I love this game so, so much. this kind of gameplay loop is the stuff I live for. this game makes you feel like the coolest thing in the whole collapsing universe when you are just running through tight spaces and building momentum. god its so good.

this legit would have been my favorite rougelite ever if the other aspects of it were just as refined as the base gameplay loop. but unfortunatly, stuff like the item balance being all over the place and the game not having a true rougelite mode, rather just 10 stages that are built like mini rougelite runs, really brings it down for me. endless mode is not it btw. endless mode is unfortunatly just running non stop with no pathing decisions, shops, events, hard stages or bosses. which is fine, again, the gameplay loop is insanely fun regardless, but it REALLY makes me not wanna play it compare to just the regular shards.

the game is still being updated though. so maybe in the future this game will be way, WAY better. but as it stands now. instead of being "game of the year" levels of good. its just, absolutly amazing. so 9/10 buy it.

also the characters are neat. I like em.

🪽 Haste é um jogo que basicamente você corre pra caralho, e é admirável como eles conseguiram adaptar essa ideia e ter como resultado um jogo super satisfatório e divertido! Ele é bonito, tem gráficas bonitinhos e bem feitos, as artes e estilo dos personagens são maravilhosos, trilha sonora casa perfeitamente com o jogo, desempenho sussa, história legalzinha, e tudo essas coisas.

🤖 Outra coisa que gostaria de mencionar, é que eles adaptaram um roguelite em um jogo de correr, e isso é bacana! Cada run você pode testar itens novos, buscar fazer builds que vão quebrar o jogo, esse tipo de coisa que a gente adora em roguelike/lite. Gostei também das boss fights, mas infelizmente temos 3 bosses diferentes, e eles se repetem umas 3 vezes, e também me decepcionei com o boss fight final.

💯 No geral, vale muito a pena pra quem curtir a ideia do jogo, mesmo após 40 horas, ainda pretendo voltar ele pra fazer umas corridas enquanto escuto uma boa música ou converso com meus amigos. Ele é um tanto difícil, mas também tem MUITAS opções pra ajudar na dificuldade, tornando praticamente acessível pra qualquer um no quesito dificuldade. Recomendo! :)

Haste has an extremely fun core gameplay loop. It's all about building, and maintaining momentum through a fairly intuitive moment system. Once you get a feel for it, Haste quickly becomes an almost meditative experience where you'll fly through levels, and feel great while doing it.

The music is also killer.

However, the game feels a little undercooked at present.

Many of the game's items don't feel like they make that much of a difference on your run, aside from items which boost your top speed. There's also some funky balancing where some of the more expensive items are just straight up worse than cheaper common items. It almost feels as though items were shoehorned in because (most) players expect that sort of thing from a roguelite.

The level generation also leaves a little bit to be desired. Generally speaking it works as intended, but there were a lot of times where I'd spot some procedurally generated funkiness. Examples include massive obstacles that I'd need to run around (instead of weave through), stage hazards that were pointing off-stage (so entirely away from the player), and sparks (this game's version of coins, or rings) that'd lead into a bottom-less pit, or a stage hazard. It's the sort of thing that's mildly annoying at first, but it becomes hard to ignore once you start noticing it.

Overall, I think Landfall has something special here, but it needed a little more time to gestate.

The game has received half a dozen patches in the past 2 weeks, so the dev team are actively working to address some of the shortcomings. I might have to take another look at Haste in a few months to re-evaluate, but for right now I wouldn't recommend it. With a little more polish though? Then I could see Haste being an easy game to recommend to others, especially if they're in the market for a fun new endless runner.
