Story achievements
The achievements in this section are very straightforward. Simply play through the main storyline to unlock them.

Completing the main story should not require any grinding, but if you simply want to blaze through, I suggest using stage 5-3 (Chapter 5, third stage) to powerlevel Laharl. To do so, lift and throw all the enemies on top of each other, resulting in one very strong enemy that gives a lot of experience. Make liberal use of stronger enemies bills/triple EXP bills.

Main storyline achievements

  • Prince of the Netherworld : Complete episode 1.

  • Etna's secret : Complete episode 5.

  • Angels, Demons, and Humans : Complete episode 10

  • What lies beyond the battle : Complete episode 14

Etna Mode achievements
You unlock Etna mode after completing the main storyline once. After the credits roll, you will get the option to start Etna Mode. You lose access to the majority of storyline characters during Etna Mode, most notably Laharl and Flonne (although you do get Flonne back near the end of Etna Mode), so you may not want to start Etna Mode right after completing the main storyline. You do keep access to the characters you created through the Dark Assembly. The level of the enemies range from 70 to 250. Now that this is said, on with the achievements.

  • Super Dimensional Etna : Complete chapter 1 of Etna Mode

  • Chronicles of Etnarnia : Complete the final chapter of Etna Mode.
There are 4 chapters in Etna Mode.
EX Bosses achievements
Item World bosses : the (relatively) easy

  • Defeated Item General! : Like the name implies, defeat an Item General.
Item Generals are found on floors 10, 20, 40, 50, 70 and 80 of the Item World, in any item.
Note that you can only go down to floor 30 in the Item World of a normal-quality item, down to floor 60 in the Item World of a rare-quality item (rare-quality items have their names shine silver) and down to floor 100 in the Item World of a legendary-quality item (their names shine gold).

  • Defeated Item King! : Like the name implies, defeat an Item King.
Item Kings are found on floors 30, 60 and 90 of the Item World in any item.

These achivements are very easy if you go into the Item World of an extremely weak item (a Mint Gum would be perfect). However, you will need to go through the Item World to level up items in order to defeat some of the tougher EX Bosses, and you will get these achievements on the way, so I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for them.

EX Bosses : the proper

These achievements should be attempted after clearing the main storyline. I would recommend grinding until level 150 at 14-1 before attempting any of these as well. Do not bother getting beyond level 150, as you will be unlocking a very good grinding stage soon.

I highly recommend taking the time to farm Statistician specialists in the Item World ( up to a level 300 Statistician) before doing any serious grinding. This will speed things up considerably.

To get some good early postgame equipment, consider passing a bill in the Dark Assembly to unlock Prinny Land.
Prinny Land is a short series of extra stages that should be clearable even before finishing the main storyline, and the Prinny God in the last stage has a Testament, that can be repeatedly stolen by a Thief.
I highly recommend taking the time to steal a few Testaments from the Prinny God, in order to give yourself a good headstart in the postgame.

Now, on with the achivements.

  • Cave of Ordeal Cleared! : Clear the Cave of Ordeals stages.
You unlock the Cave of Ordeals by passing a bill at the Dark Assembly. If you do not see the bill, you may need to advance further in the main story (I believe chapter 8 is when it is unlocked), or raise your Demon Rank, by taking Promotion Exams at the Dark Assembly.

There are 5 levels in the Cave of Ordeals. You do not need to clear Demonhall Mirror to get this achievement. It is worth noting that the third stage of the Cave of Ordeals is an excellent grinding map, and probably where you will grind from level 150~200 all the way to level 2500~3000.

I would recommend being level 150 to start clearing the Cave of Ordeals, stopping by the third stage to grind all the way up to level 1000 and then clearing the last two stages. As always, make extensive use of Stronger Enemy bills and Statistician Specialists when grinding.

Cave of Ordeals 5 is the only troublesome stage. You will need two units with a throw range of 6 to reach a zombie on an isolated plaform. Gordon has a throw range of 6, and I recommend making a thief (if you have not done so already) for the purpose of throwing, as they too have a throw range of 6.

Before attemping the following two achievements, I recommend having a character with a main attack stat (either ATK, HIT or INT, depending on the weapon used by that character : INT for spells, HIT for guns, and ATK for all melee weapons. You really shouldn't be using bows.) of 40.000~50.000 or higher.
If you're having trouble reaching that goal, try transmigrating, or going through the Item World to upgrade your equipment. You should have the most powerful stuff available in the shop by now.

