it's a fine enough game! the only issue i (personally) see is the fact that the rangers all play the same, and so that makes the combat a bit dull. I'd recommend playing on easy and just smashing your way through stages.

if you are looking for depth, there are better beat em ups (streets of rage 4, fight'n rage) out there for that, and if you're looking for something that sticks to the more faithful beat em up genre but seeks to evolve it a bit, Shredder's revenge is the obvious go-to.

that said, what this game has got going for it, it's more diversity than those : in-game arcade cabinets with unique games, super sized battles, and vehicle segments. for some, that'll be more miss than hit, but i think it's very welcome (and for certain vehicle segments, the rangers play differently! where was that energy for the move sets??)

however, for what's on offer, even with the praise i'm giving it, i think the price is a *bit* steep. for most people, this will be a game to purchase on discount, if even.

most people will be displeased with this game and the lack of "progress" you can make, but it personally didn't have me throwing my hands up in the air at some of its "quirks". i AM side-eyeing a LOT of beat em up with rpg leveling mechanics, which i personally strongly dislike and think of antithetical to the genre!!!!

tl;dr i think it's fine but i don't think it should be the offering most people go for when looking for a beat em up
