@This my duty! - I'm taking a look at the weapon scripts, and the only thing that might be unintentional is that the shovel doesn't have knockback. It's already the strongest blunt melee, so that was potentially done to balance it/avoid making other blunt melees obsolete, but since I didn't work on the melees I'll bring up a discussion about all this. With the recent sharp melee death animation fix by Cuba it might be worth discussing melees as a whole with the team.

@This my duty! - Because these things aren't broken. The Tonfa, Crowbar and Pitchfork were already fixed over 2 years ago, and the Shovel is not supposed to be a sharp melee so it's already working correctly.

It's a script that edits the shovel so the conflict is with the shovel script, T626.

@Diamond The biggest thing I'm wondering about is that does this mod of yours do the same as https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2609387430? Because when I installed both of them, they glowed red and conflicted. But I don't believe they caused my game to crash. I was wondering if it was safe to still play with both if them on?

can you fix the shovel bug when jumping? i've noticed that when you jump the shovel comes out of the hand holding position of the shovel or the hand holding the shovel disconnects from the shovel and finger clipping when holding it

The New Haircut Achievement is fucked up beyond belief for me, axe, crowbar, pitchfork, shovel or whatever it is, i could not fucking unlock it.

Patch notes in October 22 mention that Crowbar and Pitchfork are now slash damage, they probably fixed the gibbing issue but forgot something else for the crowbar.

Don't think the Shovel or Crowbar got fixed yet. Wasn't able to get the New Haircut achievement with the Crowbar or Shovel yesterday. Was able to get it with the pitchfork though.

There's a patch note that says Crowbar and Pitchfork are now slash damage only

The CSS Knife wasn't broken they just nerf it so it wouldn't be so broken.

Took them long enough so I was hoping that they fixed that weird knife problem. Just curious Diamond do you have any idea what could be the problem that causes the css knife to only cut limbs? Have you tested it out maybe? The weirdest thing is that when I pull out the knife on tumtara 6.7 version the knife uses the same hitrays like the way knife worked pre last stand update, but I cannot find anything in scripts that dissallows it to make cuts on torso parts like other melee weapons.

Yeah i've noticed, however this still adds the knock back effect and cuts infected with shovel.

A bit strange, in the last stand update trailer, the pitchfork decapitates and gibs the infected, but in the ingame does not do that, anyway, good work on this one.

Why the devs did that to the Meeles man? Btw, I just noticed that the gibing from the weapons act strange now, the bullets of the shotgun by example, they tear off arms when I aim at the chest of an infected, you have to be very precise to make a hole in the chest now, before that did not happen, also other weapons have rare updates, like the knife, which now only cuts arms and legs when before it used to cut everything and left marks like the machete (actually I would prefer that it only left marks because realistically a knife should not be able to cut arms or legs but nevermind), sometimes when you shoot an infected at medium distance you don't leave any holes of any kind, I tried it even with the awp with the same result, which makes me wonder why they destroyed the game's dismemberment system like that with this last update?

I cannot just make the shovel destroy heads, it's either destroy heads and cut body, none or only dismemberment.

Great fix!! Hope they get to restore them soon!! The only thing i'd like to say is if it would be possible to just destroy the heads with the shovel? I'm not saying is impossible to cut arms and legs with one, just saying it would look more "realistic" that way, from my point of view anyway.

Neat, thanks for doing that. It is like really weird. On normal maps and newest version Tumtara I get new hit rays and no damage on torso, so far that if I carefully hit them in the back they just fall down with no damage on them, but if I open up older 6.7 version of Tumtara everything works as intended and the cs knife slashes like machete and other bladed stuff.

Oh one interesting thing I would like to ask you while you are at it, can you check out the css knife? For some reason the Last Stand update made it stop making cuts on the torso and such, but still cut off limbs. Last Stand edited it's hit rays, so they are no longer only horizontal but it is more like a upper left to downwards right side of the screen slash. And here is what confuses me about it, I had older version of Tumtara (6.7) before the Last Stand update, and the knife on that map has the old type of horizontal slashes and it also cuts infected torsos as well. I've checked the scripts and I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, although I am not a skilled modder, I just made like a couple of edits of already existing mods for personal use and a couple sound mods (I am finishing a sound replacer mod for pitchfork and shovel to make them sound more vanilla friendly, like the way other metallic weapons still sound metallic even when hitting infected etc).

Oh that flag was from way before the Last Stand, I know about that. It isn't either a slashing or clubbing weapon. Btw I was just fooling around with your mod and disabling decapitation on shovel, letting it cause damage like the crowbar, not sure what I prefer more both are fun.

For some weird reason after the latest bug fix update some of the melee weapons got new damage_flags that didn't make sense, for example the tonfa has damage flags of 128 and 4, meaning it can cut infected and knock them back.. :P

I really don't understand how this happened, I'll add tonfa fix in update.