  • Defeated Priere : Defeat Priere
To even reach Priere, you will need to pass the "Alternate Netherwold" bill in the Dark Assembly. It is near impossible to pass it normally, which means you will need to pass it by force. As always, if the bill does not show up, try advancing the main storyline or raising your Demon Rank.
If you followed my advice, and have someone with a main attack stat of over 40.000~50.000, the battle should be fairly easy. Do not hesitate to have mages casting Braveheart/Magic Boost on your strongest damage dealer.
A nifty trick you can use is to have a low-level character lift Priere right before you end your turn. If you do not throw her, she will lose her chance to act, but the character lifting her will be dead. This is a good way to gain a few turns of free damage.

  • Defeated Marjoly : Defeat Marjoly
To reach Marjoly, you will need to unlock the "Beauty Castle" stages by passing the "Mysterious Seal" bill at the Dark Assembly. You will also have to beat up the senators to get this one through.
Once that is done, the fight with Marjoly is pretty straightforward, though a bit harder than the fight with Priere.
Priere should be a huge help in this fight, especially since she knows Omega Heal. You can also use the lifting trick (the one you used on Priere) on Marjoly.

  • Defeated Super Overlord Baal! : Defeat Baal
This is where it starts getting serious. Before attempting this achievement, I recommend having a character with a main attack stat of over 200.000 (yes, you read that right). To reach that amount, transmigrate, and level up legendary equipment in the Item World. If you managed to steal a rank 39 legendary weapon in the Item World (such as a Cosmic Blade, Infernal Gun, Durandal, Galactic Staff...), it should do the trick just fine.
I also highly recommend having a thief above level 2000, to steal Baal's equipment.
To reach Baal, you need to have defeated both Priere and Marjoly, and you need to pass the appropriate bill at the Dark Assembly, which I believe is named "???????????".

After a quick stage with a few level 1500~2000 Great Wyrms, you'll be facing off against Baal.
The first thing to do is to steal his equipment : the Super Robo Suit is the best armor in the game, and the Nemesis is the best monster weapon in the game. Stealing these items also has the benefit of significantly lowering Baal's stats.
Next, use 5 mages to cast 5 bravehearts/magic boosts on your strongest damage dealer, and go to town on Baal. Remember to refresh braveheart/magic boost by having one or two mages cast it on your strongest damage dealer every turn.
Make sure to have someone lift Baal every turn, so that he doesn't get to attack you. Baal should go down after a few turns. Congratulations !
Defeating Baal also lets Laharl pass any bill in the Dark Assembly without having to bribe anyone or persuade anyone. The senators just fear you THAT much.
EX Bosses achievements (continued)
The character limit forces me to create a new section, but this section should, for all accounts and purposes, be considered an extension of the previous one.

Item World bosses : the difficult

  • Defeated Item God! : Defeat an Item God
Item Gods lurk on floor 100 of the Item World. To reach floor 100, you must enter the Item World of a legendary-quality item. The level of the Item God depends on the rank of the Item. The Item God of a Mint Gum is going to be pretty weak, while the Item God of a Cosmic Blade is going to be rather hard.
One way to make a fight against an Item God easy, regardless of it's level, is to use a Mr.Gency exit on floor 99, save, go back in the Item World, get to floor 100, and hope an Invincibility geo-symbol spawns. The scout ability "Geo Change" is also useful in trying to get the Invinciblity effect to spawn.

  • Defeated Item God 2! : Defeat an Item God 2

Item God 2s lurk on floor 100 of the Item World of a rank 40 item. To get a rank 40 item, you must generally steal it from an Item God of a legendary rank 39 item. There are a few rank 40 items you can get in other ways. For example, you can steal an Apocalypse axe from an enemy in Demonhall Mirror, the Arcadia you get with Priere is a rank 40 item, and the equipment Marjoly comes with is considered rank 40 as well. For detailed tables on item ranks, you can consult section 11 of this guide.

An Item God 2 is going to be around level 6900, have about 9 million HP and stats between 150.000 and 200.000. Be prepared for a tough fight if you intend to fight him fairly. If you want an easy fight, trying to get Invincibility geo-symbols using the tactic described in the previous achievement still works fine. It is worth noting that an Item God 2 carries a copy of the item it was in. You can aquire multiple Super Robo Suits this way, for example.

  • EX Complete! : Defeat all Extra Bosses.
To earn this achievement, you need to defeat these 13 Ex Bosses :

    • Item General
    • Item King
    • Item God
    • Item God 2
    • Prinny God
    • Astro Carter
    • Adell
    • Rozalin
    • Zetta
    • Priere
    • Marjoly
    • Baal
    • Prinny Baal

I have already covered how to defeat most of them in this guide. I will cover here how to defeat the remaining ones.

    • Prinny God : Located in Prinny Land, is level 100. Fairly easy and doesn't require any particular tactic.

