Enabling proper anti-aliasing
By Mog
This is a guide for those who would prefer to use MSAA and SGSSAA anti-aliasing instead of the in-built post processing AA. This is for Nvidia hardware although I'm sure something similar can probably be done with AMD cards.

Download Nvidia Inspector
If you don't have it, download Nvidia Inspector here:

Create a profile for The Repopulation
1. Load Nvidia Inspector and select the Profile Settings button (hammer and screwdriver icon).

2. Either edit the profile for "Faxion" or delete it and create a new one for "player_client.exe" in the game's "HeroEngine\PLAYERCLIENTABT" folder.

3. Change your new profile (or Faxion profile) as follows:

Antialiasing compatibility bit: 0x000012C1
Antialiasing Mode: Override Application Setting
Antialiasing Setting: 4x MSAA
Antialiasing - Transparency Super Sampling: 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling
Texture Filtering - LOD Bias: -1.0000

I don't think you can enable MSAA without the SGSSAA and for some it might be quite a performance hit. If you wanted to, you could use 2xMSAA, 2xSGSSAA and -0.5000. You could also do 8xMSAA, 8xSGSSAA and -1.5000 LOD Bias, but it's pretty pointless for the performance trade off IMO.

This should go without saying but... The game is in alpha, so if it causes any issues with your system it's probably best to just disable it. Especially if you're posting bug reports and it has any bearing on what you're posting. Just sharing for anybody that's looking for this.

The compatibility bits are the same as used for SWTOR as they use the same Hero Engine. The current ingame post processing AA looks like árse but luckily this completely eradicates that. I wouldn't be surprised if MSAA is properly implemented once the game gets to Beta or release.
Note About Driver Updates
If you choose to create a new profile instead of editing the Faxion profile, you will find the game's executable is removed from the Repopulation profile when you update drivers. You will need to either delete the Faxion profile before restoring exported profiles, or delete the Faxion profile and re-add the executable to the Repopulation's profile.
