L&MR 'Lion' & Titfield 'Thunderbolt'

Description
Featuring the locomotive and train from the 1953 film The Titfield Thunderbolt

In 1838, the Liverpool and Manchester Railway Co. sent out a request to locomotive builders to construct a Luggage Engine. Todd, Kitson and Laird Co. of Leeds constructed a locomotive to the Patent of a Patentee locomotive, as well as a few others. The result was an outside frames 0-4-2 Luggage Engine that dutifully worked on the LMR and under the LNWR until 1858, when it was sold.

It was sold to the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board as a boiler to work a stationary pump, and there it sat until 1875, where it was sold to Prince's Dock to also work a pump.

Someone stumbled upon it in 1923 and convinced the LMS to restore it. From there it led a humble existence of 'One of the worlds oldest working locomotives' until, in 1953, it was used in the Ealing Comedy 'Titfield Thunderbolt' as the star, and cemented itself into popular culture.

The engine is now on static display, and will be for the foreseeable future.

The Mod
In this mod you get:
L&MR Lion (Preserved condition and livery)
Titfield Thunderbolt (On screen livery)
Titfield Coach (A small 4 wheeler to go with Lion/Thunderbolt)
Titfield Thunderbolt flatbed + coach (From the climax of the film)
Titfield Thunderbolt Train set (pre-made consist, requires JK's Toad Brakevan to work)

What may be added
1838 condition locomotive as-built
1841 Edge-Hill rebuild
1848 LNWR livery

These all differ from what we see today, because against popular belief, that Haystack firebox is ALL FAKE. Blame the LMS in its 1925 rebuild.

All that's missing is the loco from the start and Pearce and Crump's bus to recreate the film.

Utterly excellent! From the chuffing to the whistle to the looks, my favourite brought to the game at last. Many thanks SteveM4! :-)
