Intro - Even Though This Is Not PoGo

Despite that you're not catching Pokemon, battling Team Rocket and going after Legendaries (and Mega-Evolutions). It's a good idea to be alert and watch where you're going.

Note: I need help with the grammar, spelling, updating with new information and other such things.

Don't forget to:

So, You've Downloaded The Official Steam App
This is a tiny tour about the official Steam app, mainly of how I get around. Or if ya enjoyed the old version, the new way of how I get around.

Click where the red circles are circling at to get started.

The Down Bar
This is what ya will see when you open up the app.

Down Bar Profile Tour

Store

The Store button will take ya to the store page where it shows the current games that are being sold and the latest sales.

To find the cart, go to the top left before the search bar. In this order: "Go back btn" + CART + Search Bar + Other Stuff

(Note: Add another method/explained how to add a game to cart).

News

This will take you to where news, like updates, upcoming games made by your favorite companies and other informative stuff are seen (You can customize this to see and hear what you want to see and hear).

Steam Guard

The Steam Guard button is one of the most important one out of all the stuff in the mobile app, it's to generate a code or QR code. These codes are used to log into your Steam account. - Besides the type in user name and password version.

Notifications

This button will give alerts whenever there's a new comment, items, invites, gifts and more.

Menu 2

This will bring you to a "compressed" version of the whole menu, but with a few additional icons, like the Library, Settings, and Confirmations.
Top Bar
Menu

This is basically a tiny drop menu, it contains: New & Noteworthy, Categories, Point Shop, News, and Labs.

Wishlist

The Wishlist button will take ya to where all of the games, DLCs, soundtracks and so forth are wish located.

Steam Wallet

Clicking on this will go to where your wallet is located, but first it will send you to where ya can buy virtual Steam gift cards.

Here's a semi-off topic guide to help find the other locations of Steam gift cards.

Profile Pic

Tapping on your profile avatar will lead you to your profiles (Ya heard me, there's two profiles, one is a "compressed" version which functions as a "settings" thingy and the "View Profile", which will take you to your profile as seen in the desktop computer).

The Profiles
Profile

This will take ya to what used to be the side bar menu from the old version of the app.

I am cheating, since the second menu has been revamp and moved.

Click on the View Profile to take you to take you to what I call "Profile Prime."

Profile "Prime"

The mobile will only show the bare minimum important stuff, like Groups, if you're log in, playing a game, and your friendlist. Not your snazzy background.

You can customize your profile however you wished to, even on the go.

  • Online Status (like if you're log in, offline, playing a game, etc.)
  • Profile Awards (If ya have one)
  • Badges
  • Friends
  • Groups
  • Games
  • Inventory
  • Screenshots
  • Reviews
  • Workshop Items (If ya can make and/or advertise them to sell/trade 'em).
  • Artwork (If ya can draw, even doing a stick figure or SFM is art).
  • Guides (If ya make them. Note: The ones that are not publish yet won't show up if ya log out. They'll only show those that are out).
  • Videos

The bottom half is where one can see the games and/or software that are recently used, the achievement progress, if ya made stuff for these games/ softwares (like reviews and fanarts). Also, the comments that people will leave at the bottom of your profile.*

* If there's any bullying, harassment, and other nasty things, just go to your settings and toggle on who will comment/no comments.
Guides Pertaining To Guide Making

This guide will show how to make use of the official Steam app on the go.

Other Apps
(self-note: Add a fanart of a fake app).
Here's the list of the much needed apps that work in conjuncture with the official Steam app.

  • Steam Chat
  • Steam Link

Honorable Mentions

These apps are way more optional, just extra fun, and/or doesn't pretain to the Steam app but are just as important.

  • Last Pass and/or It's Rivals - To give your Steam account an extra layer of protection and worth the money, since there's rare cases of hackers bypassing Steam's safe guards and hijacking accounts.
  • DOTA Pro Circuit - This mobile app just keeps track of the esports scene.
  • Ubisoft Connect app - Just for Ubisoft Connect/Uplay intents and purposes. Also, to keep track of the Ubisoft games. It doesn't have much stuff, if you're comparing it to Steam and the Battle Dot Net official apps, but it gets the basics done.
Steam App Review - Director's Cut
Rated: 🍙🍙🍙🍙🍙🍙

Note: I only gave the Steam app 6/10 rice rolls, because this is a bit cluncky and a water down mobile phone version of the main website.

I love this app, it's definitely Steam on the go when it comes to browsing the store.

Pros

  • All the stuff that one can do with it: As demonstrated in the previous chapters.
  • Steam guard
  • Confirmations
  • The option to use QR codes to log into Steam.

Cons

  • I heard that the iPhone versions of the Steam official mobile app is worst, the Apple phones will get certain features late or won't get them at all. Unlike the desktop site and the Android app.
  • The app forgets that it's a MOBILE APP at times and certain parts, it acts as if I was using the actual Steam site's desktop mode.
  • Ya need other apps, like Steam Chat, to get the full experience.
  • This is a bit of an honorable mention category, but Steam releasing the official app quietly on the Windows Phone/Nokia. This causes people that are left in the dark to download third party apps. - That may or may not be questionable.
