So a lot of my players are saying the turtles are just errors, is there something that's required to run this mod?
Selbod 26 Mar, 2022 @ 1:49am
Was the "stuck in air"-bug ever fixed?
The weapon alongside with the Banana Bomb and all the different health, poison and bomb stations all get stuck mid air when thrown.
I don't really get the "you don't have CSS"-explanation because everything else works properly on my server. Every weapon or normal grenade drops and flies normally.
Do you have a solution yet?

This is genius! @DarkSaber I could port it for sandbox and upload it to workshop if it's okay with the original author.

It might be different from the other grenades as the turtle prop is the physics model.
sCop3SCouT 25 Oct, 2013 @ 4:03pm
The weird thing is that I have css grenades and even some grenade from the workshop that both of them act like css grenades , but maybe mount will fix the freeze in middle air
sCop3SCouT 25 Oct, 2013 @ 4:02pm
Maybe I should mount css on the gmod server , I'll check it and answer back :)
TheTrueLor  [author] 25 Oct, 2013 @ 3:16pm
Ensure that the server has CSS content properly installed. When the object gets stuck in midair that means that the content needed for physics does not exist serverside.
sCop3SCouT 25 Oct, 2013 @ 8:08am
The turtles grenade are stuck in mid air while thrown (Which means turtles will spawn in the location the player throwed the grenade , and not where he aimed at ) Any solution for that?
TheTrueLor  [author] 22 Oct, 2013 @ 7:15pm
I could actually. If I have time, I should be able to whip something up sometime this week.
CrustyClarinet 21 Oct, 2013 @ 7:40pm
I love this weapon. Is there any way you can make it compatible for sandbox?
cowabunghole 29 Sep, 2013 @ 3:39pm
Volcanus, you need to install both a .vmt and .vtf to allow for icons on custom weapons. There's a tutorial on Urgain's website.
Volcanus 4 Sep, 2013 @ 12:55pm
hey, I installed this on my server and this (as well as a number of other t-only weapons I added) have no icon in the t-menu, just a load of black and purple pixels. Anybody know why this is? thanks.
XrayEvan 7 Aug, 2013 @ 9:56pm
Ah, thank you for responding! Perhaps it may be my stupidness, but I never get that shadow-y effect. I can only use or select the different colour backgrounds, but I'm never able to find the layer which has the shadow effect. If you could assist me further, that'd be awesome! Thanks!
TheTrueLor  [author] 7 Aug, 2013 @ 6:01pm
Are you referring to the icon image itself, or the manner in which it is rendered in game? I did not make the icon, so I don't know the approach that was taking in that respect. As for the actual rendering, I just used the ttt weapon base, which is explained on badking's webpage.
XrayEvan 6 Aug, 2013 @ 7:20pm
Hello!
May I ask how you got the shadow effect to work on the icon? I can't seem to get it for my works.
Any help will be mightily appreciated!
tfti.mbn 6 Aug, 2013 @ 3:26am
You don't have CS:S contented installed on your server, that's why.
KingPoop 5 Aug, 2013 @ 11:41pm
I too am having the same issue as infinity with the turtlenade being frozen in mid air.
TRAKIEZ 21 Jul, 2013 @ 5:41am
coooooooooooooooooooooollllllll thanks so much gonna have this on ma server
TheTrueLor  [author] 12 Jul, 2013 @ 2:19pm
The model comes from CS:S, which should be mounted server side. Especially for TTT.
Fenixity 12 Jul, 2013 @ 12:31pm
Great addon, but i'm having a slight issue.
Everything works perfectly well except for the fact that I get this error:
ERROR!: Can't create physics object for models/props/de_tides/vending_turtle.mdl
Model missing: models/props/de_tides/vending_turtle.mdl

From what I can tell, this stops the Turtlenade from being tossed and rolling around like a regular nade. When I toss it, it just floats in the air where tossed, and explodes and does what it usually should.

Now, it's simply just a missing model file from what I can tell, but I can't find that file anywhere included within the addon or in any of your links.

Any help on getting that file or what would fix this would be fantastic!

The updated version is available here, http://puu.sh/2N4zB.zip as noted in the description. I keep the link provided in the description updated. I'll look into a more permanent solution down the line sometime.
Colonel Moutarde De Dijon 15 May, 2013 @ 5:53pm
is the link still up?
TheTrueLor  [author] 6 May, 2013 @ 1:53pm
The download link is kept up to date.
Colonel Moutarde De Dijon 5 May, 2013 @ 2:39pm
Is the update available in the old download link?
TheTrueLor  [author] 4 May, 2013 @ 8:53pm
I've issued an update that aims to bring the effectiveness of this swep to the level of other traitor weapons. The behaviour has been switched to that of the fast headcrabs, which makes the turtles a much more serious (and satisfying) threat. Limited testing was met with a positive response, and I look forward to your feedback on the change.

If you wish to revert to the old behaviour; install the legacy addon, and set the variable TurtleSpawnClass on line 16 in lua/entities/ttt_turtlenade_proj/shared.lua equal to "npc_headcrab"
Colonel Moutarde De Dijon 24 Apr, 2013 @ 5:09pm
Thanks so much
TheTrueLor  [author] 23 Apr, 2013 @ 2:35pm
I have added property variables, which you can modify in the legacy addon, http://puu.sh/2FOa8.zip You should be able to easily adjust damage applied to innocents, and traitors, as well as set the properties of the initial explosion damage and turtle count, if you want. See "ttt_turtlenade\lua\entities\ttt_turtlenade_proj\shared.lua" Additionally I fixed a bug that likely came up with a recent garrysmod update; killing turtles with a 'crowbar' will no longer leave visible headcrab ragdolls.
Undertaker 22 Apr, 2013 @ 10:06pm
I would also like to know this. Is there anyway to modify the damage up to 20? ALso is there anyway to make the initial explosion do anything?
I'd like it to do 10 or 15.
Krushak 3 Apr, 2013 @ 6:46am
I know this sounds stupid but is there any way to up the damage a bit? Because of the fact that it's more of a joke grenade which is fine unless you know like four Ts throw one. XD that and I think traitors should be hit for the same amount of damage. Innos get hit by 10 which puts them down to hurt when Ts get hit they take 5 damage which it's almost easy to spot a traitor because they won't be dropped down to "hurt" status cause they aren't in 90 damage.
Wes McNasty 18 Mar, 2013 @ 2:50pm
ok thx

which legacy addon do i get cus when i sarch it up it shows a lot of addons
Darklom 9 Feb, 2013 @ 11:12pm
Nah, I added it to addons but it's not popping up on the C menu for traitors. Might've been on my part. Didn't really investigate.
TheTrueLor  [author] 9 Feb, 2013 @ 2:59pm
Alright, just wondering. That was a suspicion of mine about why it may have been giving that error. Have you had a chance to see if it's working now?
Darklom 9 Feb, 2013 @ 11:47am
I did actually
TheTrueLor  [author] 9 Feb, 2013 @ 12:01am
Thank you, Darklom. I have uploaded an update that I believe might resolve your issue. Did you by chance not have CSS mounted?
