GWR 'Park Royal' Railcars

This mod features the GWR 'Park Royal' Railcars. These were built by Park Royal Vehicles of London in 1934. Only 4 were built (1 Prototype and 3 Production units), but some of them managed to outlast some of the other, much younger, GWR Railcars, with the last unit removed from public service in 1958 and preserved not long after.

These units had two driving cabs at either end, with seating for passengers in-between, as well as 2 lavatories, a guards van, and best of all, a bar.

Travelling in a single car unit would never be this luxurious ever again.

These units were superseded by the BR Class 121 & 122 Bubble Cars.


v1.0 - Mod released to the workshop.

v1.1 - Major update :
- New and improved mesh, including the addition of missing details like horns, and fixing many UV map issues.

- New 'modified' mesh used from 1938, including the addition of buffer steps, lamp brackets and bogie cutouts in the valances.

- New and improved textures, including a brand new normal map to bring in more detail. This also brings in the 'replacement' for the old debranded livery in the form of the Post-War Hawksworth livery, as well as the addition of a modified 1934 livery for the 1938 'modified' body mesh.

- A new klaxon horn sound for the original 1934 livery.

- Refined start and end dates (specially with the addition of the new liveries).

- Improved the performance of the railcar by giving it 260 hp (2 130 hp engines) as was the case in real life, and slightly increased the weight.

v1.2 - Updated all textures from TGA to DDS. Reduced the image size of some textures from 4k to 2k in order to save space. Removed/fixed any erroneous file pathings, textures, etc.
