A simple guide through achievements
By StDrake
Those achievements have descriptions, but many are not very precise. This guide aims to clarify and give hints on how to get them.
Not very complete - I'm trying to fill this in as I get them or find some info elsewhere

Story related - can't be missed (at least..I think it's so)
The Once and Future King - you should get it near the end of the island asylum when you first meet Arthur (well..his spirit..or at least part of it)

The Hollow Blade - when you manage to get the soul part from Excalibur

The Audience - When you defeat the queen at Sagremor Depths, I don't think it can be missed since you need to get through her for the menhir tablet from Sagremor

Chains or Freedom - when you give menhir tablets to either Maggot or Denholm

The Shield of Avalon - When you manage to get the soul part from Palamedes' heir

(unconfirmed)Crown of Ashes

Strider - should pop up when you enter the Forlorn Swords region
story related, but there is a small possibility to miss
The Fate of the Horns - follow the "main" quest to meet the captain of the Horns of the South and get through the whole issue with Galahad or One-Eye. I got it while going the path that involves killing Galahad
The obvious
The Journey Begins - Reach level 5.

Marked by Avalon - Reach level 20.

Forged in the Wyrdness - Reach level 35.

A Legend in the Making - Reach level 50.

there's tons of experience points just lying around waiting for you to obtain them - fightinng, leveling up skills, quests and even just finding landmarks. Fighting during wyrdnight gives more xp per kill

Hands of Creation - Craft 10 items. (there should be a crafting station near any blacksmith)

Master Chef - Cook 50 dishes. (good way to earn money too if your practicality is high enough)

Brew It Yourself - Brew 25 potions.

Keyless Entry Specialist - Lockpick 50 locks.

Pages of Experience - Unlock 25 journal entries.

The One Percent - Amass a wealth of 10,000. (yes that means have that much on you at one time, putting points into practicality early should help, but I don't see a point in getting more than 10. You can respec them later with an origin potion)

Master of One - Max out a single Skill Proficiency. (Max is 100. This means the skills that level up by themselves as you use them like sneaking, cooking etc. You'll probably max out your main combat skill fastest, magic likes to rise very fast once you get the right spells)
Everything else - general
..but some are obviously easier in the Horns of the South region

Home Sweet Home - (not tested) there's one hut for sale in the fishing village in the Horns region for 20000 coins, or Alisa will sell you the house she wanted you to clear out for 500 after you bring her news of her husband ( but that will lock you out of the romance quest for another achievement). There is another house for sale in Cuanacht as well for 50000.
Worth checking if completing the iventor quest by sending him to camelot doesn't also tick this off as he gives you his house, but it's not redecorable

Unleash the Legend - (not tested) you'll probably need a few more levels and either a melee or mage build with some area effects. Then get to an area with a lot of weak enemies close to each other - probably the "sunken" village or the sandy peninsula on the southeast of the Horns region. Using the special power from Arthur slows down time for a moment and within that moment you need to land 5 killing blows - undead and drowners in the aforementionned areas should be good for that

Soft Underbelly - this should come with time if you're using bows or melee. Even if you prefer magic I recommend carrying a bow to make an opening shot from hiding, likely a headshot

Bear Handed - don't equip any weapons, finding and equiping Heavy Gauntlets should help a lot (Horns region, in a locked chest near the camp in front of the west gate leading to Cuanacht) and you probably want to do it at a higher level with a melee-oriented build to actually do some damage
Also - bears in Horns of the South are easier than in other areas
Additional note - you don't need to fight the bear unarmed all the way, only make the last blow with your fist, you can take off most of its hitpoints with other things

Pen Mightier Than Sword - you can buy a sketchbook from Orlaith in Horns of the South. Select it from the equipment choice wheel (default Q key) and you can use it like any weapon. Though it's not very strong, so let's hope you are - kill a zombie or something by just pressing the attack button while having the sketchbook selected

