Grind Spot
Please note: You're going to need the sword to accomplish this, which is located in Tan Line Island's Dungeon.

Our location is the very first area of Spiderweb Island. The zombies that show up from the ground infinitely spawn, and every time you hit their heads, one gem pops out. You simply need to use the sword to continuously bounce on the zombie's head, and gems will flow out of it.

The reason you can't do this with Shantae's hair is because the head moves away when you hit it, and makes it rather slow.

Here's a couple examples (Click on the image for a better view):

If you know of any other gem grinding spots, please let me know, and I'd be more than glad to add it to the guide!

Enjoy those upgrades!

their is a spot in the Desert Palace Place Where you can go through and break like 8 of those giant pots and then go through the door imediantly left of those and back and they respawn

saw this via a video the other day, nice method.
but easier way is if you have the cannon to just hit them twice, then to the side.
then going at them again.
as less chance to get hit, thats if you have the cannon already. :bbtcat:

I remember discovering this! So much fun pogo sticking Zombie heads with a sword... The zombies in general are just so much fun to fight, from their permanent smiles to their hoots of excitement when you knock their heads off. And the zombie parties don't stop either because they keep coming!

For an easy way to get gems early on in the game, simply purchase 3x Monster Milk from the vendor in Scuttle Town for 130 Gems, then run to the left of Scuttle Town to the Mayor. He'll request Monster Milk because he's depressed and give you 50 Gems for each one. Rinse and repeat a handful of times and those 20 free Gems per 3-pack adds up.

I think this is probably the quickest way to get gems alone, but I find that the quickest, easiest and most satisfying way to grind for gems AND food at the same time without getting hurt is by going somewhere with a lot of flat land like Tan Line Island and just ploughing through all the enemies in Risky's boots. If you're looking for super monster milk, just massacre the scorpgals. You'll find a lot of pike balls and super pike balls dropped by the skeletons on the bridge to where you find He-Ma-- I mean, Bran-Son's sword. Tan Line Island in general is just item drop heaven.

Is this wall. 100 Gems are inside of it. Just keep going in and out of that door in the first screenshot. You'll be at max gems in no time at all.

There's a section in the palace or whatever on Tan Line Island where there's a bunch of large pots full of gems behind a false wall, and a few more non-hidden ones slightly above those. If you break and collect them all you get 100 gems. There's a door to the left of the false wall, so you can just walk in and out of that door to reset them and get another 100 gems over and over. I want to say ti's an area under some of the climbing chains going to the left? The doorway room has a mouse in it. This is in that big confusing area that you do the stealthy section in
