Making the Cleaver the ultimate killing machine
By KILO-DELTA-MIKE
Hi there carmafans!

In this guide i will show you how to turn the Cleaver from a fragile and unreliable car , into an effective and destructive killing machine.

Let's start from analyzing the car:

1st Quite fast and easy to drive, much similar to the Eagle's handling, very agile and fairly light

2nd A big con is the fact that is soft as ♥♥♥♥♥. This make it virtually useless in fighting, since taking combats in the typical way of ramming into your opponents, will basically turn you into a pile of scrap.

3rd This car has some interesting weaponry: spinning blades mounted on it's wheels, capable of ripping opponent's tyres and some times body parts off.

So basically it handles well but trying to face almost any opponent by ramming them, is quite useless; yet we have some sweet blades on our wheels.

What you have to do is to change your fighting technique!

This car is designed for quick hit and run using it's blades, the best way to land some good shots is to hit your opponents at high speed with your side, in order to let your blades tear them apart!
The trick is to aim at your target, pickup a good speed and use your wheelspin (LSHIFT) to quickly turn your car on the run and hit hard while drifting towards him.

This will pack a stunning amount of damage, also rewarding you with a lot of money, and most of times without hurting you.

An excellent technique is to pop your opponent's tyres quickly as possible (use your wheelspin to turn around your opponent, you can pop them just by the touch), if you hit hard enough you will rip the whole wheel off leaving him sitting ducks, and yes this can be achieved on all the cars in the game: immagine leaving don dumpster, stuck in his plow crying while you are slowly blending it one piece at the time, you can easily achieve this with some driving skills.

you can even take on police acp's without any fear.

After leaving your opponent stuck on the floor, you can easily hit them over and over by ramming using your sides, this will reward you with tons of dealt damage, and thousands of credits per hit. You will end up with hundred thousands credits in minutes, allowing you to repair your car without going bankrupt.

On most of the opponent cars you will be able to hit them this way until you will deliver a killing blow, wasting them. Still some of them are so hard that this kind of attack could not be enough to finally take 'em out, such as Towmeister, Plow and possibly the lumberer.
You expected me to add the acp to the list...aaaand nope! i had the proof that some well landed shots can easily kill it :D.
However, in order to take those big guys out you will need some extra help, such as using some offensive powerups and finish the job, but since you probably picked up a good amount of credits, you can invest some into an anvil launcher bought from the PIS.

Take your time and learn how to drive the Cleaver properly, i suggest you to use a steam controller mapped with raven's 1.5 controls, which includes a quick wheelspin command on the right trigger click function.

Remember that this fighting style is not meant for quick victory. it wil take some time to kill all your opponents, yet it will be very satisfying and funny, over the fact that will give you a lot of money at the end of the race, which means you can unlock new stages, very fast.

Probably somebody asked himself if this can be applied to Shredlight... well theorically yes, but Shredlight's handling is vey rigid and hard to control at high speeds, i prefer using Cleaver because it has a very smooth turning and it does not shake around nervously.

So yeah this is pretty much it, i hope you will find this interesting and useful :D

Have a nice play!
