You don't need to update it. The mod works as it is, it just needs a version change.
This mod still works, to get rid of the warning do:
1. go to the mod folder found in the stellaris folder in documents.
2. open the .mod with notepad or notepad+
3. change "supported_version" to "2.0.*"
4. save
:D
Other than that horrifying anatomical anomaly, I like everything about them.
I desire such an option as I'd like to use the Syncretic Evolution civic to create an Empire of Parasite Slavers and Squid slaves. Plus I think the squidmen can be used for thier own Empire as well.
