Isnt this basically just MultiParent weld?
Jake_theguy 12. dec. 2023 kl. 12:40
please update this man

"I would fix them if I had more time."

It's been almost 10 years. Do you think he has the time yet?
tim 6. aug. 2022 kl. 19:44
polyweld seems to have a problem with meshes, the object is solid but grabbing it with the physics gun or using tools on it such as weld or axis after its been merged is a gable if it even resisters your clicks. It also seems to fuck up paint/materials after welded, leaving half of it painted/materialized and the other half of it completely resets to the default color/material
PolitickýVězeňCocainer 29. juni 2021 kl. 8:12
will it ever be compatible with duplicator?
Fweggigun 24. apr. 2021 kl. 10:43
It removes axis.
Normelniere 29. dec. 2020 kl. 8:25
dont use it, it doesnt select the props you want. needs fixing
pacho 30. aug. 2019 kl. 5:07
Why does it select other prop's when i select the one i'm was aiming at?
Supine 💖 59 1. aug. 2019 kl. 5:11
thanks for awesome tool!
cobalT 28. feb. 2019 kl. 23:06
So it basically tries to make the welded props act together as a single prop. P cool
Gigabeit 28. feb. 2019 kl. 11:15
one question though does this negate the effect of the (from the context menu) no collide?
The Trollge 13. juli 2018 kl. 12:04
Question:
what exactly is polywelding?
†‡†•Exceptable•†‡† 22. feb. 2018 kl. 11:18
можно вопрос ? ты руссикй ? а то подозрительно как то :/ когда посмотрел канал
DR OYEKPEN 13. jan. 2018 kl. 11:02
completely broken
expired 30. dec. 2017 kl. 3:15
Very broken, apart from already mentioned color highlight system being broken, I can't weld more than 2 props. This is a very useful tool, hopefully it will be updated.
Dv2236 11. aug. 2017 kl. 7:22
i wonder if anyone will fix/update this
Rainoa 25. juli 2017 kl. 18:41
o sorry 1 more thing is kinda wish their was a way to add to a building u already used the tool onto
unless im missing something?
also dont seem to be 100% adv dupe supported i dont see ghost image anymore + i get some bugs
Rainoa 25. juli 2017 kl. 14:07
ya im testing this out highlighting seems VERY broken
Mk 25. juli 2017 kl. 9:25
This doesn't work with cars :c
Joe Balogna 2. juli 2017 kl. 13:25
This tool appears to be broken in many different ways. The color highlight of selected items is totally broken, some props get the highlight, some don't, and the highlights change with each time you select more items.

The area selection also does not appear to work, or it's max range is so small it can't reach multiple props.
Severely Emaciated Goblin 7. juni 2017 kl. 0:47
I can't color any objects polywelded together...
Terry Davis 30. apr. 2017 kl. 19:02
yo can you help whenever i click one thing and another it unselects it and freaks out :steamsad:
Puffy the Destroyer 31. mar. 2017 kl. 14:43
oh. wel tjis is usefull none the less
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2017 kl. 8:57
It doesn't work with ragdolls. They have very different physics from props.
Puffy the Destroyer 30. mar. 2017 kl. 19:11
is this useful for crudely putting non bonemergeable props in a tf2 rag's hand? :3 if so that's great
Max Shadow 8. mar. 2017 kl. 13:11
@Jumping Spiders Are Cute: I may be a bit late to reply this, but I just saw you comment. I wanted to clarify how parenting with weld enabled works. The main advantage of parenting is that you can weld hundreds of props together with zero lag and perfect stability, but they lose their collision meshes. This allows you to add details to your contraptions and make chassis for vehicles without impacting the performance. If you enable weld, the visual model will look like it's stable, but the collision mesh is still there, behaving like in a normal weld. It will bend and spaz even tho you can't see it, and it will cause the same lag as a normal weld. If you really need your contraption to have a collision mesh, polywelding is your best option. It's buggy and doesn't work in all cases, but its great to make simple contraptions without lag.
Valerie 8. mar. 2017 kl. 9:53
thats true, however doing it that way would require manual alignment instead of the auto assemble that is available thru sbep
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2017 kl. 18:43
It's probably because those models aren't being spawned as prop_physics. Try spawning the spacebuild props from the Q menu instead of using the toolgun. If it works then there's your answer.
Valerie 6. mar. 2017 kl. 17:17
would you look into the issue with spacebuild enhancement pack as well?
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 6. mar. 2017 kl. 14:33
That's certainly an unintended bug. If I can find the time, I'll see about fixing it. Thanks for the report.
Grampa Walker 3. mar. 2017 kl. 23:10
Hey, I absolutely love this tool, however, there is an issue I'd like to mention in the hopes it get fixed, or possibly looked at. Given the fact I use a lot of props with broken hitboxes, I can't use most parenting tools that require clicking every single prop. This prop helps with that situation, though it has one major issue. Every time I weld things, almost every prop that had color added to it by the color tool has that color removed, and usually can't be added, even when props have normal hit boxes.

