Description
Quick Overview: Insurrection Combined Arms is a randomly generated mission. The basic gameplay involves capturing objective points from the enemy. Once captured, you continue to the next objective point. The players have a few random vehicles available after capturing an objective, and the enemy have vehicles to help defend the objectives. The players have respawn waves if they die. The enemy similarly have waves of reinforcements. The number of enemy changes based upon the number of players and friendly AI. As such, I recommend that solo players use a few AI as well to keep the balance. Our group has played quite a bit with 3 to 4 players and found it challenging but very fun.

Features:
  • Randomly generated missions
  • Combined arms play: vehicles to transport to the objectives and to protect them, but only infantry can capture the objectives.
  • Playable solo, solo with AI, coop, or coop with AI
  • Choose your and enemy factions as well as which faction/side/dlc the vehicles will be choosen from.
  • Virtual Arsenal (full or limited)
  • Many parameters to alter the gameplay to make it easier/harder/faster/slower/etc

Game Details
Many details can be found in the briefing once in the mission. You can find hints as well as a description of all the parameters that can be adjusted to change gameplay.

Objectives: There can be three objective types: capture, capture and hold, or destroy ammo cache. A mission can have between 1 and 10 objectives (chosen using the parameters -see below).
Completing objectives will
  • trigger a respawn for any downed friendlies
  • create a vehicle spawn point
  • add some respawn waves (see below),
  • open up a nearby arsenal crate (see below)
To capture a point, you must be on foot, within 10m and outnumber the enemy. Enemy within 20m can block your progress.

Vehicles: Each spawn point will have a vehicle spawn area. There will usually be one helicopter, one tank/apc, two vehicles, and 3 or more quad bikes. You can choose where the vehicles are choosen by. Either 'Any', or 'Side' (any BLUFOR vehicle for instance), or 'Faction' (only 'Nato' vehicles for instance), or choose by DLC ('Arma 3', 'Contact/Livonia', '@CUP vehicles', 'SOG Prairie Fire', etc based on which dlc/mods you have loaded.

Arsenal Crates: You will get an arsenal crate at the start of the game and after completing each objective. To enter the arsenal just approach the crate and enter your inventory. When you exit the crate, your health will be restored and your loadout will be saved. To quickly restore this loadout later, enter the arsenal and press the "RELOAD" button in the lower right.

Respawn Waves: At the start of the game you will have a few respawn waves available. Upon dying, you will be placed into a death cam that will follow a friendly player. After 60 seconds you will respawn at the previously captured objective and your wave counts will be reduced by one. After capturing an objective, any downed players will be respawned without reducing the wave count, and the wave counter will be incremented by two. If you go down without any waves remaining, you will be revivable for a while until you bleed out. Most of this is adjustable with the parameters (see below)

If you are playing with AI, they will respawn in the same manner, but will not reduce the wave counter when they respawn. They are not revivable once the waves are all used up.

Enemy Waves: Enemy respawn in similar waves of reinforcements. Although their waves are unlimited, the duration between the waves increases after each wave, giving you a bit more time to progress. Their wave durations are reset after you complete an objective. They will arrive on foot as well as via vehicles.

Parameters: Many of the settings are able to be modified using the parameters screen available at the role assignment screen before you start the mission. The values with an asterisk (*) next to them are the default values I use. Most of the testing I have done with this mission were done with these parameter settings and with 3 to 5 players (or player/AI combination). Playing with more or less players should work but you may need to adjust these parameter to get the difficulty level where you want it. Check the in game briefing for a full description of the parameters.

This is a coop mission, so it can only be played in the multiplayer part of arma, although you can play it solo and private without being accessible to anyone else. This is how to play this mission:

Launch Arma. Once it's started select 'multiplayer' then 'server browser'
At the top select 'host server'. A list of settings will show up. Look at the 'HOST' option. If you have it set to 'LAN' then it will be a private game. Click the 'Host Server' button.
Next you should choose the map on the left, and the mission on the right.
Then click 'play'.

WallyJas, I just pushed an update that has the option to play with a 'main base'. All vehicles and players will respawn there. After capturing an objective, a couple quad bikes will spawn so you don't end up stranded. You choose the base location at the start of the game. Hope this fits the bill for you.

It only shows under the multiplayer mode of Arma. You can play it solo though. Here's the way to start multiplayer games:
1. start arma
2. choose Multiplayer - server browser
3. Host Server
4. Make sure 'Host:' says LAN if you don't want anyone to join your game. LAN makes it private, INTERNET makes it so your friends can join. If you choose Internet, give it a password. Then click the 'Host Server' button.
5. Choose "Altis" from the maps list in the upper left, and choose the game "Insurrection Combined Arms" in the right panel.
6. Click the 'PLAY' button in the lower right.
7. Click the 'disable AI' button unless you want some AI to play along with you. I usually leave 2 or 3 of the AI to play with on my team. You can toggle each slot by clicking the symbol that looks like a head or a computer chip and a head.
8. OPTIONAL. You can change the settings by clicking 'PARAMETERS' in the upper right. Skip this for now.
9. Click 'OK' in the lower right.

Hi mate, my apologies for not being more specific. I was thinking back to your 'ARMA Convoy' mission where I'm pretty sure you had the option to choose the spawn/start location of the NATO team. For this mission I love the new combined ops element and just thought that if there was an option to be able to choose to spawn at a base (instead of in the field) with all the vehicles it might offer a little more realism. So in short, option 1 spawn in field with vehicles (as it is now), option 2 spawn at central main base with more vehicles and spend more time in transit to AO, wherever it may be. Does that help? Cheers

I'm trying to understand what you're proposing. Is it something like your original start point becomes a main base and you and your vehicles only respawn there even after taking objectives? Or is it more like you always respawn at the starting base, but the vehicles spawn at the start base and at the most recently taken objective? The distance between the main base and the objectives could become pretty far in these cases. Explain your idea a bit please.

Loving this mate, really nice work. Any chance you can add a parameter to enable/choose to spawn at a main base instead of close to the AO please?