For Academic Purposes - 5 of the books can be bought from Vrells bookshop in Cuanacht, but most can also be found much earlier, leaving only Lustful Marquise vol 2 and Forbidden Pleasure to be bought..and then there's the issue of Returns to the chamber of ecstasy..but let' sbreak it down a bit:
  • Beautiful Liliana in the Chamber of Ecstasy - Island Asylum turn right from where you start (or buy from Vrell)
  • Beautiful Liliana in the Dungeons of Perversion - On a barrel under Kings Road in the Horns of the South (this one can't be bought)
  • Beautiful Liliana and the Lustful Marquise - Mistbearers Den (or buy from Vrell)
  • Beautiful Liliana in the Dal Riata Captivity - Can't remember :( but I did find it somewhere in the Horns region (or buy from Vrell)
  • Beautiful Liliana and the Lustful Marquise, vol. 2 - buy from Vrell
  • Beautiful Liliana and the Forbidden Pleasure - buy from Vrell
  • Beautiful Liliana Returns to the Chamber of Ecstasy - "easy" way - save game in Vrells bookshop, look for it on the shelves, steal, reload cause you just got caught
in some guide on the net you'll find a mistake - Beautiful Liliana and the Forbidden Pleasure vol. 2 does not exist, it was probably meant to say LustFul Marquise vol. 2
side note - at some point Vrell gives a quest to retrieve stolen books about Liliana, but even after success I didn't see the last book appear in her inventory..yet
mostly in Horns of the South
No Chains, No Destiny - (unconfirmed) this does not necessarily need to be inside the building when you first meet him - you should be able to find a safespot in his own boat to hit him with spells. Just be wary that he can throw embers too. Otherwise you'll need Dark Souls level dodging ability and some patience, cause he only needs to hit you once to down you. Remember to execute him at the end and loot his stuff or he'll get up and the whole fight will be back to start

Double Identity - (unconfirmed) complete the above to kill Carados on the asylum island, loot his armor, find him again in the Horns of the South region (on top of the hill just north of where you landed. He's sitting by the entrance to a cave called "shrine of a forgotten god"). Put on the looted suit before talking to him.

New Friend - you'll find an egg behind a monster slain by Caradoc in the cave in front of which he's sitting. Walk around with it in your inventory and sit by a fireplace once you've taken enough steps to fill its requirement

Gates Are Unnecessary - Don't talk to the drunk guard by the main gate - there's another entrance from a fishing village on the shore. The small pallisade entrance doesn't count as a gate

Honor Over Life - Don't miss the tag from that keeper stretched in the island asylum alchemy lab. See this guide: https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3486916723 . Might be useful to keep notes which ones you already found, or even keep them until you have found all. You get the achievement for giving them to quartermaster Fearghas

By My Own Hand - trying to pull out the sword without a Keeper blessing quickly drains your health, but the damage is percent based, so if you gather enough healing potions you can keep pulling and drinking with a hotkey until you land in Arthurs soul chamber again. If you mess up the "main" quest in the Horns this is your last way to progress further. Otherwise you might want to reload to before this to get the achievement below.

The Keeper of the South - not sure if it can be done if you side with Galahad, but otherwise the captain of the Horns tells you about a ritual to appoint new Keepers via sleeping under a gong(that needs fixing). Talk to him after you're done with it

Justice Delivered - after you "become" a keeper of the south the captain will have one last request for you before you leave - to kill all the bandits and their new leaders in a few areas. Clearing them all out rewards this achievement

Yours Forever - in the fishing village tavern there's a noblewoman named Alisa. Be nice to her, complete her requests, don't tell her the truth about her husband. One part of this guide should help: https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2956461097

It’s Alive! - on top of the main keep in Horns of the South there's a vegetable garden tended by a grumpy guard. Talk to him and try not to make him angry and he'll give you a seed to plant

WAAAOOOAAGGHH!!! - you'll find a ring that says you don't take damage from falling at a corpse by the cliff between a lone tower east of Kings road and the ruined broch in Horns of the South region. The ring doesn't work, so save before equipping it and finding a high place to jump from - the keep has a lot of cliffs around to practice flying from.

My Wolves Are Better Than Yours - the summon wolf spell is in a cave near the beach where you landed. Just follow the road and look to your right. Be wary of a buggane hidden beneath the ground at the bottom of the cave

Ironic - follow Orlaiths quest and you'll eventually find Rumpolt with a quest to prepare sour herring with cheese. He will reward you with a spell that turns anything into cheese. Use it on Rumpolt himself. It takes a while of continuous casting to work, so be careful not to get killed by him when you begin - opening one of the cage doors and closing it between you when the fight starts might help

