Welcome to Valhalla, Asgard

Warriors in death are led by the Valkyries to Valhalla. Chosen by Odin, we are known as Einherjar.

Here in this great hall we battle for entertainment, for in Valhalla we cannot die. We feast together and we drink together. But we are still warriors; we have been chosen to aid Odin during Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods.

I only believe in a couple reasons for creating a group. One is because its a hilarious or orginal concept. The second is because the group has a server. This group isn't hilarious so we are the latter (although we are very silly people and to take us seriously is a sin).

To be honest, we only have a semi-dedicated server so far. Its only one computer and I've loaded l4d, l4d2, and tf2 on it. This computer is an experiment mostly. Tech support in my college allowed me to keep a server there :) so I'm thankful to them. Without their great internets, none of this would be possible.

So I guess you could say Asgard can be found in Florida International University's Computer Science building. Asgard currently belongs to the ACM-FIU Student Chapter. It is a computer based student club.

Minecraft Server

I've been thinking about putting a Minecraft server in Asgard... Is this a good idea?

I have edited the opening L4D message. I can't test it because I'm at school so I opened the server for all to join. If you can let me know if you can see it or not, I appreciate it :)

Also, there are several ways to connect to the server. One way is to go to the Connect to Group Server option and select Thor's Awesome Server (or whatever we finally name the damn thing). The con about this is its more work to change the level, number of players, campaign vs survival, etc

The second way is to use a search key. This will allow you to find a server through match making (from the lobby) with a specific search string. For this, you need to go into the console and type:

sv_search key "asgard"

Now you can create the lobby, choose your game type, level, difficulty, etc. As long as you are the lobby leader, it will connect to the VOE server.
