It's been almost 10 years. Do you think he has the time yet?
what exactly is polywelding?
unless im missing something?
also dont seem to be 100% adv dupe supported i dont see ghost image anymore + i get some bugs
The area selection also does not appear to work, or it's max range is so small it can't reach multiple props.
I was hoping you could possibly look into this issue, and perhaps fix it. So far your parenting tool is my absolute favorite for how I make things. However, that issue makes it so difficult to successfully finish what I'm making since they almost always use color from the color tool. Apologies for complaining, I just wanted to mention it in the hopes it could be fixed, and make this officially the most perfect parenting tool I've ever seen on Gmod.
Pros: Actually fuses props together to form a single prop. Physics are calculated with perfect precision rather than weld and multiparent with weld, which apply a reverse force when the object comes under stress and leads to a bend/spaz effect, this will act like a single prop does.
Cons: Fusing too many props together like this can crash a server because of the complex algorithms required to calculate physics on a concave physics object. Also, (somewhat) lack of duplicator support. Lastly, the entire polywelded object is undone when you press Z due to constraints in the engine.
I hope that clears it up. This tool is best used for 5-10 simple props (like PHX Builder props) rather than entire contraptions.
why use this over multiparent with weld checked? multiparent with weld checked retains the ability to grab the objects and can still be modified, but also acf like a single prop, but claims that this causes lag still.
is there any actual benefit of using polyweld vs multiparent? if what you say is legitimately true, it should reduce lag as much as multiparent without weld checked, which would be totally fucking awesome, but thats just too good to be true. if it is totally true, id expect every server to be using it, including my favorite server, which is very propular. however it does not and i figure there must be some reason, and id like you to explain.
if what you say is true, it fuses the props (hey thats a nice name for it even, prop fuser) together, which im sure is pretty much endgame perfect for any builder.
