Description
Arctool lets you unpack and repack all the ARC files in the game (these are container files containing all the game assets). And it can also convert some specific file formats used by the game such as TEX (textures), XFS (used for defining various gameplay variables and scripts), LOT (used for defining enemy positions and related enemy information), and GMD (text).
Download and usage
Download links:
https://www.fluffyquack.com/tools/ARCtool.rar (tool itself)
https://www.fluffyquack.com/tools/ARCtool-PC-batch.rar (batch files with game presets)

Basic usage:
- Drag and drop arc files onto pc-dd to unpack, or drag and drop directories onto pc-dd to repack.
- Use command prompt, and write "pc-dd [arcfilename]" to unpack, or "pc-dd [dir]" to repack.

You can enable functionality for converting additional file formats. Edit pc-dd.bat with a text editor and add these arguments to it, or add them in your command line syntax when using command prompt:
  • -tex (converts textures to and from DDS)
  • -xfs (converts gameplay variables/scripts to and from XML)
  • -lot (converts enemy definition files to and from text)
  • -gmd (converts binary text files in the game to editable text files)

Note that there are variants of some of these formats which are not yet fully supported by arctool.

hello. My question is, how can I convert a TXT file to GMD?

would this still work for dragons dogma 2?

Is there a way to properly use Arctool with Lost Planet 1/2/Dead Rising 1? I can get it to unpack those game's arc files but I don't think it's doing it properly/extracting all files.

Hi, I am brand new to attempting to mod (if I'd even call my request modding) for Dragon's Dogma Dark Risen. I have a DDS file for female texture that I want to swap into Dragon's Dogma Dark Risen. I am familiar with Bethesda games and modding, so I am in bad shape over here as it is very different. I just want to swap out the body texture for the females, not planning on doing any editing of the file. Everything that I have seen so far, seems extraordinarily complicated in order to just overwrite a texture. What exactly do I need to do? Also, I have this game setup/managed via MO2, I also downloaded both ARC tools. I prefer going through a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 so that I don't have to change or mess around with the actual game files directly. I am certain that what is needed on my end is a heck of a lot easier than what I have been reading through various sites.

Hello there, I've been using your tools for the last 5 years or so and they're incredible.

But, you cannot unpack or repack multiple .arc at once (as far as I know that is) using the provided batch files, and I needed to unpack EVERY .arc from RE5.

I reached out to a friend of mine who did just that: a small tool that spawns one instance of ARCTool for each .arc contained into a folder (or multiple folders even). It requires ARCTool itself, of course. It works with every game that ARCTool supports.

That way, you can litteraly unpack and repack the whole game in one go.
I thought it may be of interest to you, and also people who want to add cutscene support in RE5/6. It's easier to find and replace all instances of one texture that way.
Made a thread about it on the RE forums (RE6 sub-forum) with a tutorial video. You can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil6/mods/100
Thank you again for making this tool, and have a nice day! :uc_umbrella:

fRikimaru: That sounds like something you can do via texture editing, so yeah, arctool would help in that regard. If you google resident evil modding boards you should find forums with some guides on how to mod RE6 (and other MT Framework games).

I'm looking for a way to remove some button icons and such in RE6, is this the program I need to do so? I don't understand how it works yet thou

It's been awhile, but I stumbled across this out there.. it's a list of model IDs for equipment. I don't know if this is common knowledge, I'll link it here though:
