When ingame, click profile and make one with your name. When you get to the server list, it'll ask for a cd-key. Fill it with anything. Then it'll make you register a throwaway Gamespy account. The name DOES NOT matter as it will never be shown.

We're trying to get more people to play, paste the download links around. Idle in chat and look at announcements/events. I may link another IP for Power Struggle.

Q: What do I need? What don't I need?
A: You need some disk space, although it is smaller than TF2. You don't need a good computer or a good connection, the game on lowest settings looks and plays like Far Cry (2004).

Q: I've never seen gameplay footage. What is the game like?
A: Crysis Wars is particularly unique and fun, because its features are reminiscent of those in PC gaming in particular. If I'd have to compare them to various games, it'd be; Counterstrike (deathmatch, indoors twitch gunfights), TF2 (capturing, cloaking), UT3 (huge maps with their integration of vehicles), Quake Wars/Battlefield 2 (general feel, multiplayer capture objectives), ARMA/STALKER (realistic ballistics/aiming/physics/movement when not in speed mode), Bad Company 2 (Crysis has better destruction, but they're mostly seen in custom maps) and World of Tanks (CW is a bit more realistic.) CW has a deep nanosuit system with many subtle changes that can be effectively used in regular play, making the game a perfect mix of fast-paced and realistic. In my own personal opinion, I like Crysis Wars more than Battlefield 3 and I'd tie CW with the fine PC FPSes mentioned above. It has no resemblance to console FPSes such as Call of Duty. For huge-scale FPS games, people would find many similarities between Crysis Wars, Battlefield 2, and Quake Wars.

Q: Why is it free?
A: Crytek put up a free Crysis Wars weekend somewhen in 2009 and gave out the full game installer with 2-day cd-keys. This combined with the fact that any EA/GameSpy game copy protection can be bypassed by adding "127.0.0.1 key.gamespy.com" to the dedicated server's hosts file, means this fine game is available to everyone. I personally paid for my copies in addition to Crysis being one of the best selling PC games of all time and that apparently didn't stop Crytek from releasing a CoD-clone with the name "Crysis 2."

Q: Isn't it dead?
A: It isn't dead. Sadly there's only a few populated European servers, but it's enough to enjoy a game. Increasing popularity in North America is what this guide/group/server is for.
