Introduction
Hello there, Blockstormers!

My name is Firm Mathers, your boring buttsauce awesome and sharp writer on the battlefield (and on the table too, but I digress)!

Now, seeing that you are pretty new to this game (Or old veteran-esque. In that case you will probably don't need this guide), I will guide you from the Assault zone, right to the Defender's Base area! And make sure you stay there and taking covers (which will probably crumble down to dust from that very, very M240). All those nades, rockets and bullets do not have mercy, so don't even beg for it.

The (Very) Basics
Blockstorm is a voxel-based shooter, much like Minecraft. This means that the game is rendered in polygons, in case of Blockstorm, cubes.

This also mean that you can also destroy blocks, making the game maps totally dynamic. You can even demolish buildings down with various sorts of weaponry!

First thing first, you will be greeted by the team selection screen when you first join a game of Team Deathmatch, Assault, Capture the Point, or Castle Battle (delicious brand new mode!).

After you have selected your team, you are met with the character selection screen. Choose your dude (aesthetic), mate!

There are 3 tabs, Built-In, Custom, and Downloads.

http://cloud-2.steamusercontent.com/ugc/530635213044476436/42A37C850AD44FC0C34DD85253D5F950C985E863/256x0.resizedImage

For example, this is my character, created with the in-game Character Editor, found in the Custom tab. I will choose him for this guide.

Next, the equipment selection menu. This is where the fun REALLY starts.

http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/530635213044479555/940E18C0BB9C43404C5B6E1A5A636DFBCA3C9BF2/256x0.resizedImage

You can have one Primary weapon (AK47, Rifle, Sniper Rifle, MP5, Shotgun, or M240), one Secondary weapon (Pistol, Shorty 12 Gauge, or Uzi), explosives (2 Grenades, 2 C4s, 2 Claymores, or a round of a frickin' RPG. Fatal stuff), 100 cubes, a shovel, and a knife. We will go in-depth on these weapons soon enough.

Oh, and you also have weapon skins, a recently added features (that all the Blockstormers went bananas about) that allows you to select skins, obviously! You can make one (or few, or dozens) in the Equipment Editors, or subscribe some from the Workshop (currently broken). Click on the Rubik Cube icon on the top right of the weapons icon, and browse through there.

Alright, my loadout's set, and I am ready to go. Let's spawn.

Okay, I am in the game world now. Now what?

To navigate the world, you use your WSAD keys, your space bar, and your mouse. I don't really think I should explain on this one.

To jump, you press space bar! And apparently, you actually jump like it's on the moon. Talking about SPACE bar, lads!

http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/530635213044574716/2834F2051CD2E8D407E6EF74B94AF132681EBE05/256x0.resizedImage

To aim (increases accuracy, optional), hold/click (if on toggle mode) right mouse button. To shoot, click (and hold, if applicable) your left mouse button. Moving your mouse too much will also decrease your accuracy.

Switch your weapons with your mouse wheel, or use your number keys (1-6)!

Like said in the beginning, since Blockstorm is voxel-based, you can destroy just about everything (Minus adminium. Those things are freaking unbreakable), with your guns, explosives, or your shovel.

Your main objective is to kill as many opponents as possible (Deathmatch), along with your teammates (Team Deathmatch). Or take over your opponents' base (Assault). Or maybe just take the damn flags and Scout your way back without being shot dead (Capture the Flag), or fortify your team's base within the 5-minutes timeframe against the M240-wielding treasure destroyers (Castle Battle), or get those Blocktanium back to your base while being chased around by murderous zombies and players (Hunt).

Weapons (Primary)
INFORMATION LEAKED DIRECTLY FROM GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY THE DEVS OF BLOCKSTORM.

AK47

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy have 100-70% health:

Headshot: 70% (1-2 shots to kill)
Bodyshot: 29% (3-4 shots to kill)
Limbshots: 26% (3-4 shots to kill)

Other Infos:

Type: Assault Rifle, 7.62x39mm
Magazine Size: 30
Max Ammo: 120 (90 rounds in reserve)

AK-47. This is your good ol' fashioned assault automatic weapon of choice. The AK-47 is a hard-hitting 30-rounds assault rifle that fires 7.62x39mm rounds, with the recoil swaying the gun up and sometimes to the side, hard enough that you can actually feel it. You really need to pull down the gun and maybe a small bit to the side too in order to control the recoil AND to slightly make the gun more accurate.

Weighing in at 5.5kg, this powerful automatic rifle is slightly heavier than the Rifle and Sniper. This also means that it is also as heavy as the MP5. And I thought it would weigh 6kg.

This Kalashnikov will definitely do you good in CQB and mid-range combat, heck even long range, providing that you are lucky enough and that you can control your spray/bursts/taps.

MP5

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy health is 100-70%:

Headshot: 49% (2-3 shots to kill)
Bodyshot: 24% (3-5 shots to kill)
Limbshots: 15% (5-7 shots to kill, that's a lot!)

