just saying to scrapyardbob the first Jenny Lind type locomotive was built in 1847 so... this is a standard design in that time frame (also This is SO good for early express/branch trains (and I usually use the excuse that the railways I build are in a fictional country hence I can use both american locomotives and or European locomotives also to james arguably the US was right behind the UK look up tom thumb and the B&O Atlantic which was the first It is in fact "the first commercially successful and practical American built locomotive and class prototype" which is directly by the looks of it descended from tom thumb not to mention the first tender locomotive
4-4-0 was built in the US more than a decade earlier than the first tank engine variant
(1836 and 1849 respectively)

Another update: Added cabbed versions of both engines, tweaked the mesh of the Craven tank with some added details and made some slight texture adjustments.

Updated with some slight tweaks - the textures are a little less saturated and some minor tweaks have been made to the mesh. I've also added a 2-2-2 well tank based on the same shape and style.

The UK was ahead of most countries at the time since they got a head start of like 20 years or so

Feels out of place compared to the rest of the 1850 stock engines, less so in 1860-1865. Maybe the starting year of 1850 is too aggressive/unbalanced and a start in 1860 would fit better.

UPDATE: Added some extra placement functionality. Assets will now be able to be tilted using the o,p,[, and ] keys.

UPDATE: Some slight mesh edits (most noticable, the 'weather board' visor is wider and with larger viewports now and the wheel covers for the driving wheel now have new detailing), some texture changes (repainted some area, including the driving wheel cover to be more historically accurate).

Also, there are now animated coupling rods since I felt the underbody of the locomotive looked a bit empty. It's not that noticable, but it and the new wheel covers make it feel significantly less static while running.

UPDATE: Tweaked the stats a little to reflect some information I stumbled across. Top speed has been increased to 80kph, up from 64kph, and power has been increased from 150kw to 200 kw.
