I'm cold. I'm numb. I feel nothing but the swirl of a whirlpool, feeling myself being dragged deeper and deeper into the empty void until my descent ceases.

I see nothing. I hear nothing. Nothing is what I become.

A memory. A swift, fleeting memory, left upon their lives, hopefully just a glimpse of a smile.

I know if I continue to thrash to break free I'll just make it harder. So I just need to let go, at some point.

I have friends, I have family, and they all care...but I don't. I'm selfish enough to ignore their wishes for my own eventual peace. And that's the most dangerous part about it.
