Half-Life 2 is one of the best FPS released even at this date. There is many reasons : first the story , Half Life dispose of a strong story line with a lot of content which makes the game very intriguing at some point.

Second , the graphics and the physics. Half Life 2 is old (2004) but somehow is still very pleasing to the eye. Graphics makes the game realistic enough to be emerged into it and also permit a lot of detail within the maps. The physics on their part , permit puzzles or amazing kills sometimes.

Third and probably the best reason... The immersion. Half Life serie always had a amazing immersion as the silent protagonist will somehow reflect you. The details on the maps are really amazing and set a well suiting ambiance to the maps , going from City 17 or even the Citadel for that matter. Everything is placed extremely well , the skybox , the props...

In conclusion , if you enjoy FPS or if you want to try them out , Half Life is a good money bet. It's pretty cheap and it's good. There is low chances you'll be deceived by it trust me.
