Played the game on Ubuntu 25, using Proton Experimental.

Fantastic game for relaxing and just zooming across the landscape. There's something about it that just feels so wistful and the worldbuilding is amazing. I would LOVE to see more from the world of Sable.
My single issue is that I haven't been able to watch the very final cutscene as for some reason, the game refuses to start anymore. I suspect that there is a proton issue causing this.

Fantastic game for an exploration and pure vibes experience. The best way I can describe it is as Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but just the desert and no combat. Solid 9/10.

There isn't an in-depth story, but the story is great. Its basic premise is fairly simple, but it is given so much depth through the nature of the gameplay itself. It's the story of Sable going on a journey to find out what she wants to dedicate her life to being, a coming of age journey that all people in this world go through, but the game makes it the player's story more than anything. You can end the game pretty soon after leaving the starting area after completing a handful of quests, but you don't want to end the game until you're ready to, because you know you'll have a choice to make, and it's a choice that determines the course of a life.

The depth of the world is quite substantial for how little it's really elaborated on. You can learn more about this world, its people, and its history through exploration, but you don't need to. I won't spoil anything, but it's very much Dune vibes, and it feels done very well to add to the gameplay and the journey itself.

The visual style is really cool. It took me a while to adjust to it, but it really fits the vibe perfectly, and I really like how it looks. The music as well is really great. There are a couple really impactful vocal tracks, but it's not like there's anything super dramatic or intense. It's just a chill game, and the soundtrack reflects that. It's very much like Minecraft music in the sense that it's there to add chill vibes and underscore the journey that you get to decide the direction of.

The gameplay is good. There's no combat whatsoever, and you can't even die, so it's almost purely just exploration through a varied desert. You have a sick dune buggy hover bike kinda deal, and as you go through the game, you can unlock parts to upgrade it. There's a climbing mechanic with stamina and a way to increase stamina just like BotW. There are some puzzles to do, but none of them are very difficult. Aside from exploration, there are a lot of quests to learn more about different places, people, and—most importantly—professions. Completing quests unlocks various items and different career paths for you to choose at the end, and although no quest is world-level stakes or anything, a lot of them feel really significant to the people involved.

I did encounter a bug every now and then. Sometimes visual, sometimes aural, sometimes gameplay-related, but there was nothing game-breaking or that negatively impacted the experience.

Overall, amazing game. It reminds you to enjoy the journey and to live in the moment, and it reminds you that all things come to an end, but the end of one chapter is the beginning of another. Just know that this purely an exploration and vibes game with no combat at all, so this definitely isn't a game for everyone. Also know that the artstyle is pretty unique, so if you're picky with how something looks, you might wanna watch some gameplay for a bit, because it did take a while for me to get used to.
