[Team] Bulldozer's Ultra Tactical Team (BUTT)
Autorstwa: Caféine
Its funny to play with, everybody potentially has one, you can show it to your friends and beat people with it... it's... it's...

The B.U.T.T. ! The Bulldozer's Ultra Tactical Team (pun intended, lame name intended) !

Let's learn everything about it ; how to make your own BUTT, how a BUTT works, etc.

Yes this is childish, but, oh, come on, this is a game with farting mushrooms and a gigantic toilet city.

How can i acquire a BUTT ?
Hello everyone ! Today i'm going to show you a quick way to build a polyvalent and strong team out of nothing special. Let's start from a new game : you are going to need ;

  • 6 humans (the first four are given with the first three story mission, so you'll have to recruit two more).
  • 6 small swords (our dear spanish girl already has one)
  • 4 to 6 throwing objects and 0 to 2 nets.
  • 6 armor-less hats/hair styles (lightest ones)

And that's it !

Wait, that's rubbish !
"That's where you're wrong kiddo !"

(NB ; hit points are evaluated for multiplayer, might vary vs. AI)

Your will have a very, very homogeneous team ;
  • 4 tiles of movement per turn (excellent mobility) (5 tiles for your hero !)
  • 1x or 2x 3-4 damage up to 3 tiles away from the target
  • 2x 3-5 damages, can hit two targets each turn
  • Excellent dodging capacity (your main defense !)

With six of those, you have an excellent swarming capacity. With good positioning and good thinking, you can beat a lot of players in the pit, and any kind of AI team ! The key is to surround key targets and deliver a serious collective beating.

I have beaten the unfair challenge in the pit twice with it in regular difficulty.

UPDATE
I have beaten the insane unfair challenge with this build. It took three attempts (reached the third wave every time but had trouble beating it). Here's the proof (plus, i have the achievement freshly unlocked) ;
Here's right after beating the wave, the red skull is still visible on the top right corner.
Here's the score screen.

Three waves, one fighter down, that's all folks !
The strategy ; how to use your BUTT correctly
  • Put as much fighters as you can around any available key target. Is a key target ;
    • Any isolated enemy (yes, even a gorgon, a troll mom, a cyclope or a hair troll !)
    • Cupcakes, archers, fairies, robots, octoclops/wraith, goblins (if healing robots), vampiresses are all priority targets (by order of value).
    • Anything you consider to be dangerous for you or useful to the enemy team
    • Other kind of enemies are not to be focused on immediately.
  • Hit enemies with heavy helms with throwing objects only, as a small sword will only deal 2x1 damage points.
  • Hit enemies with medium helms or lower with anything you have, with a preference for close combat.
  • Hit enemies with large shields with swords only. If they also have a heavy helm, avoid contact unless you have no choice.
  • Move your units frequently, use your mobility to surprise the enemy and move your wounded around to make them survive longer.
  • Split the team when needed ; distracting archers with a lone fighter is good, having two team of three will reduce the chances of being blocked by the enemy team. You can also leave one or two fighter to finish a wounded enemy and send the rest on another target.
  • Use the net in combination with throwing items for annoying target or if you are low on life.
  • Trap units with nets and your units when you can, try to push to split his team and then isolate it.
  • When together, your team is VERY tanky : it's common to lose no warrior at all even on a hard fight.
  • Try to avoid ; heavy helms + heavy shields combo bearers, mushrooms on contact, spidaurs.
  • If you can't go next to your target because there isn't enough room, your throwing objects will deal extra damage.
  • you can outrun enemies with two tiles moves (mushrooms, cyclopes...) and throw objects at them at the same time.
  • use elemental (ice, fire...) swords for extra fun.
Against what is my BUTT strong ?
  • "Natural" swarmers ; zombies, troll moms, kobolds get killed quickly as your fighters can hit twice and negate enemy dodge.
  • "Full archers" ; your fighters deal extra damage to those.
  • "Full key target" ; team with lots of robots, with lots of fairies... etc.
  • "Three bigs" ; a enemy team with three hair trolls/gorgons/cyclopes will get surrounded pretty quickly, and that means death in most cases. Hair trolls might get tricky as they are really powerful, but you can beat them, no worries.
  • With good strategy, (almost, see below) any kind of build is beaten. (Well, that's the case for every team, i know, but here it makes all the difference)
Against what is my BUTT weak ?
  • Team with spidaurs in them are harder to beat. They immobilise your fighters, impair your manoeuvers, do a decent amount of damage up close and protect key targets on their backs. If they wear a heavy helm on the top of that, well good luck.
  • Teams with 3-4 heavy helm + large shield combos ; you can't do much, as most of your damages are negated. You might try to outrun them and throw, but that will take so much time you'll end stuck somewhere and get killed.
  • Teams with mushrooms in them are trickier to beat, as they cannot be safely surrounded (nets in combination with throwing items are recommended, try to make your team adopt a position where only 2 people can be poisoned at once.
  • For this team to be effective, you'll have to use blitzkrieg tactics (seriously, it looks like it). Mistakes can happen and they make all the difference ; think a lot before moving your fighters to a certain point.
A note on nets
If you're going to recruit things out there, bring two nets in your team, it might come in handy. It can also make a difference if you're against enemies with lots of protection ; trapping them with a net will allow you to throw objects from a closer distance without risks and thus have a higher chance to hit the target.
Conclusion
That's it ! I hope i was clear enough (and understandable, don't forget to point out any mistake i might have done in english).

You now have a strong, easy to build, early game team that can provide lots of fun both in multiplayer and solo, versus AI or not.

Please leave a "Thank you !" or a BUTT joke if this guide helped you, or if you enjoyed reading it. Good game to everyone !

With my level 16 BUTT I took down two spidaurs and three vampiresses and took only 3 damage.

Noiiiicccceeee. Thanks for the info. Hear that people ? The BUTT is back into the game !

Yes, the BUTT is not as good as it used to be, BUTT it still works.
It takes a bit to get 4 throwing items and some poison swords but yes it is still a good strategy.

The name of this sounds like something I'd see in kliksphillip's Super Helpful In-depth Tutorials.

Also, nice guide.

No don't worry, since the huge nerf, this team isn't worth much. The only thing i haven't tried yet is using elemental (ice, poison...) swords, and i don't think it will improve the team that much.
