I got Covid for Christmas, Rimworld gave me something to do and is an extreme timesink that was just the right amount of thinking for my covid addled brain.
Addictive as ♥♥♥♥.
I like it, lots. I think it would be wildly boring without the DLC/expansions and that you'd quickly run out of things to do.

It is definitely an endless struggle- just when you think you've got things nice and cozy some jerks will come and burn all your farmland, or the plague will hit, or those nice refugees you took in try to stab your guy.

Other thoughts coming to you live from a covid addled brain:
- xenotypes are very cool in concept but some of the execution sucks. Like if you want to have guys who arn't just normal humans the pros/cons suck hard. Random hussar dude you took in out of the kindness of your heart? He'll be dead in a month anyways because he needs some drug that is mid to late game to create in order to live and no one around seems to sell it. Or you eat more than everyone else. Not thrilled with that. Like, I get it... but I also don't. Sometimes I just wanna be a purple guy with demon horns.

-woops i hatched 34 chickens in my storage on accident because eggs arn't food lol wat

-religious memes are harshhhh, limited and can be very detrimental to gameplay. Looking at you tree-hugger one. How can you recognize trees as the source of all life... but also not be ok with using trees as resources(?) IDK man the forest ravaged debuff cost me a perfectly lovely community

-Lol at the 'a kidnapped person might be able to come back :) ' bc nope

overall, highly addictive albeit slightly flawed game
exactly what i needed while dying of covid
