Howdy! Any ETA on a release date?
Hei  [author] 29 Oct, 2022 @ 11:17am
Worst of all, either im missing the option to remove the mod tags (Which is very possible) or steam simply doesnt allow us to control tags! Either way the new redundancy patch will be a separate mod and out within a day or two here, so keep an eye out.
soab 29 Oct, 2022 @ 11:15am
Thank you for the reply! Didn't know Steam could do that
Hei  [author] 29 Oct, 2022 @ 10:42am
Hey, this hasn't been updated. The 1.4 version is NOT 1.3 compatible, for some reason steam has decided to tag 1.3 and refuses to remove the tag.

It goes this

Edo themed expansion, 1.4
Legacy version, 1.3.

I will update this mod next very soon.
soab 29 Oct, 2022 @ 2:26am
It says this needs (LEGACY VERSION 1.3), but what about the other Edo mod that's also compatible with 1.3? I'm worried
Hei  [author] 23 Oct, 2022 @ 1:27pm
Eventually yes, the main focus right now will be updating the backstories mod, then i'll move and update the redundancy patch.
DarkPhase 23 Oct, 2022 @ 1:25pm
Any chance this will also come to 1.4? Thanks!

Yeah it seems like it's just a problem with the mod manager actually, it thinks any version number without three digits is incompatible. More annoying because it's a false flag than an actual problem.
Hei  [author] 26 Jul, 2022 @ 5:19pm
Yeah it was an issue earlier, it's harmless, I can't remember if Ilooked for a fix for it or not, but its no huge worry, ill take another look later.

The Mod Manager is saying
"Depends on T's Samurai Faction version >=0.0.0, version 5.0 is loaded."
Otherwise it seems fine. I think the mod manager just doesn't like when the version number is two digits instead of three.

I appreciate that, I made the mod since people complained they DIDN'T like my variants; Give me some time and I can cook up a version that disables T'S for you,

Just let me know if you want only the weapons disabled, or all shared items.
Sen'val 6 Jul, 2022 @ 12:26am
I was tripping out, thinking there must be something wrong that I was missing so many weapons... then I reread this page and it hit me... I prefer your weapon models over T's, they just seem cooler to me... so I guess I'm turning off the removal and just having duplicate recipes. Oh well. I do enjoy the mods you've put out, keep it up.
BloodW0lf 1 Jun, 2022 @ 11:08am
Awesome thank you!
Hei  [author] 31 May, 2022 @ 10:21pm
It works fine, I don't know why its suddenly doing this, rimworlds being weird. you can just ignore the warning.
BloodW0lf 31 May, 2022 @ 9:27pm
Okay thank you! lmk?!
Hei  [author] 31 May, 2022 @ 9:06pm
Yes, im PRETTY sure it'll work, ill test it later but it should be fine.
BloodW0lf 31 May, 2022 @ 8:22pm
I know I need it, but anyway it just has a big red error saying that Ts is wrong version. should still work tho u say? awesome thank you!
Hei  [author] 31 May, 2022 @ 7:48pm
You don't NEED it at all, you can run both without the patch, the patch only exists to remove items that both mods add. For example, both our mods add a kimono, this patch removes mine so you don't have two mods adding a kimono.

You can run both mods without a redundancy patch, this is just optional for people who don't want two versions of the same item in game.

It will probably work with the latest version of T's, I haven't tested it but I cant imagine any update broke the patches.
BloodW0lf 31 May, 2022 @ 6:36pm
do we still need this? says that Ts mod is a dif version?
Hei  [author] 25 Dec, 2021 @ 9:36am
The only reason I didn't release this patch, is I was having issues with V.E toggable patches, they were not appearing in the options. So I didn't want to release an update that wasn't displaying for some reason.
Hei  [author] 25 Dec, 2021 @ 9:34am
I actually have a written patch laying around that disables cherry blossoms from T's samurai faction.

If I remember correctly, you essentially treat patches like addition and subtraction, since his patch adds the cherry trees, then what you need to do to disable them is inverse all his patches and subtract them, undoing T's patch.
Röstli 25 Dec, 2021 @ 12:46am
I also managed to make a couple patches which make the Samurai mod play better with VPE. One of the patches removes the Samurai Cherry trees if VPE is installed. To get this patch to work, I had to get rid of the patch in the Samurai mod which adds the cherry trees to biomes, and I'm not sure how you would disable that patch in XML.

Hi again, I noticed that an update for the Edo Expansion is causing errors, because they made the Edo Haori required apparel for a few pawn times. Expanding the clothing toggle seems to fix this, and I uploaded the expanded patch to Dropbox at the link below:

