Introduction
From Brewall's site[www.eqmaps.info]:
"My collection of in-game maps are all contained in the zip file linked below. These are best-of maps that I have put time into cleaning up, clarifying, and correcting. Better yet, I’ve quested from original EQ to present and added enormous numbers of hunter/named/quests/merchants and etc."
How to install
  • Download the ZIP file of the maps[www.eqmaps.info]
  • Unzip the contents
  • Locate where EverQuest installed on your computer; typically the C:\[...]\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P\ folder.
  • Create a new folder called Brewall under Everquest’s map folder (e.g. C:\[...]\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P\maps\Brewall)
  • Copy the unzipped map files to this folder.
  • Start EQ and login with one of your characters
  • Open your map window, in the upper left corner, you should see a dropdown box. Select Brewall.

Note: I do not recommend placing custom maps in the main maps folder. The reason for this is that every time EverQuest starts, it overwrites 100 zones with default maps. When this happens, any custom geometry is lost and labels will often duplicate

The maps seem to work on some of my characters but not on others. How can I fix that?

Thank you that was quite helpful! There a lot of default maps missing and I haven't played EQ for like 20 years and I can't remember so very much.

Tysm took alot of attempts but what I didn't understand was the new folder needs to be inside the maps folder. This is what mad the difference.

that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.…

Me & my brother just returned yesterday after 18 years , the last eq era we experienced was from 1999 to shadow of luclin

The first thing we do is teleport to Freeport and Nek forest leveling up clearing orc camp in commonland , then we head out and conquered befallen , finally get rid of that zone i never got to clear it in my childhood

I was under the impression that they were talking about the Steam version, as they posted here: The location for Steam would be the default location you have set for files installed through it.

if you install from EQ installer it's the C:/user......
if you install through Steam C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P\maps

Looking for the maps folder through Steam.
Go to the properties for the game, select the tab for local files, and click browse local files. There will be a folder titled maps.

Running EQ F2P, Win 10. Can't find the EQ file. I have the maps un-zipped on my desk top. Any ideas where the folder might be ? It isn't under "users-public".