    • Astro Carter : To reach Astro Carter, you must pass the "Human World" bill in the Dark Assembly, and complete the Human World stages. Astro Carter is level 260, and isn't particularly strong. BE AWARE that defeating Astro Carter will give you an ending, thus starting a New Game + (Which means you will have to do the main story all over again.)

    • Adell : To reach Adell, complete the Cave of Ordeals stages to unlock Demonhall Mirror. You will get a different battle in Demonhall Mirror the first several times you beat it. Just keep reentering Demonhall Mirror until you meet Adell. You should be able to beat Adell if you managed to beat Priere and Marjoly. The lifting trick works well here.

    • Rozalin : To reach Rozalin, re-enter Demonhall Mirror after beating Adell. You will now have to fight a battle against both Adell and Rozalin ! They are both fairly strong and have a lot of HP. I recommend stealing Rozalin's equipment right away, since she will be the most troublesome in this fight. Next, throw Rozalin in a corner and have two somewhat beefy characters block her in the corner. This is done to make Rozalin unable to use Rose Thorns, an ability of hers which deals a good amount of damage and inflicts you with every status ailment there is. Once this is done, the battle is pretty straightforward. You can have Priere/your healer heal the people blocking Rozalin, and your damage dealers take out Adell. Take out Rozalin at your leisure afterwards.
You can win this battle with the stats you have after beating Priere and Marjoly, but be prepared for a half-hour long fight if you attempt it this early.

Your reward for beating Rozalin and Adell will be a new grinding map in Demonhall Mirror, which is even better than Cave of Ordeals 3 !

    • Zetta : To reach Zetta, you need to max out Stronger Enemies bills at the Dark Assembly, which requires you to pass 20 Stronger Enemies bills. Once you've done that, talk to the dimensional gatekeeper. She will notice you of something going on in the Stellar Graveyard. Next, undo all the Stronger Enemies bills, and go to the last stage of the Stellar Graveyard. Zetta will be waiting for you there.
The first thing to do in this battle is to destroy the warp geo-symbol and the ally damage geo-symbols. Once that is done, the battle is fairly easy if you have the stats I recommended to beat Baal ( around 200,000 main attack stat). Zetta himself only has 1 movement, so you can abuse that if you're having trouble.

    • Prinny Baal : To reach Prinny Baal, reenter Lord of Terror (where you fought Baal) after beating Baal. Prinny Baal is level 6000 and has REALLY high stats (over a million attack !). You should steal his equipment first, and then use the same strategy you used against Baal to defeat him.
There is, however, a much easier way to defeat Prinny Baal. Have a scout use Geo Change to create some geo-panels on the stage (yes, you can do that), and hope for an Invincibility geo-symbol. Once you get that geo-symbol, you've pretty much won.
You can check which Extra Bosses you've defeated and which ones you are missing by talking to the Male Priest NPC in the Overlord's Castle and consulting the third page of the Dark Record.

The Hyperdrive

  • Got Hyperdrive! : Get the Hyperdrive
To get the Hyperdrive, you must defeat an Item God 2 WITHOUT EXITING THE ITEM WORLD, meaning you must go through all 100 floors in one go. Once you enter that rank 40 item, you must not use a Mr.Gency exit, nor return to the Overlord's Castle, or you will not get the Hyperdrive. Once you defeat the Item God 2 without exiting the Item World, the Hyperdrive will be added to your inventory or warehouse, and this achievement to your collection.
Achievement cleanup
You will probably have earned most of the following achievements in your quest to defeat all the extra bosses of the game. Some of these are a bit tricker, and deserve to be expanded upon.

Get n kills achievements
  • 100 Kills! : Kill 100 enemies

  • 500 Kills! : Kill 500 enemies

  • 1000 Kills! : Kill 1000 enemies

These achievements hardly deserve mention, and you should get them simply by playing through the game. If you really want to farm kills, you can head to 9-1 (first stage of the Stellar Graveyard) to be able to easily kill 9 enemies in one blow there.

Grinder achievements
  • Noob Grinder : Level up a character to level 100
Note that contrary to some of the following achivements , this does not take into account total level. You need to have one or more character above level one hundred.

  • Intermediate Grinder : Level up a character to level 1000
Note that contrary to some of the following achivements , this does not take into account total level. You need to have one or more character above level one thousand. Cave of Ordeals 3 will be your best ally for this one.

  • Grind Professional : Obtain a total level above 5000

To unlock this achievement, the total sum of the levels of all the characters in your party must be above 5000. Which means, if you have 5 level 1000 characters and one level 1 character, you will earn this achievement. Cave of Ordeals and DemonHall mirror are pretty good grinding spots. You can also try capturing high-level monsters once you get a decently powerful character.

  • Grind Master : Obtain a total level above 10,000
This is the same thing as the previous achivement, but you need more levels. The best way to get this one is to capture a bunch of level 1500 wyrms from the first stage of Baal Castle.

