A fun, short experience. You know where the story is going in the first 5 minutes, but it's an interesting discovery game.

Cheap enough that you should get it on a whim if this looks fun.

As a queer person growing up in a Christian home, in a conservative traditionalist country, this game and the themes portrayed really resonated with me. The gameplay is not super active or challenging, you're just perusing someone's phone and using the information on it to unlock more features and string together the mystery of this missing person. I found myself really invested in this person's relationships, their identity, and their reasons for various actions. I related strongly to the portrayal of struggling to figure out your identity, as well as the conflicting emotions that arise when thinking about coming out, who you can trust, who will accept or reject you, etc. The price is quite low and I also further got this game on sale. I would say that this game is worth it, and unlike some others, I quite enjoyed the ending. It was fun to see one of my speculations come through while still having some twists.

I don't think I wouldn't recommend this game, but I personally didn't enjoy it that much. However, it's extremely cheap and about 1.5h of gameplay, so if you're looking for a short game to play, and especially if you want to check out more LGBTQ+ games I think it's worth checking out.

However, this game didn't really hit for me. I was pretty uncomfortable while playing it that I was searching so deeply through someone's phone (not that the description didn't already tell us this, so it was somewhat expected), but I also found it to be very confusing. Unless you read through EVERYTHING (which there's A LOT), I don't know how you'd really get some of the clues. I pretty much looked up half of the answers, especially the latter half since I couldn't figure out what was going on and I wasn't invested enough to try that hard.
However, I thought the story was interesting. I felt like the ending was executed well (no spoilers). I appreciate what they were going for too and there are not a lot of games out there that execute on this kind of storytelling as well. However, I did feel like there was a significant amount of background missing, which would've been helpful for the puzzles as well as for being invested in the story. It's a short runtime though so I know that's hard (although there was like a phd thesis on the social media site so maybe some more writing could've been moved around lol).

Overall, didn't like the puzzles, thought the story was interesting (although I wish there were way more texts in the beginning that weren't all "happy birthday" so we could be a little more invested in the main character), and it's a cheap game so I think I'd recommend it, but don't have high expectations.
I'd recommend If Found... for a game that has a similar theme but is a lot more interesting & robust.

This game is so accurate to the pain and struggles of being transgender. It hurt so much to play this game, having gone through a lot of the same stuff. But at the same time, it represented the pain I've felt and my experience like nothing else has. The pain of being misgendered, being treated like a man instead of a woman by parents and family, and living in an area that's unsafe for transitioning. It's very emotional, and I highly recommend playing it.

What a great little game. You find someone's recently lost phone, so you start reading their emails and text messages to figure out who they are (or because you just like to snoop). You gather a little information about them from their messages to and from family and friends, however, you don't quite have a picture of who this person really is, and how they feel about their life until you start figuring out their passwords to other apps (from reading all their texts and emails). Once you gain access to the rest of their data files, web history, etc., you have a better understanding of this person's story and start to feel for their struggle. What you learn about their life is quite tragic at times, and really pulls at the heartstrings (if you're a sentient human being, that is). However, sometimes there's a rainbow behind the clouds, and things work out in the end. By the end of the game, after you've read almost everything and gone through all the apps, a new text comes in, and things are starting to look up for the phone owner, and you know what you need to do.

If you want to speed through the game, which I don't recommend, you can scan through the messages without reading them all, and can probably complete the game in less than an hour. if you want a deeper understanding of this person's experiences and the great advice offered by the allies they meet online, then you might want to be more diligent about reading. I, of course, read every single bit of text on all the apps. It was worth it, IMO, and it took under 2.5 hours. I felt the story as told through the messages was very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and I can highly recommend it to anyone who has an open mind and can appreciate this sort of story-telling.
