I'm happy to announce that PolyPine is finally available on Steam! Go click on some squirrels and deer! I hope you like the game!

Wow, what a journey. I had no idea that what started as a simple tree simulator experiment 2 years ago would grow into a full-blown forest simulator with over 70 species interacting in complex ways!

I've loved every second of working on this game (except maybe fixing obscure bugs) and am very excited to see what interesting things you will create with it!

I've also added a new trailer that highlights some of the interesting ways species interact in the forest both in real-life and in the game:

FPS issues still exist

summer 2FPS ... winter fluid... as soon as the fauna dies, fps comes back. my machine runs KCD2 on ultra, fluid. I just loaded up my demo savegame (128 years and expandet until FPS would be too annoying) and immediatly hit the FPS wall there as well. Very big Forest will ultimatively lead to slow FPS. The game allows the users to reach this point which is a diashow. I was looking for an evergrowing forest here which i can´t have now....

The full version of PolyPine will officially launch on March 31st at 10 AM PDT. I can't wait for that day to arrive!

good game... but the game slows down really bad if the forest gets too big. End game was hard to finish because clicking on animals wouldn't work.

Game is invisible

Not sure how this happened, but I just bought and installed the game and when I try to play it the screen is invisible. I hear the music, but I still see the desktop. I can't click anything on the desktop the same way I wouldn't be able to if running any other game, but this game is just not there. I tried windows key and the arrow keys to try and force the game screen to move somewhere so I can see it, but that doesn't work either. Anyone got any ideas? (video card and drivers are up to date)...

So uh... I have an over 200m tall tree but no achievement for 100m?

I have this one truly enormous beech tree (that is somehow still growing) and the stats say it's over 200m tall, but for some reason that hasn't triggered the achievement for creating a 100m tall tree. I have the one for a 60m tall tree, but not 100m. Am I missing something or is this a bug?...

yesterday i was playing this game just fine but now it sais "error: no licence" I got this demo fro free as far as i know why should i have a lisence.

lag and stuttering with big forests

like title says, once the forest gets big and has a ton of animals, the lag and stuttering is BAD! I have settings on low and bp pop-ups turned off, but it's so bad all the speed settings are at the same speed....i cant fast forward.

extremely short but a well designed game, a little too easy for my liking though. the campaign was super easy to get through and the free play mode didn't engage me enough to keep me entertained for long. It does bear some similarities with Viva Pinata in how different animals need different habitats but it wasn't in depth enough for me.

I hope the dev ends up adding more environments or making a hard mode to add longevity.