I was hoping you could possibly look into this issue, and perhaps fix it. So far your parenting tool is my absolute favorite for how I make things. However, that issue makes it so difficult to successfully finish what I'm making since they almost always use color from the color tool. Apologies for complaining, I just wanted to mention it in the hopes it could be fixed, and make this officially the most perfect parenting tool I've ever seen on Gmod.
Valerie 17. feb. 2017 kl. 18:15
can someone please help me im trying to create a spacebuild ship with this but it wont work the tool seems to have no effect however if i use this on a strait hallway made with sbep it works fine
Jumping Spiders Are Cute 24. jan. 2017 kl. 7:50
yes, it does very much clear things up, in fact i suggest you put something relative to your response on this tool's description so as to minimize questions regarding the use of it vs multiparent. its sad about the low prop compatability, but i feel like i could still definitely use it.
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 24. jan. 2017 kl. 5:40
It has pros and cons:

Pros: Actually fuses props together to form a single prop. Physics are calculated with perfect precision rather than weld and multiparent with weld, which apply a reverse force when the object comes under stress and leads to a bend/spaz effect, this will act like a single prop does.

Cons: Fusing too many props together like this can crash a server because of the complex algorithms required to calculate physics on a concave physics object. Also, (somewhat) lack of duplicator support. Lastly, the entire polywelded object is undone when you press Z due to constraints in the engine.

I hope that clears it up. This tool is best used for 5-10 simple props (like PHX Builder props) rather than entire contraptions.
Jumping Spiders Are Cute 23. jan. 2017 kl. 17:17
im not trying to be critical, i just want honest answers.

why use this over multiparent with weld checked? multiparent with weld checked retains the ability to grab the objects and can still be modified, but also acf like a single prop, but claims that this causes lag still.

is there any actual benefit of using polyweld vs multiparent? if what you say is legitimately true, it should reduce lag as much as multiparent without weld checked, which would be totally fucking awesome, but thats just too good to be true. if it is totally true, id expect every server to be using it, including my favorite server, which is very propular. however it does not and i figure there must be some reason, and id like you to explain.

if what you say is true, it fuses the props (hey thats a nice name for it even, prop fuser) together, which im sure is pretty much endgame perfect for any builder.
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 17. jan. 2017 kl. 16:38
No, only solid props.
Dork outside a dorkbag 17. jan. 2017 kl. 9:45
Will this work with ragdolls?
Eagle 12. jan. 2017 kl. 18:58
It may work for some however however when I built a custom flier it did not work like shown in the video all parts still moved about even though they were welded and then re welded after I got this tool I welded them all again and it still didn't work like the video shows. I havent used it since I will check back when I use it again.
prynncesslua  [ophavsmand] 10. jan. 2017 kl. 13:54
Vehicles are a special case. They aren't props at all, and their physics are handled outside of the editable Lua interface. Sadly, this will never be possible.
☆LoneWS☆ 10. jan. 2017 kl. 9:42
This addon is great but not compatable with vehicles i mean come on!!! FIX THIS!! when i do it from a prop to a vehicle it acts like there is no wheels!!!
