Nexus Skills
This mod adds in a series of new skills with the goal of expanding build possibilities and encouraging otherwise ineffectual but fun playstyles!
Here is a summary of what you may find in this mod:
  • Resolution – a new way to resist game dominating crowd control effects!
  • Summoned weapons – perfect for characters that may want to dabble in the arcane!
  • Hybrid skills – no longer will you need to sacrifice your soul (and all of your damage) for versatility!

New mechanic: Resolution
Crowd control effects in Divinity: Original Sin 2 can be your way to victory but may to some also prove quite infuriating when the CC-train arrives. If you wish for a lightweight addition to the game that may help favor sustained combats instead of blitz attack crowd control focused scenarios – this may be the mod for you.

“Resolute” is a new status effect, that lets you resist a single hard crowd control effect before being consumed in the process. Each “stack of resolution” lasts two turns, and may stack up to three times.
This encourages utilizing your health bar and so healing spells and health based character builds should become more relevant.

                                                                

New skills
On your adventures in Rivellon you may now find a series (16 currently) of new skills that are sold by the usual merchants and vendors.
Below you will find a short introduction to all of the skills - the rest you will find in the game.

Skills that grant resolution:
These skills aim to make better use of your health bar and healing! Refresh the duration of your Resolution stacks by combining these skills!

Cold Acclimation
  • Hydrosophist 3
  • Summon a gust of cold wind and damage nearby enemies while attuning yourself to the cold and gaining stacks of resolution.
  • When acclimated to the cold, gain resolution when standing on ice surfaces!
  • Enemies may use this skill.

Invigorating Strike
  • Warfare 3
  • Make a sweeping attack and gain stacks of resolution for every enemy hit!
  • Enemies may use this skill.

Drain Life
  • Necromancy 3
  • Siphon the life from your enemy and gain stacks of resolution.
  • Kill a character to reset cooldown of this skill.
  • Enemies may use this skill.

Rune of Resilience
  • Summoning 4
  • Create a rune on the ground and boost allies that step onto it.
  • Ending your turn on the rune grants a stack of resolution.

Summoned Weapons:
These skills are for the heroes (or villains) who seek to use the power of arcana in a different setting than the typical mage may have forseen. Perfect for hybrid builds of all sorts.

Summoned Sword, Greatsword, Spear, Dagger & Bow
  • Summoning 2
  • Summon an otherworldy weapon dealing low piercing damage, that may be upgraded by attuning the weapon.
  • Attune your weapon to an element by casting skills or absorb the element of a surface.
  • Attuned weapons deal elemental damage (or physical if attuned to blood) and scale of the weapons usual attribute.

Intense Binding
  • Summoning 2
  • Further enhance your summoned weapon by increasing its damage based on your intelligence attribute.
  • Increases Summoned Weapon damage based on intelligence.

Miscellaneous skills:
These skills generally seek to further the option for new hybrid builds and combos. Some of these skills scale specifically of strength to give players a reason for picking the strength attribute other than the typical strength based weapons.

Piercing Roar
  • Polymorph 2
  • Roar! Deal damage directly to your enemies health bar and deafen them!

Grow Claws
  • Polymorph 2
  • Grow claws, improving your unarmed damage and gain acces to low cost attacks!
  • Damage of the claws scale with both finesse AND strength!

Source Surge
  • Polymorph 3
  • Consume source to bolster your health and damage.
  • Stacking buff with refreshable duration.
  • Favors long combats where you may cast the skill many times.

Burning Rage
  • Warfare 2, Pyrokinetic 2
  • Channel your rage to burn your enemies in a small AoE!
  • Attack enemies to feed your rage and reset the cooldown of this skill!

Telum Sanguine
  • Necromancy 3
  • Empower your melee weapon by absorbing blood surfaces!
  • Grants lifesteal and increased physical damage based on your intelligence.
  • Not compatible with summoned weapons (use Intense Binding).

Arcane Bolt
  • Hydrosophist 3
  • Consume a fraction of your magic armor to fire a damaging projectile.
  • Damage is based on consumed magic armor and scales with hydrosophist level.

Practical stuff
This mod requires LaughingLeaders Animations Plus to improve on the animations used for "Grow Claws". This mod is compatible with but does not require my other mod Spellblades. The Spellblades mod supplies additional functionality to the summoned weapons included in this mod so that weapon skill status effects are resisted by either magic or physical armor based on damage type.

Disclaimer: this mod has not yet been playtested extensively and so you may experience bugs and issues.
If you do so, please post them in the Bugs and issues discussion or in the comments.
Also, I am still finetuning the numbers - so expect minor, but frequent, balance updates.

When using the skills in this mod that have cooldowns that may be reset, (Drain Life & Burning Rage) you may experience that the skills dissapear from your skillbar. To fix this, make sure you have only one instance of the skill throughut the five available skillbars and confirm that your game settings are set to add new skills to your skillbar automatically.

Is there a way I could manually toggle these to make them permanent? I am roleplaying a vampire with the mod and having my only weapons be the claws is exactly what I'm looking for.

can anyone make a mod to have the summoned weapons with infinite duration. it seemed too annoying to recast and reimbue every fight. was overall weak.

@Tobberon yeah dude i see none of the skills in any of the merchants inventories. i checked all of the first act. where are they supposed to be/ who is supposed to sell them?

Think we can make a version for the transformation that is a toggle? It would help a roleplay idea i had (char only uses claws due to mutation)
