STEP 1. Select "Create a Room"
I hope I'm not losing you here.

STEP 2. Create 3 "Invite Only" slots
It's complicated, but we're almost done. Hang in there!

STEP 3. Select "Send an Invite" through the in-game chat menu
You access and navigate this menu by using the ARROW KEYS.

STEP 4. Success
Assuming you have friends, scroll to them in the invitation window that opens up with the overlay after selecting "Send an Invite". They can then join your private room.

Your friends will NOT see your private room in the PUBLIC LOBBY menu. They can ONLY join through an invite sent through the in-game chat menu. Sending invites through your friends list

DOES

NOT

WORK.

CONGRATULATIONS! No-longer do you have to make a public room with comments such as "DONT JOIN OR KICK" or "PRIVATE FRIENDS ONLY". ONLY YOU can keep the public lobby free of clutter.

The worst part is that some of them don't even put "private room" or whatever (the ones who make public rooms that they claim are private are still annoying but less so). Every single room I join feels like a 50/50 of whether I'll get randomly kicked by some dude with 0% completion

Guys, we figured it out. Make sure in step number 2 if you have any players in the "everyone is welcome" section, you need to use the A and D keys to remove those players and reallocate them to the invite only players. Hopefully that makes sense because in my case, it was showing 3 players for everyone is welcome and 0 in invite only, that made sense to me (you know cause no players will join til you invite)
So again, reallocate the players using the A and D keys on your keyboard to invite only to make a private room

You're doing it wrong then, you have to make sure to set Everyone is welcome to 0 player(s)

Then no one can join your lobby without invites

Unfortunately, this does not work. People can still join you without invitation.

Jesus christ my previous comment still holds up. RussianBadger forgot to add the part about making lobbies private. That wouldve been a huge help with the newbie incursion

I was wondering why I kept getting kicked from public lobbies. The hell is wrong with people.
