Summary: You can tell that this game is a project, not a finished piece, and that okay! The 9 students only spent 1 year making this game, and its astounding. There are bugs, especially regarding interactions with stitches, objects, and bosses. We had to reset the game a few times because items and the bosses would not spawn, so we couldn't progress.

But, for a free game made by a great group of students in such a short time frame, I love it! I've played little nightmares 1 and two, and though some of the game play is similar, Double Shoulders has it unique atmospheres and some parts of the game are so pretty.

The two downsides that really affect the ability to play the game is that you cannot invite another player using steam, it is strictly local co op. Also, it requires controllers to play, no mouse or keyboard. We found Xbox controllers worked best, but PS controllers could work too. The only thing missing from this game is a sense of direction, it's really confusing to figure out how to get to the next level.

A hidden gem. Unintentional comedy at its finest, more bugs than Cyberpunk 2077 running on a toaster, and an ending so insanely ridiculous you'll be left thinking, ‘What the hell did I just witness?’. Totally worth playing just to experience that ending. I promise you won't forget it. A must-play.
