A fun, short experience. You know where the story is going in the first 5 minutes, but it's an interesting discovery game.

Cheap enough that you should get it on a whim if this looks fun.

As a queer person growing up in a Christian home, in a conservative traditionalist country, this game and the themes portrayed really resonated with me. The gameplay is not super active or challenging, you're just perusing someone's phone and using the information on it to unlock more features and string together the mystery of this missing person. I found myself really invested in this person's relationships, their identity, and their reasons for various actions. I related strongly to the portrayal of struggling to figure out your identity, as well as the conflicting emotions that arise when thinking about coming out, who you can trust, who will accept or reject you, etc. The price is quite low and I also further got this game on sale. I would say that this game is worth it, and unlike some others, I quite enjoyed the ending. It was fun to see one of my speculations come through while still having some twists.

I don't think I wouldn't recommend this game, but I personally didn't enjoy it that much. However, it's extremely cheap and about 1.5h of gameplay, so if you're looking for a short game to play, and especially if you want to check out more LGBTQ+ games I think it's worth checking out.

However, this game didn't really hit for me. I was pretty uncomfortable while playing it that I was searching so deeply through someone's phone (not that the description didn't already tell us this, so it was somewhat expected), but I also found it to be very confusing. Unless you read through EVERYTHING (which there's A LOT), I don't know how you'd really get some of the clues. I pretty much looked up half of the answers, especially the latter half since I couldn't figure out what was going on and I wasn't invested enough to try that hard.
However, I thought the story was interesting. I felt like the ending was executed well (no spoilers). I appreciate what they were going for too and there are not a lot of games out there that execute on this kind of storytelling as well. However, I did feel like there was a significant amount of background missing, which would've been helpful for the puzzles as well as for being invested in the story. It's a short runtime though so I know that's hard (although there was like a phd thesis on the social media site so maybe some more writing could've been moved around lol).

Overall, didn't like the puzzles, thought the story was interesting (although I wish there were way more texts in the beginning that weren't all "happy birthday" so we could be a little more invested in the main character), and it's a cheap game so I think I'd recommend it, but don't have high expectations.
I'd recommend If Found... for a game that has a similar theme but is a lot more interesting & robust.
