasure, he's got to anwer to the Squidfather.

Gaby's mother hugs her son, and because she is so grateful, she gives you a Purple Sea Urchin, which makes your Purple Sea Urchin Count up to 3. now backtrack to the Nexus and head left until you reach the intersection containing the 3 Caves, the Volcano & the Deep Canyon. Plus there's the Second Clue Bottle, click on it and Luther will get it, in an attempt to show some bravery. He drops it, then an angler fish steals it. Head down the pit, then use the Fishing Rod to get the Third Clue Bottle from the Pit. Freddi takes it out the note and reads one of 2 Random Locations which are Randomized for each Walkthrough:

Clue Bottle 3 Messages (Randomized Per Playthrough):
1. Go to the King's Castle.
2. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Left
3. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Middle
4. Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Right
7-1. Clue Bottle 3 Walkthroughs - 3 Caves Guide
Another cutscene of the sharks initiate. In this one, the skinny shark takes the big one for a visit to the Squid Father.

From the Junkyard, go left until you see a broken down car which contains a Clock you'll need for the Super-Duper-Dooka-Booka-Poly-Gizmo, pick it up and backtrack to Ray at the Shrimp Net but you may want to make a pit stop to where Herman is near King Crab's Castle, use the Beautiful Shell on him to get his Glowing Shell. Then continue backtracking until you reach Ray at the Shrimp Net, then use the Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo to get through the Shrimp Net. Carefully watch the clam with the pearl as it moves around, then click on it to get the pearl. (Or Backtrack from the Deep Canyon) Then continue Backtracking until you reach the intersection containing the 3 Caves, the Volcano & the Deep Canyon. Head over to the 3 Caves but Eddy the eel will come up to stop you from getting in. Use the Peanut Butter and Jellyfish Sandwich and he'll let you pass. Now the Fourth and Final Clue Bottle is Hidden in one of the Caves. One of them contains another Purple Sea Urchin. While the Clue Bottle in either the Left, Middle or Right Caves. (Be sure to use the Glowing Shell when your exploring the 3 Caves) After you've found the Last Clue Bottle, pick it up. Freddi takes it out the note and reads it: "The treasure is hidden in the sunken ship."

NOTE: The Fourth and Final Clue Bottle will ALWAYS take you to the Sunken Ship in Each Walkthrough.
7-2. Clue Bottle 3 Walkthroughs - King Crab's Castle Guide
Another cutscene of the sharks initiate. In this one, the skinny shark takes the big one for a visit to the Squid Father.

From the Deep Canyon, backtrack until you reach the Junkyard (Also Pick up the Purple Sea Urchin along the way), then use the Bone on the Junkyard Dogfish. Next, go left until you see a broken down car which contains a Clock you'll need for the Super-Duper-Dooka-Booka-Poly-Gizmo, pick it up and backtrack to Ray at the Shrimp Net but you may want to make a pit stop to where Herman is near King Crab's Castle, use the Beautiful Shell on him to get his Glowing Shell. Then continue backtracking until you reach Ray at the Shrimp Net, then use the Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo to get through the Shrimp Net. Carefully watch the clam with the pearl as it moves around, then click on it to get the pearl. Then Head over to King Crab's Castle and you'll find another Purple Sea Urchin. Proceed until you Reach the Throne Room and use the Pearl on King Crab so you can get the Fourth & Final Clue Bottle. Freddi takes it out the note and reads it: "The treasure is hidden in the sunken ship."

NOTE: The Fourth and Final Clue Bottle will ALWAYS take you to the Sunken Ship in Each Walkthrough.

HINT: You can you use the Mouse to follow the Pearl.
8. Walkthroughs Guide - Sunken Ship
Knowing where the ship is, Freddi immediately scurries off to the ship. This initiates a cut-scene. The Squid Father "talks" to the sharks about the kelp seeds. He eventually gets so angry, he shoots ink all over the place, and then, the fat shark raises from the smoke and shouts, "I REMEMBER WHERE THE TREASURE IS!,". He and the skinnier shark scurry off to find it.

You'll notice a pirate using a mandolin as a crutch. Head over to the ship. Freddi and Luther look in the window to see GRANDMA GROUPER'S KELP SEEDS! But, you don't have a crank handle to open the window. Head inside the ship, then through the upper crack in the ship hold. Grab the crotch and backtrack to the pirate and use the crutch on him so you can get the Mandolin then backtrack to the wardrobe and use the Mandolin on the wardrobe to get the Crank Handle from Phineas McFinn. Then head back to the Window and use the Crank Handle on the pulley to enter the room where Grandma Grouper's Kelp Treasure is and click on it to restore peace once more in the seven seas, and you've just beat the game. Congratulations!
9. The End
Druing the End Credits, you can Click on the Bubbles & the Fish for some Fun Surprises. You can also choose to Play Again by Clicking GO or Exit to Windows by Clicking on STOP.
10. Game Items
Freddi Fish has 8 Different Bubbles in which he can store the items you find in the game.

