How exactly is a dating show supposed to instill fear into people? Or how is it supposed to torture the protagonist?

I somewhat like the game, but it's pretty thinly plotted, like the title said, it never elaborate on why'd a dating game show would make people fear...whatever organization the villain is from, and why even bother to make a dating show? At one point Damian the villain said the Mc would wish he was dead, but how exactly? if he want to kill the mc then just kill him downright? But making him go through all the dating in a luxurious mansion with cute girls, along with promise of him and a chosen girl would b...

What I liked:

-The women are like-able and romantic.
