With this update, we had to make a hard decision.
Our colouring system was causing some issues in some porbles and causing errors when players tried to evolve them.
We are working on fixing it, but it will take some days to have them all working as intended. So we opted for a bit more dramatic move. You should be able to evolve all porbles that can be evolved to Majesty 3 fine. But in the cases where the dyes would cause a problem, the dyes will be removed.
To make up for this, a COMPENSATION CODE TO BE RELEASED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS which will include enough dyes to set your porbles back to being the living canvas you always wanted.

We are also aware of some areas that are causing some issues with quest progress, and we are fixing them (many already are in test stage) and will be pushed as soon as possible, hopefully tomorrow

MAJOR BUG FIXES

- Fixed an error when evolving to Majesty 3 with dyed porbles for some species that was causing errors and not allowing the evolutions. In those cases, the Porble will evolve but lose custom colours. (COMPENSATION CODE TO BE RELEASED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS)

BUG FIXES

- Prevention of the Fusion UI from allowing you to place 1st level majesty stones when doing more advanced majesty evolutions in some altars.
- Some baddie battles with broken Porbles (black boxes) were fixed
- Image fixes in some porbles

OPTMIZATION

- Moving platforms now pause when players open menus, avoiding void falls
- Cleaning of some dialogues (minor typos)

QOL

- Carry on work with the antivirus companies to fully whitelist all files in the game to prevent false risk warnings

The main highlights are a major fix that should help players with Steam Deck models that had problems starting the game.
The other is the addition of the possibility of enabling v-synch if desired under the settings.
By default, it will be off as it has been to this point, but if you want, you can enable it (this will cause the game to close and has to be restarted). We will add a confirmation message in a later version, but we wanted to enable this option for all of you as fast as possible.

MAJOR BUG FIXES

- Improvements for the launcher to solve issues that, in some machines (mainly some Steam Deck models), were preventing the game from starting.

BUG FIXES

- The quest "Prove Yourself" should now trigger properly and open the gate
- Fixed a small issue where, under very specific conditions, a 100% chance scroll would fail

OPTMIZATION

- The letter in the intro flashback was moved to make it more obvious for the quest
- Discord button removed from the gameplay to not cover anything

QOL

- New V-Synch option in settings. By default, it is off (as it was before), but now players can enable it if so desired.

Probably no updates tomorrow, Easter Sunday, as the team does need a break to recharge from the last few days and to spend time with family and friends. Good old Haron will still be around, but the replies might take a bit longer than usual.
Monday, it will be back to business

Told you we would get 1.0.3 soon as well. It's currently past midnight for most of the team, but we wanted to make sure these were out as soon as possible, especially the lag situation that was affecting some of you around Silent woods and later. (caused by inventory size increase, it seems)

MAJOR BUG FIXES

- Massive optimisation related to lags in the game with dialogues and inventory as the game progresses for some players

BUG FIXES

- Solved and issued where the game could sometimes detect a controller as being connected twice with some models.
- Solved issue introduced with 1.0.2 where the augments could not be altered under certain conditions
- Solved an issue where hidden triggers for quests or still locked quests would show a yellow ? with no active quest
- Solved an issue with some porbles where their shadow animation was missing, causing some graphical errors
- Revised some quests where the steps weren't triggering for some players

OPTMIZATION

- The issue was solved where some looped SFX were ignoring the volume setting
- Dar in the fusion lab finally has their portrait loading in all cases as it should from the start
- Optimised some momentum gains based on player feedback
- Changed some dialogues and quest descriptions for better clarity

QOL

- McAfee has already whitelisted our affected game files, and we expect the other antivirus companies that are reporting the same false red flags to do the same soon.

I've been looking forward to this one & the dev's were kind enough to provide a review copy for me to test the game out.

Initial first impressions of the game is that it's got a lot of passion & love poured into it from many years of gaming experiences. Lots of references, cheeky dialogue & nods to classic games like Pokémon of course, but certainly a unique game worth checking out.

In essence you start in a world which has many realms & since portal magic has been discovered you can travel between them, but along with portal magic came this creatures that you can tame. Some people like portal travel, some not so much, which reminds of me the Star Trek transporter, but I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

You can have 3 creatures battling with you & you can swap between the rest in the main city. The combat is designed in a way that can be quite fast as you can spam through turns, which I very much appreciated.

Love the character customization, cute pets that can follow you around (separate from the battle creatures) & the ability to customize the colours of your Porbles with different segments as well.

I think it's designed with a controller in mind, so if you have one then that'll likely be the best experience, but keyboard & mouse worked fine for me too.

I did encounter a few small issues, but I was on an early build & it looks like they've got a huge amount of bug fixes & content planned for launch day & beyond.

Portal Fantasy quickly became one of my favorite recent finds on Steam. The pixel art grabbed me immediately—it's vibrant, detailed, and gives me strong nostalgia vibes from old-school games and classic JRPGs.

The game's world feels lively and inviting, with each town having its own distinct personality and interesting characters. I found myself constantly wandering off the main path to explore hidden corners and side quests, and honestly, that sense of discovery is half the fun.

I absolutely love the Porbles. They're charming, have unique designs, and the whole collecting and fusion system is surprisingly addictive. Combat is straightforward enough to jump right into, but there's enough depth that experimenting with different teams is genuinely rewarding.

Plus, the writing and soundtrack —it's clear the creators had fun with it. Several interactions actually made me chuckle or smile, which isn't always the case with these games.

Overall, Portal Fantasy hits the sweet spot between nostalgic charm and fresh gameplay. If you're into creature-catching RPGs or just love beautifully crafted pixel worlds, definitely give this a shot. Highly recommend it!

I will be happy to change this review as the game improves, but as it stands, I cannot recommend this game in it's launch state, this needed a couple more months in the oven.

For starters, the options and configurations are unacceptable for a full PC release, no display options besides Full-screen or windowed. No resolution options, no input adjusting, absolutely the most bare bones settings screen you can imagine, if you can call it that.

You create your character but the options are so limited I would've almost preferred a preset character with a better sprite.

within the first 20 minutes I ran into a cutscene that played twice back to back, a dialog line repeat itself, overriding the dialogue line that was supposed to play, and I had to disconnect and reconnect my controller multiple times to the game to pick it up as an input option.

The game has potential, I can see something really interesting that could be done here, but it really needs to polish out the rough edges before any of that can be truly appreciated.

Launching with a bundle deal with Coromon, when this game has such a similar art-style you'd almost think they're by the same team (they're not), is begging for a comparison, and that comparison does not make this game look good in it's current state.

I love creature collectors, and I think this game has a lot of potential to be good, but it's really unfortunate that the team spent so much effort promoting the game through youtube for it to release like this, for now, it will go to my backlog in hopes of future updates to improve upon it.
