I gave the quasi 87 buff to the freightliner one to make it a reasonable freight hauling loco... I guess that buff got reset somehow in porting it to TpF2... I'll fix it in next round of updates...

It seems you're running a mod which is making all stock waggons reversible, for whatever reason.
I enabled reversing for the class 86 because of something I'm planning with my mark 2 coaches. It shouldn't do it though with stock coaches, unless that multiple units mod you spoke of has changed all stock coaches to reverse...
The arrow shows the driving direction of the train.
Technically speaking the 86's pantograph is mounted on the number 2 end, so technically it's running forward when the panto is rear.
Also the idea that it's pantograph must only be used in one direction is an urban legend. It uses a Brecknell Willis high speed pantograph, which was designed for use at speeds over 100mph in either direction.
If it was only designed for use in one direction, there would be another one mounted on the other end...