Beautiful Shell: Used to get the Glowing Shell from Herman near King's Crab's Castle.

Clock: Used to get the Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo from Ray near the Shrimp Net.

Crank Handle: Used to open the Window of the Sunken Ship & reach the Kelp Treasure.

Crutch: Used to get the Mandolin from the Peg Finned Pirate.

Fishing Pole: Used to get the Clue Bottle in the Deep Canyon.

Glowing Shell: Used to light each of the 3 Caves & get the Clue Bottle.

Silver Key: Used to Recuse Fiddler Crab who's trapped in a cage.

Mandolin: Used to get the Crank Handle from Phineas McFinn.


Clue Bottles: Used to Find The Kelp Treasure. There's 4 in the entire game.
=1st Clue Set=
To find Grandman Grouper's treasure chest, go to the Old Whale Bones.
To find Grandma Grouper's treasure chest, go near the Beach.
To find Grandma Grouper's treasure chest, go to the Volcano
=2nd Clue Set=
Go to the Deep Canyon.
Go to the Junkyard.
=3rd Clue Set=
Go to the King's Castle.
Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Left
Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Middle
Find the 3 Caves & enter the one on the Right
=Final Clue=
The treasure is hidden in the Sunken Ship


Peanut Butter & Jellyfish Sandwich: Used to get past Eddie the Eel at the 3 Caves.

Pearl: Used to get the Clue Bottle at King Crab's Castle.

Purple Sea Urchin: Used as Currency in later Freddi Fish Titles, there's 7 in Freddi Fish 1.
Also used to Enter the Theater at the Undersea Volcano by using 4 Purple Sea Urchins
in the Bucket.

Super Duper Dooka Booka Poly Gizmo: Used to get past the Shrimp Net.

Bone: Used to get past the Junkyard Dogfish and get the Clue Bottle in the Junkyard.

Wooden Board: Used to Rescue Gabby who's trapped in a Cave.
11. Saving & Loading
Saving your Game:
To Save your Game, Press the "S" Key on your Keyboard. A total of 12 Files can be saved at a time. Place the game's screenshot onto the file you want to save & name your Save File to save your progress. You can overwrite a save by placing its screenshot on the game you saved earlier & name it. This can be done anywhere in the game at anytime.

Loading your Game:
To Load your Game, Press the "L" on your Keyboard. You can load your Saved Game
by selecting the screenshot you saved your progress in by clicking on it.

15-2. Secret - Full CD-ROM Install (ScummVM)
Want to play Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds without the CD?
Then I'll show you how to do so.

First, download the ScummVM Emulator here:
http://scummvm.org/

Then, follow these steps:
1. Insert your Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds CD into your Disc Drive.
2. Click on QUIT at the autorun.
3. Open the CD
4. Create a new Folder on your C Drive and Name it: "HEGames".

5. Create a New Folder in your HEGames Folder & Name it "Freddi1"

6. Copy the Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds CD Files to your Freddi1 Folder on your Hard Drive.

7. Run the ScummVM Installer & follow the instructions shown.

8. DON'T Open Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds just yet. If you're using a newer computer, you'll need to use the ScummVM Emulator.

9. Open ScummVM
10. Select "ADD GAME"

11. Find the folder where Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds is Installed on your Hard Drive, select CHOOSE & then select OK. After that, the game should be added to the ScummVM Library.

12. Highlight Freddi Fish 1: Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds,
then Double-Click on it to start or select START.

13. Enjoy

NOTE: For the 1998 Reprint of Freddi Fish 1, its done in the same way but you will need both the 1994 Original and 1998 Reprint to do a Double Installer. Also when installing the 1998 Reprint Version, create a Second Folder in Freddi1 and Name it "Freddi1 1998".

And it disappeared after getting the crank handle

Check the Steam Settings. As for the 1998 Reprint Version, I updated the CD-ROM Install Section as you may want to make a Second Freddi1 Folder called "Freddi1 1998" so that you can choose to play the Original or Updated Releases.

And its not just the Clue Bottles, but the Cage Key, Pearl, Wooden Board & the Purple Sea Urchins as well. They also had early designs.

I told you where all the Clue Bottles are in the game. The locations of the Bottles are randomized with the beginning one you find is always in the Nexus & the last one leading you to the Sunken Ship