Money achivements
  • Super Rich! : Have 1 million HL in the bank
This achivement is fairly self-explanatory, you will probably earn it by playing normally.

  • Tons of Bonus! : Earn 10 million HL at the end of a battle.
To earn this achievement, you must earn 10 million HL in one battle. The amount of HL you earn in a battle is correlated to the sum of the levels of the enemies you defeated in that battle, so to earn this achievement, you need to defeat a lot of high-level enemies in one battle. Cave of Ordeals 3 with maxed-out Stronger Enemies bills does the trick. If you have trouble with this achievement, consider moving a few Broker specialists on your equipment. A level n Broker increases the HL you get at the end of a battle by n%.

Transmigration achievements
  • First Transmigration : Transmigrate a character
To transmigrate a character, raise that character to Demon Rank 3 by taking promotion exams at the Dark Assembly, and then Transmigrate at the Dark assembly. Transmigrating will reset a character to level 1, but allow him to change classes, names, and give him higher base stats and stat growth.

  • Transmigration Master : Perform 10 transmigrations on a single character
To earn this achievement, you must perform 10 transmigrations ON A SINGLE CHARACTER. Performing 10 transmigrations across your party will not get you this achievement.
The Dream Hand
  • Got Dream Hand! : Obtain the Dream Hand
You can obtain the Dream Hand from the male priest NPC who maintains the Collection record and the Dark Record once you have more than 10% item completion.

The damage achivements
You need to disable friendly animations before attempting these achievements, especially the second one.

  • 100,000 Damage! : Deal 100,000 damage in a single blow
If you've beaten Baal, you should already have this achievement. To get it, simply have a character with more than 100,000 attack use a high-damage skill such as Nightsever, Calamity Drive on a low-defense enemy.

  • 10,000,000 Damage! : Deal TEN MILLION damage in a single blow
This is the most time-consuming achievement in the game. First thing : DISABLE FRIENDLY ANIMATIONS.
You will then want to make a Majin (Later to be reincarnated into a Divine Majin). To unlock the Majin class, you need to have a Scout, Male fighter, Male martial artist, Ninja and Thief all above level 200. Once you have created that Majin, grind him up a few levels, and transmigrate him a few times, so that his base attack is above 100.
Next, comes the equipment. You will want a perfect-leveled Yoshitsuna (rank 40 sword), a few perfect-leveled Super Robo Suits (or legendary Champion Belts) with matching rarity.

To perfectly level an item, you must remove all specialists that are not Gladiators (in our case) by going in the first floor of the item, killing a specialist if there is one, resetting if there is no specialist, and then gencying out. Once that is done, fill every specialist slot with Gladiators (their level do not matter), and level the item as you normally would, making sure to kill every Item General, King and God on the way.

As mentioned previously, you also want your items to have matching rarity : which means that the rarity number of all your equipped items must be the same, which will multiply your stats by 1.3.
Once that is done, get the weapon mastery of your Divine Majin in swords to 255 (I highly recommend grinding 1900 armsmasters for this express purpose)
Once you've done all that and gotten the attack of your Divine Majin above 2.5 million (just level up more and transmigrate more if you're not quite there), you'll want to go into the Item world of a low-level item, go through the floors until you find a geo-panel with attack +100% (Which means two attack +50% geo-symbols on the same geo-panel). Pull out your Divine Majin, position him behind an enemy and on the attack+100% geo-panel, cast 5 bravehearts on him and attack the unlucky enemy. Hopefully you will have dealt more than 10 million damage.

If you're not quite at 10 million, you can try raising your attack stat, raising the level of the Nightsever skill, or having the Divine Majin go last in a 9-action combo (Cast 8 bravehearts on the Majin instead of 5 for example : even though that won't drive his attack further, it will continue the combo). Attacking your target from behind and from above (at least 2dm above) also boosts your damage.

Afterword
If you earned all 30 achievements : congratulations ! I hope this guide was of use to you.

If you notice any mistake, error, or if you can think of an improvement to this guide, please leave a comment.

I have not tested it myself so I cannot confirm, but I believe it does have to be on the same save file.
However I don't think beating Astro Carter is a requirement for any other achievement than the all EX bosses one, therefore you can always leave him for last so you don't need to replay story mode afterwards.

In order to achieve the "All EX bosses" achievement, do I have to kill every ex boss on the same save file? For example, if I kill EX Carter and then reload my old file so I don't have to replay story mode. Does the game take that into account, or do I HAVE TO replay the whole story?

I don't have what to add to this brilliance or an improvement to suggest, but I just wanted to thank you for taking the time and effort to put this together for all the players like myself! It's helped me plenty and I really appreciate it.
