My Impression on: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege offers an unparalleled tactical shooter experience, with deep gameplay mechanics, a diverse operator roster, and innovative destructible environments. While it has a steep learning curve and some community issues, its intense and strategic action makes it a standout title in the genre.

Summary
From the moment I jumped into Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, I was immediately struck by the game's emphasis on tactical gameplay and strategic depth. Each round felt like a high-stakes chess match, requiring careful planning, coordination, and execution. The variety of operators, each with their unique gadgets and abilities, added a layer of complexity that kept the gameplay fresh and engaging.

One of the most impressive aspects of Rainbow Six Siege is its destructible environments. The ability to breach walls, floors, and ceilings creates countless strategic possibilities, allowing players to devise and execute creative tactics. This feature keeps the gameplay dynamic and unpredictable, ensuring that no two matches ever feel the same.

However, Rainbow Six Siege is not without its challenges. The game has a steep learning curve, especially for new players. Mastering the various operators, learning the intricacies of the maps, and understanding the tactical nuances of the game can be overwhelming. It requires dedication and practice to fully grasp and excel at the game.

Additionally, some players have reported encountering toxicity within the community, which can detract from the overall enjoyment of the game. While the developers have implemented measures to address this issue, it remains a concern for many players.

Furthermore, the presence of microtransactions for cosmetic items and operator packs may be off-putting to some players. Although these purchases do not impact gameplay directly, they can create a sense of imbalance for those who prefer to earn rewards through gameplay alone.

My Impression on: SQUAD

Squad is a 100% a teamwork based game. You will simply not win a match if your team doesn't work together and focus on capture points. This is extremely obvious when you are on a team that is not working fully together. The game has excelled in providing outstanding visuals and the recent addition of regular updates.

Be aware, Squad is an intense First Person Shooter not like regular FPS games. If you've played Insurgency: Sandstorm, then Squad will remind you of that exact battlefield. The game is extremely fun and when playing with players who have a understanding of the game, military concepts, and general knowledge you can accomplish so much on a community-ran server. The mechanics are not well explained in the Training Grounds and give you a very basic idea of Squad so you will spend a lot of time trying to excel at mastering Infantry Roles, Vehicles, Squad Leading and more but when you've mastered these roles you will feel fulfilling as you'll see a major improvement to your skill from when you first started playing.

Squad reminds me of a cross bread of Insurgency: Sandstorm, ARMA, and Battlefield with the feeling pushing to Battlefield minus the destructive environments and little to no customisation.

Below is a simple summary of my personal positive and negative points of Squad.

Community
Squad is one of those games that lives and dies by it's community, and so, by you. Inside the system requirements you'll find that a microphone is recommended - I, however, say that this should be required along with the intention of using it. Squad is a game focused on communication and knowing directions where the enemy are coming from, whether you need help, or you have a general question that needs to be answered. Without a microphone you will be in a disadvantage to other players as a lot of roles, like Squad Leading, working with Vehicles, or commanding require you to have a microphone. A lot of community servers also require players who want a leadership role inside the match, or vehicles to have a microphone.

Squad servers are all player-hosted, so it's really important, for your enjoyment, to find one that;
  • Is populated at your playtime.
  • Fits your play-style and manner.
  • Communicate in your language.
  • Has an active admin team.

Game quality will always depend solely on the ability of the Squad Leaders and, especially as a new player, your liking or disliking of the product will depend on those players.

Gameplay
Squad is identified as a modern first-person military simulator with an enormous focus on communication. A Squad can consist of up to nine members with different kits opening up depending on the number of players. You move very slowly, running and shooting consumes stamina and two or three bullets are all it takes to take somebody down. Beware, that one round of Squad can take over an hour to complete.

Squad gameplay is focused on tickets. Many factors make you lose tickets, like giving up when dead, losing vehicles, FOB radios, and objectives. The only way to gain tickets is to capture objectives. Your first matches may very well end without you shooting or finding anyone and even as an experienced player, you will realise that a big part of the game is driving around and waiting, which on a personal note I don't see as a negative thing. Think of Squad like a 4D Chess board. You're moving your troops, coordinating with other Squad Leaders, and anticipating the movements your enemy will make, and eventually win.

Starting in Squad, you shouldn't instantly go for Squad Lead. Squads may be full, but with patience spaces will open up. Begin with Rifleman, then advance up the line to a Medic, and so forth. Squad Leading is possibly one of the most frustrating thing in Squad. Squad Leaders may not communicate with you, and there are games where there is simply no communication on the command level, no supplies coming in, no units on defence and no HABs being setup. Which in a lot of cases will result in a brutal defeat, which isn't fun.

You can easily have fun in Squad, and there will be times where you don't enjoy the game, but that is standard in most games.

Verdict
If you want a multiplayer first-person shooter that feels like playing with actual people and not voiceless blueberries, with the addition of teamwork and tactics. This game is definitely a game to choose. Your enjoyment, for the most part, will lie in the hands of strangers, more so than other titles. If you can open your mind for that and embrace the Squad community, then you will be in for one hell of a ride.
