Power your aircraft carriers, gargantuan cargo ships or town. The Thumper 48 won’t deceive you.

The generator was designed with ease of use in mind. Turn on the main key, wait for the generator to reach its cruising state and connect to one of the two power outputs.

HOW TO USE IT …

1. Turn on the main key.

2. Wait for the power to reach 47500 watt, the generator will switch in “Cruising” mode. It takes around 4 minutes for the generator to reach full output power. A light blue + sign will appear near the power outputs when the generator is ready.

3. When that mode is reached, the power outputs will provide electricity.

4. Tap the screen to access different information pages.









SHUTTING DOWN

You can let that generator run forever. However, if you want to shut it down for any reasons, turn-off the main key. The generator will fall in “shutdown” mode and will cool down its component to let the shutdown happens without accident.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU INTEND TO USE IT IN YOUR CREATION ***

1. Copy the full generator, INCLUDING THE COMPLETE FLOOR. If you try to save a square somewhere, the generator will not work.

2. DO NOT MERGE THE PHYSIC with your creation. Doing so will break the generator. Leave it as an independent component. This is due to a Stormworks bug.

3. Connect power with cable thru one of the two power outputs only. Do not link electricity from your creation directly in the generator. You will get weird issues.

And please, provide credit if you put a creation in the workshop using the Thumper 48.

** Note from the developer **

If someone studies the Thumper 48, he will notice two large electric motors in its core. These engines are not used to trick higher output. They are simply used to crank up the huge flywheels when the system starts. The motors are turned off as soon as the cruising power is reached. This setup DRAMATICALLY shorten the cranking up time, making the nuclear generator more game friendly.

@Gobelet, did you run the Thumper by itself? Just wondering if it is still running since I did not play the game for few months. It commonly happens that the game update break the creations.

What kind / size of creation you do have? The Thumper48 is on big side?

I'm intrigued by this. I've been trying to make a nuclear locomotive for science reasons. Why we never made nuclear trains (supposedly the soviets tried one) is beyond me.

The only reason the US didn't make a nuclear powered aircraft was because shielding was too heavy, and the only reason the russians didn't is because the pilots didn't like getting irradiated from their unshielded one (the fact it irradiated everything it flew over as well was almost a bonus considering it's unlimited flight range).

Indeed Moe, I tested your values and it work in standalone mode. The only difference is that the fission chamber and boilers run warmer. No problem there.

I did not find the time to test it out with the copy paste though, but you said it is working. As soon as I have an hour, I will test it out fully and do an update if succeful.

Yo, love the Thumper. To fix the physics merge bug just adjust the CRUISE_INS value to 0.25 and the 50-140 value to 0.10.
