David 8? Alien Prometheus? That stuff...
How hard is it to just make the portraits? I have only once ever been able to get this mod or its previous versions to work, years ago. This mod absolutely refuses to work with almost every mod in existence because it insists on being infinitely more than just portraits.
I absolutely loathe this mod for the suffering it puts me and others through.

There could be any number of reasons. Nature, nurture, or that the internet brings out the worst in people. Your guess is as good as mine.
Despite being grumpy, I believe that I did in fact write something helpful, and not just criticize.

This is a purely cosmetic mod, so unless something major is changed in the recent game patches, it should still work.
Hint : major changes have been made. Which should be fairly obvious from this thread.
As I recall the mod broke around the 2.3 patch.
There are several mods deriving from/keeping alive silfae 's great work, here on the workshop.
He has been gone for over two years now. Which you would know, if you had just read a few of the latest posts here, or the mod update history. So i wouldn't hold my breath for him reviving this mod.
To the best of my knowledge, the mod that Raffaele has linked in the discussion still works, despite the Mod name, and what the launcher says.

This mod has always had problems since Synthetic Dawn. Most if not all Synthetic portrait mods do. Something to do with something Paradox did to Synthetic race files. It's a shame because the Synthetics in this mod look absolutely fantastic.
can i somehow use the portaits, you use for normal Synthetics, for my species after Ascension? :)
It interacts strangely with normal synthetic empires. When the portrait is swapped, it does strange things to the machine templates.
Considering the new system in place and the way you can swap machine appearances whenever you upgrade them anyway, have you considered reworking these portraits into a pack for the machine species type?
