This was my first dive into the Amnesia franchise, and I finished the game in one sitting — 8 straight hours. They didn’t let me catch a breath when it came to the scary part, but that’s what made it so captivating. I truly loved it because this survival horror game blends deep emotional storytelling about motherhood, loss, and resilience.

You play as Tasi, a woman who wakes up after a plane crash with no memory of the events leading up to it. As she searches for her missing team, Tasi discovers she’s pregnant and begins experiencing terrifying visions and encounters with otherworldly forces that intertwine with her trauma. In other words, she’s a woman struggling with her past and a mysterious pregnancy.

Tasi’s fear of darkness and her pregnancy aren’t just plot devices but key mechanics that shape the gameplay and narrative. Fear and darkness affect her physical and mental state, so you need to manage your matches and lantern carefully. Save your matches.

You also need to check on the baby by physically feeling her stomach, calming both Tasi and the child. This bond adds emotional tension, making survival feel urgent and personal rather than just mechanical. A small detail can be seen during loading screen, you can see the infant growing as you progress through the story.

The game has a few puzzles, but they’re not too difficult. It also offers multiple endings, each based on how you protect Tasi’s child. I was shocked by the ending I got on my first run, I didn’t expect it to work but it felt beautiful.

My ending, killing the Empress and dying with the baby, felt like the best possible resolution. In this ending, you save all the tortured souls, prevent yourself from becoming a monster (which I think is worse than death), and save the baby from living a life of suffering due to her illness.

Death was the best outcome for both Tasi and her child, granting them eternal peace rather than endless suffering. And Tasi would finally be able to reunite with her husband, wherever the dead go. A mother and a child. A mother that would do anything, risking her life for his lovely child.

Awesome game. Really like how it expands the world with some elements from The Dark Descent being referenced. Although I really loved the story (one of the endings really made me tear up ngl), there were a few things that I didn't enjoy while playing. As someone who sometimes plays a game more than once to 100% the game, things such as flashbacks and cutscenes (specifically when interacting with your unborn child) become a little annoying since I had to watch these 6-7 times. I just wish there was a way to turn them off in the settings but I can understand why they're left in. Another thing I find odd is that there is no punishment for dying. In The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs, dying would set you BACK TO THE BEGINNING of an area that you were currently at. In this game, "Dying" sets your character FURTHER into the area which really makes this game sorta easier to beat than the other titles. Other than that, if you're a fan of The Dark Descent and want to know more of the world's bigger lore then this is a good game to play.

Tasi or whatever that fr*nch woman´s name was is no doubt the worst protagonist out of all Frictional games.. games. She is just so retarded its not even real. The game itself wasnt really anything great itself, although there are nice parts, it doesnt help. And im not really sure i need to constantly hear a woman talking to a child thats still inside her. Machine for pigs might have been a more pleasurable experience than this, and thats already saying something.


First you learn she kept the child, and everyone else hated her for that because of the consequences (everyone either dying or turning to monsters), but you cant blame Tasi, who already lost one child and couldnt bear losing another, although unborn one, so i do understand its tough choice for her because hey, maybe they would´ve found help, and you cant blame others for hating Tasi, since by keeping the child she basically DOOMED everyone. And then you learn the God did tell Tasi that the child would be born with a sickness and the only way to keep her alive is to give her to the God. And now you are supposed to feel bad and sad for Tasi. Salim could have lived, yes, it would be even harder, however she would save her friends, effectively making her a hero, and yes, even though it isnt really a nice thing to say, she could have just made another child, who possibly wouldnt be sick.

Daniel found an orb, it was an archeological discovery and they couldnt have predicted that the Shadow would follow him. He did kill people because he was naive and stupid, but realized it and put a stop to Alexander.
Mandus didnt want his children and the world to suffer the WW1, thus creating the machine, killing people, realized it and stopped it, sacrificing himself. Both very interesting stories with horrible protagonists in their own way, but the stories were really great. And Henri from Bunker, he was just unlucky, hes so far the only one who didnt do anything wrong and still suffered.
And Tasi? Not a great story, horrible personality, and none of this would have happened if she wasnt so selfish.
