A guide to help you search for all those notes which offer a glimpse at the game's lore and backstory. Right-clicking on these notes for the first time also grants additional experience.
The notes in this guide is mostly in order of appearance throughout the game, but personal gameplay may vary.

I think the guide needs updating. The Etherbrook note no longer spawns in either of those locations. Atleast for me anyhow.

Thank you for the guide. I was feeling like I was supposed to come across more notes in-between the guaranteed ones, and now I can read them on the Wiki to not deal with the randomized ones.

Not in this list - Wald's note - can be found on a corpse on the western edge of theRotting Croplands, where the big harpy pack is.

Also it might worth mentioning that I found The Last Will of Marthos Everbrook in a corpse in that house, not from a breakable shelf or anything. Also close to the body, there was a random note form act 1, 1 of the criminal records. My guess based on this is that we can actually find probably all the earlier random notes in later acts, which is a usefull information, since we dont have to grind low level/level capped content in order to get all the notes, we can just go to the current last act, and do our thing there.

interesting, 5 of my characters found the Last Will it in the first location, with my 6th character it was in the second location. ill look into it, and try to increase my sample size. it DOES appear to be guaranteed, though, meaning 1 copy of the Last Will will spawn in every game instance, it just seems that the locations might not be the same.

as for Act 2's random notes, they only drop off of the lecterns in those 2 maps (same as the Forgotten Passage fragments needed for the quest), hence the copy paste. hope that clears it up for you.

I checked 5 times the mentioned 2 locations for The Last Will of Marthos Everbrook, but never got it. Then I went to search for possible other locations for the note, and found it above ur 2nd location(it is on ur screenshot too) in the house which lookslike a "+". Since you are saying it's not a random loot, I assume maybe u circled in the wrong house?:)

Also u copypasted act 2's random notes' 2 lectern locations.(They are in the guaranteed note section too for some reason).