The Fisher-King’s Successor - (unconfirmed) This got patched and we need a new guide for it now, but it seems you still need to catch 6 types of fish..out of the 29 that now exist this one's horrible, but mostly because of the patience it requires as most of the time you'll just catch bream. Maybe a crab if lucky and a special herring when you get a quest from Rumpolt. That means 3 more KINDS of fish to catch and they are VERY rare...but at least they should all be catchable in the Horns region.
People on discord provide us with these hints on where to try:
  • Common Bream : Disgusting invasive species fish of Avalon
  • Special Herring : Need quest from cheese guy and quest location
  • Crab : HoS Village, dock, not sure if there's any other requirement
  • Rockfish : HoS Village, dock, morning (got mine at about 5am probably ok til 9am)
  • Crucian Crap : "Lake" beside Ancient Cromlech, morning (got mine at about 8am, probably ok til 9am)
  • Redfin Carp : "River" that Broc Maela is in, evening (got mine at about 6pm, probably ok til 9pm or Wyrdnight at 10pm)

Blooming Friendship - smugglers cave guard. Don't kill him - ask him why you cant enter, then what you need to enter and tell him you want to buy weed, a bag for yourself. Later bring a lot of food, talk to him again and ask if guarding isn't lonely. Keep the conversation up and offer him food. And more food. And more food..man that weed really kicked in for him. When you run out (or rather he runs out of stomach space) he'll go to sleep and get you the achievement
mostly in Cuanacht
The Cost of Curiosity - you'll need to find a Croakmaw that's actually sleeping - there's one on the opposite shore just left of that pink tree on the map If you entered the region from the gate closer to allmother temple you should find a way down past the first fork in the road. Try not to wake it, approach the it's head and a "pet" option should appear. Better save before doing that cause it'll bite your hand off.

Ailei’s Healthcare System - in Cuanacht there's a hospital and the girl inside (Ailel) will tell you how she's struggling to manage it, starting a small chain of quests

Shouldn't Have Done That - There's a few Strawfather minibosses hiding in the wheatfields of Cuanacht. Just treat them with something that inflicts burning (like a fire spell).

Last One of the Season - it's in a cave close to Camelot gate in the middle of the north side of the Cuanacht region. You might need to follow the alchemists guild questline(starting with either the medic in Horns of the South telling you to find Taranis, or perhaps just finding him on your own in an ancient cave, waiting for you to kill a Mistbearer for him) up to the first quest in Cuanacht and take a sidequest from a dryad locked up in the basement of the hut where you're supposed to find research notes.

Forged in Loss - in the island asylum find a letter about a woman and her newborn child (might be in the cell with a skeleton merged with a child skeleton), find Erfyr the smith in Cuanacht, do his quest to save Beor so he can think about anything else, then talk to him and give the letter

Shackles of Faith - go into the Corrupted temple (NW corner of the map) and complete the quest that should pop up after a little walking around the area (mostly find the npc bearing the voice - when you find a set of two elevators right next to each other then one should lead you there, then go where markers lead you to find the local bosses and "allmother"). This might actually be story-related and unmissable, but you can do it before the main quest leads you here.

The Sporeborn King - in Sagremor Depths after dealing with Claire and the Midwife before going to the throne room enter the chapel near the Midwifes room, accept the invitation of the mushroom-headed man and agree to the mycellums proposal, then when you meet king Sagremor choose the option to use the mycellums spore

That is correct. I don't list many achievements I didn't get myself. Some I list as unconfirmed, but many I'm not sure what one needs to complete, so I'll be adding them when I get them
Solfalia 23 hours ago
You're missing quite a few achievements in the list. I count 47 in your list I think, and there are 60
Good thing that they fixed fishing finally , but looks like achievement will be also fixed soon so we will need to catch 35 fish species , at least in patch note written that achievement will be adjusted accordingly. So take your time to get it now until it still 6/6

The patch made the fishing achievement much more doable, perhaps even easy. I don't know how much easier it is though since I only needed 2 more fish at the time of the update.

I wonder if loading a savegame that has all 6 fish types will unlock the achievement. Can anyone that has the achievement upload it? I'm so tired of trying to fish only to get Bream
StDrake  [author] 15 Jun @ 2:06am
Yes it's a big issue, people sit in one place for 3 HOURS before they get anything that's not bream. Others report getting something in 10 minutes in the right time and place, but may have just gotten lucky
Ænon 14 Jun @ 6:11pm
Christ almighty I figured the common bream would be like 50% of the catches with the other 50% being the rest, but instead it feels more like 98.9% Bream, 1% Crab, and .1% everything else.
