Make sure to check if your GPU stats are accurate through this guide, task manager is not correct when reading W.E. usage, the wallpaper is tested to have normal usage as a 4k wallpaper.

Apart from checking usage properly, if you still want to, you can minimize its VRAM usage through Settings (Top Right) -> Performance -> Scroll down to Quality -> Texture Resolution -> High Performance within wallpaper engine.
This is similar to down-scaling the wallpaper to 1080p.

- Unsubscribe from the wallpaper.
- Close wallpaper engine and give steam 10-20 seconds or so to uninstall the wallpaper (it doesn't uninstall it if you don't close wallpaper engine)
- Try to subscribe to it again.