Other Info:

Type: Submachine Gun, 9x19mm
Magazine Size: 30
Max Ammo: 120 (90 rounds in reserve)

MP5 is an assault rifle a submachine gun that fires 9x19mm rounds, the same as the Handgun.

For beginners, this gun is very forgiving, as its recoil is somewhere between 'it's there' and 'non-existent'. This allows you to control its recoil rather easily, much easier than, say, your AK47.

Though, it also comes with an obvious downside. Since it fires rather small rounds (thus low recoil), it also means low damage, unless, of course, you are one of a kind sharpshooter who can spray your gun better than an aimbotter and hit the target with every shots fired, not to mention shooting your enemy(ies) first before they do. That I can't fathom.

Its weight is 4.5kg (as of the Mecha update). Now it's lighter than (almost) all primaries!

Rifle

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy's health is 100-70%:

Headshot: 100% (One shot kill. Fatality guaranteed.)
Bodyshot: 53% (2 shots to kill)
Limbshots: 35% (2-3 shots to kill)

Other Info:

Type: Semi-Automatic Rifle, 7.62x39mm
Magazine Size: 8
Max Ammo: 48 (40 rounds in reserve)

The Rifle is all you need for full head-on assault, and back-line support. Shooting the same rounds as the AK47 (7.62x39mm), this thing also carries the same recoil as its automatic counterpart. Or maybe slightly less...

But in all seriousness, since the Rifle is semi-automatic, recoil becomes something you will never have to worry about (ever). Since it deals much more damage than any other primaries in overall (except for Sniper), it can be very useful to marksmen. People with quick target acquisition and sharp aiming would be nearly invincible with this weapon, especially when played as the team's support in the back, or simply unstoppable when played as a frontline assault. This is by far, in my honest opinion, the most powerful weapon in the game when done right.

As long as you can dance on the floor (or in contrast, stay stiller than incomplete atoms that somehow do not have electrons in them), and maybe an itchy trigger finger, this very semi-auto can cover you, ranging from absolute point blank, to the point where the enemies are covered in fog, which is absurdly far if you think about it.

Weighs at 5kg, which is lighter than most of the weapons.
Weapons (Primary, cont.)
Sniper Rifle

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy's health is 100-70%:

Headshot: 100% (Very dead.)
Bodyshot: 100% (Fatal.)
Limbshots: 100% (Lethal.)

Other Infos:

Type: Bolt-Action Rifle, .308 Winchester
Magazine Size: 1 (Yes, you only get 1 shot)
Max Ammo: 10 (9 rounds in reserve)

Sniper Rifle, my sweet sweet love.

The Sniper Rifle, based on its ability to break just about any blocks (minus adminium) to pieces in one shot (same goes for people) and its design, possibly carries .308 Winchester. This make this gun very lethal on the field, especially to quickscopers. I am serious.

With only one shot in the chamber, you better be careful on where you aim, really. One. Shot. Miss it, and you may spell your own doom (and even your team).

It is obviously meant to be a support weapon from far, far away.
person in the field. You will be controlling about 1/3 of the map area with this beast, providing that you can aim well.

The Sniper Rifle weighs in at, oddly enough, 5kg. Same as the Rifle.

BONUS TIP: If you have played Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and have used the sniper rifle SSG08 before, you may notice that when you jump while aiming with it, at the peak of the height of that jump, the scope's accuracy becomes a perfect 100%. This is known as a 'jumpshot'.

The same seems to apply with the Sniper Rifle, albeit with slightly less accuracy. This can be prove to be extremely useful to take down an enemy from close to mid-range, simply by aiming, then jumping out of a tall cover about 4-5 blocks tall (eg. the crate stack in Bridge Pass at Mid Tower), then, at the peak of the height, hardscope the enemy. You will hit them 6 out of 10 times, and they won't be aware of where the heck you shot from or even how (especially in chaos), I guarantee you.

M240

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy's health is 100-70%, at point blank:

Headshot: 70% (Two shots.)
Bodyshot: 33% (Four.)
Limbshots: 30% (Cuatro!)

Other Info:

Type: A Big Machine Gun, 7.62x39mm
Magazine Size: 100 (That's a lot!)
Max Ammo: 300 (200 rounds in reserve)

The BFG, the Big Bullet Hose, the Shredder, whatever you want to call it, it's just absurdly powerful.

The M240 is one of those weapons that have an insanely high RoF (and as a natural side effect, astonishingly uncontrollable recoil) and will murder just about anyone in it's path (at short range) in about 0.77 seconds, as long as you pull down the trigger long enough.

Aside from using it at short to mid range, you will have to tap the gun for long range (heck, maybe even mid range!) to even have a chance to kill. It's accuracy is pretty darn terrible for killing someone at long range. Seriously, don't bother trying. It's not worth it trading in your stealth elements.

Shotgun
:

Stats (Damage per Pellet), assuming enemy's health is 70-100%:

Distance of 1 block: 100%
Distance of about 10 blocks, ± by 2: 1%
Average reduction of damage per block: 10%

The Shotgun fires 4 pellets per 1 shot, so the lethal range would be around 1-7 blocks, assuming that you can somehow land all those 4 pellets. Somehow.