Hei  [author] 14 Nov, 2021 @ 10:07am
The cherry tree was added in T's samurai mod, not my mod. But when I get some free time I'll look into making a patch for that.
Röstli 14 Nov, 2021 @ 12:01am
Thank you for making this patch, it makes the game feel a lot less cluttered when both mods are enabled. If you have any plans to extend this to other mods, could you also add a toggle for the Cherry trees from the Edo mod and the Cherry trees from Vanilla Plants Extended? I'd like to be able to disable the cherry trees in the Edo mod, since the ones from VPE function a lot better (biome specific, only flower in the winter).
Hei  [author] 1 Oct, 2021 @ 6:31pm
It's completely fine then, I'll add this to the redundancy patch when I can.
Trickity 1 Oct, 2021 @ 6:30pm
I should tag my stuff T_Item more often
Trickity 1 Oct, 2021 @ 6:30pm
ok yeah i just left it as dango cause im lazy lol
Hei  [author] 1 Oct, 2021 @ 6:29pm
Probably not, unless you tagged the def as HSDango lol
Trickity 1 Oct, 2021 @ 6:27pm
Shoot I just added dango not sure if it messes up your mod at all
Hei  [author] 2 Sep, 2021 @ 5:35pm
Other way around, his faction was around before mine, so I included his tags into my mod. I'll look into the third mod, although patching that mod is low on my priority list atm.
TurtleShroom 2 Sep, 2021 @ 5:29pm
That was very smart of the Samurai Faction author to include all your tags and his! I definitely see your point about the weapons that aren't duplicate.

Do you think, while you're at it, that you could include in this Compatibility Patch support, and tag distribution for, the third and final Samurai Faction Mod, run by the man behind the Mafia Faction Mod?
Hei  [author] 2 Sep, 2021 @ 8:04am
My plan was to keep them roughly separate, I feel if they both had everything the others had it would turn them into one big mush of clans, instead of two separate styles.

That being said, most items are already distributed among T's faction, it'd be quicker to list the items of mine that are not added to T's faction. The kabuto and its variants and Do armor are the only ones exclusive to my faction.
TurtleShroom 2 Sep, 2021 @ 7:34am
Are you also going to put the Tags of Edo Mod and the Samurai Mod on each other's items, so that both the Edo Clan Factions and the Samurai Factions can get all of the goodies?
Hei  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 5:21pm
I've been swamped with my new semester, but i should also have the backstories patch up tonight.
Hei  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 5:16pm
Okay, new update patches out Kimono.

Also all patches can now be toggled

To view the toggle patches options, go into mod settings, Vanilla Framework Expanded, and click next page until you find the "Toggable patches section"
Hei  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 4:44pm
Well, mine does come with a slight cold buff, but its not as noticeable.

my reasoning for the combat buff was because it takes the same slot as the Tabard, which provides armor. my cloak however does not provide armor, I felt as it was there was no reason, other then role play, to choose the Straw cloak, so I added the buffs to compensate.
Butyr 1 Sep, 2021 @ 4:36pm
That is to say, I prefer your mod's straw cloak to T's in a visual way. I personally think that the cold tolerance makes more sense than a combat buff, and is what I would prefer, but your mod's straw cloak just looks way better.
Butyr 1 Sep, 2021 @ 4:31pm
I think the "Do" armor is different enough to the other samurai armor that you could keep it in. And I actually prefer your mod's straw cloak to T's straw cloak.
Hei  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 4:08pm
My plan is to make it toggle able, so you can pick and choose. If you just want the weapons gone then you can toggle off the rest of patches.

I can also include a rename patch, I think something like "rough Kimono" would work, since I had my faction themed after a more rough country samurai.

I probably won't patch out my Kabuto, because T's helmets cover the jaw layer, preventing items like the menpo and faceguard from being worn.

What do you guys think about the "Do" armor and my strawcloak, "Do" is similar to his base armor and of course T added his own version of a straw cloak.

It should be considered that our strawcloaks are functionally different, mine was designed as a combat buffing apparel and his is for raising cold tolerance level while reducing combat abilities.
Maal 1 Sep, 2021 @ 3:55pm
Thank you for this.
Perhaps instead of removing them, simply renaming one of the kimono to another type similar clothing could work? Komon for kimono and stuff like that.
Hei  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 12:59pm
Fair enough, ill handle that when I get free time.
TurtleShroom 1 Sep, 2021 @ 10:49am
Please also consider the following, if you can:

1. Drive out the reundant Clothing as well: there are two Kimonoes in the game, for instance.

2. Cross-reference the Tags for each item into each other's item. That way, both the Edo Clan Factions AND the Samurai Factions can get each other's clothes and items. The Sohei Wrap and the Gi Robe, for example, are both perfect fits for Ninjas (Samurais) and Ronins (Edo)!
TurtleShroom 1 Sep, 2021 @ 10:48am
FINALLY! I NEED THIS SO MUCH! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Gooby-looby-wooby 1 Sep, 2021 @ 1:08am
I realised i was for some reason using a local backup version of the mod instead of the up to date. It's gone now.
Gooby-looby-wooby 1 Sep, 2021 @ 12:23am
theres a few more but i dont want to spam the comments with them. The removal operations for the "HS_BasicKatana", "HS_BasicOdachi", "HS_BasicYari" and "HSTanegashimaRifle" all threw errors
Gooby-looby-wooby 1 Sep, 2021 @ 12:21am

Hei  [author] 31 Aug, 2021 @ 11:26pm
Yeah, there are a few reasons I didn't touch it. First and most obvious is I forgot, the kimono was actually the first item added and its been so long since I spared it a thought. Secondly, I reckon its stat and appearance wise quite different then T's.

Personally I'm a fan of the differences, that being said I probably won't be using this patch in my playthroughs so if the demand is high enough Ill patch my kimono out.
Butyr 31 Aug, 2021 @ 11:20pm
Also, I should mention that while I was playing I found that both the Edo expansion mod and the T's Samurai mod have duplicate kimonos!
