yeah lets add funny helicopter enemies that punish you for dodging upward by hitting you with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ propeller blades and locking you into a combo for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage in a game whose whole combat mechanics involve dodging and jumping over enemies when going through wont work, great idea

tbh the mechanics are cool and fun but those helicopter enemies entirely ruin it for me, god forbid you jump for any reason while theyre on screen. if they werent there (or if there was a setting to get rid of them) this would be a positive review about how cool the mechanics and setting are

edit: its not actually that bad I was just salty over a few particularly cheesey deaths. Opinions on the helicopter guys still stand though. there ARE lots of ways to deal with them which work great, in a vacuum. you never face them alone though, your facing them along with a hoard who launch asynchronous attacks so even if you get the helicopter, you'll likely get smacked into a combo by the other guys when you try to run up and finish it off. Best solution is just to not get hit imo

the mixed reviews put me off from trying this for way too long. This game is actually such a chill good time. servers are populated, veteran players are cool and helpful from my experience.

imo, most of the negative reviews are probably from salty 10-20k hour wow/bdo addicts escapees players who are pissed you cant just infinitely chase stronger gear or whatever. If your not too concerned about end game and just wanna have a good time levelling or harvesting mats between quests or whatever, give it a go!

for the first few hours at least, the vibes lean much more heavily towards Stardew Valley than Pokemon. I'm still having a pretty good time though, even though I went in for a monster tamer instead of a farming sim. Exploring islands is fun and the monster designs are great! Go Shmeep!

I've bought Crosscode on at least 3 different platforms. Its easily one of my favourite games of its kind, but for some reason I can never finish it. Maybe its the way the dungeons start to feel like they drag on (and the way the story "punishes" you for taking a long time with the stupidly hard puzzles) when I would rather be in the world doing quests. Hoping now is the time I can push through that and see the story to the end.

Even though I've never finished it, I'd still call it a 10/10 just based on how solid the moment to moment gameplay is. I'd easily buy this game again, just for the experience of running around grinding, desperately trying to maintain S-Rank combo with that music going nuts.

I bought this because of a secret boss in Cassette Beasts, which I thought was just a reference for fun, but now I'm fairly convinced they take place in the same sort of Bytten Studio Multiverse.

Also very cool game on its own right!

This features the most true, genuine evil team I've ever seen, far more despicable than any of Pokemons cheap excuses for villains.

EDIT: Cassette Beasts/New Wirral Island is a like dream I don't want to wake up from. It easily shot its way high into my favourite games of all time list.

so you know when you play Elden Ring for the first time, and as the map keeps rolling out in front of you and never stopping, at some point you just get hit with this wild feeling of '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, is this an infinite game'?

This game is one of the only other games I've played that also has that feeling so strongly. It really feels as if these caves are endless. Theres always more to do, even when you think your about to be done.
