Unlock Nightmare + Skip intro videos

This guide shows you how to unlock Nightmare mode for all campaigns without having to play through on a lower difficulty first! Also includes a way to disable intro videos.

Launch Options

Simply add the following launch options to your game to unlock Nightmare mode for each campaign (make sure you include a space between each option).

[Main]
+set g_nightmare "1"

[Resurrection of Evil]
+set g_roeNightmare "1"

[Lost Mission]
+set g_leNightmare "1"

[Skip Intro]
+set com_skipintrovideos 1

BONUS
Disable console (prevents accidentally opening it and disabling achievements)
+set com_allowconsole 0

These will not disable achievements! (Confirmed as I was able to complete a nightmare run on RoE & LM after using these and got the achievements for both.)

For reference this is what it should look like with all launch options:
+set com_allowconsole 0 +set com_skipintrovideos 1 +set g_nightmare "1" +set g_roeNightmare "1" +set g_leNightmare "1"

it wont disable achievements but will i get the achievement for the veteran run aswell if i play through it once on nightmare

Thanks! I wanted to play on Nightmare setting, too. More than 12 hours in on Veteran now. Too late! haha

Damn bro thank you, i wanted to get all achievements but i had to reset my pc and lost my savefile, i was going to lose my mind when i didnt see the nightmare option available

Thank you for your help. I reinstalled the game, and lost my saves - and Nightmare was locked. This worked perfectly.

thanx for this...I usually don't really mind intro vids too much but this game has this weird thing (at least fer me) where the audio plays first for the Bethesda one before the video even plays, then it plays the Beth one for like half second, and then the id one plays super fast and cuts off at the end before it finished. So yeah...Maybe just a port problem or a personal problem but annoying nonetheless, so thanks! Only issue really I had with this BFG edition aside from not having separate volume sliders for sound FX and music. It's all just... "volume". Like wtf is that man?