Other Infos:

Type: Pump-Action Shotgun, 12 Gauge Buckshot
Magazine Size: 4 (Number of sides of a rectangle)
Max Ammo: 32 (28 buckshots in reserve)

Perfect for CQB and running the mill, the Shotgun is your larger boomstick that will blast someone's face off if you can get close enough.

With 4x4 shots, you can just run around the big M240-wielding guy and obliterate him to bits. Does this remind you of something?
Weapons (Secondary)
Handgun

Stats (Damage per Shot) (assuming enemy have 100-70% health):

Headshot: 90% (1-2 shots to kill. Rapid fire for best result)
Bodyshot: 28% (3-4 shots to kill)
Limbshots: 25% (3-4 shots to kill)

More Info:

Type: Pistol, .45 ACP
Magazine Size: 8
Max Ammo: 48 (40 rounds in reserve)

The Handgun is your basic survival backup if your primary somehow ran out of ammo. This is an amazing secondary, especially if you have low-cap primary (Rifle, Sniper and Shotgun). With its headshot damage at around 90%, you could potentially sneak (and stalk) on someone and shoot them in the back in the head for quick, clean, and effective method to kill someone. The only side effect would be 50 Shades of Red(corpian), but I digress.

The Handgun is Rifle's little relative, only a bit more inaccurate and with less weight (1.5kg. Good stuff), because, you know, secondary weapons. But otherwise, if you find yourself with your primary's magazine ammo out and no time to reload, then this will do as your second final resort (the last being the Knife, but good luck with that).

With only 8 bullets in the magazine, you better aim at your enemy well and hope for the best, before spamming some/all of those 8-ballers into your enemy's skull/heart/liver/whatever.

Shorty 12G

Stats (Damage per pellet), assuming enemy's health is 100-70% (VERY INACCURATE, AS MANY FACTORS ARE NOT ADDED IN):

Distance of 1 block: 100 (assumed)
Distance of about 10 blocks, ± by 2: 1
Average reduction of damage per block: 10

Since the Shorty fires 3 pellets at one time, we can assume that the lethal distances would be around 1-6 blocks (hyperbolical, shot angles and falloff factors not added in) if all 3 pellets somehow hit the target.

Other Info

Type: Double-Barreled Shotgun (functionally)/Pump-Actioned Shotgun (appearance), 12 Gauge Buckshot
Magazine Size: 2 (Aim well)
Max Ammo: 8 (6 buckshots in reserve)

Now skipping the (veri veri complex) math of inverse proportion, the Shorty 12G is your mini-boomstick that will guarantee to end someone's life within 2 shots, providing that you can aim and that you are close to him/her.

It weighs 2kg, which is about 33% heavier than your regular Handgun.

With only 2 shots in the barrel, you better not mess it up.

The spread increases as you move, so if you want some mid-range action, try standing still.

Uzi

Stats (Damage per Shot), assuming enemy's health is 100-70%:

Headshot: 39% (2-3 shots to kill)
Bodyshot: 24% (3-5 shots to kill)
Limbshots: 21% (4-5 shots to kill)

Other Info

Type: Submachine Gun (SMG), 9x19mm (likely) or .45 ACP
Magazine Size: 30
Max Ammo: 120 (90 rounds in reserve. Good stuff.)

Think of a slightly weaker Handgun, with full-auto capability and an extended mag, and then you have this.

The Uzi is one of those 'spray and pray' full automatic, as it's recoil is pretty hard (and rather impossible to control, similar to M240) and its accuracy is all over the place. This make this piece of automatic PDW only effective in CQB with its high fire rate. Anything beyond that is just pure luck, or skills, or both.

Weighing the most at 3kg (or 2 Handguns), this automatic will slow you down pretty significantly.

With 30 rounds in the long as heck magazine, you can definitely spray until your heart's content, or at least until your enemy is loaded with lead. Poisonous, poisonous lead.

Explosives
The RPG

Stats (Damage per rocket), assuming enemy's health is at 70-100%:

1-6 blocks relative to enemy's current position: 100% (Blown to bits and cubes.)
12+ blocks relative to enemy's current position: 0% (Enough to generate some winds, but that's it)

Since the explosive's damage falloff algorithm is pretty much linear, we can assume that the damage will decreases by 17 for each block after the 6th block range.

[/b]Other Infos[/b]:

Type: Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher, possibly 40mm HE warhead
Magazine Size: 1 (GLHF.)
Max Ammo: 1 (none in reserve. Aim well.)

So much booms.

The RPG is your trusty good ol' fashioned portable literal blaster (that carries quite a heft. Ouch.), with the ability to blow up just about any small-sized buildings along with the people inside it. Seriously, try blowing someone up with it right now in-game (and not IRL. That would suck.) if you wish.

At 4kg, it's the heaviest of all explosives. Try not to expose yourself too much.

Oh, and 1 round and no spare. This practically makes the RPG the throwaway weapon. Oddly enough, you still walk as slow as when you have the launcher loaded.
