yesterday we believed we had fixed a rare issue some users had encountered involving block Tempopo getting stuck in place, but after releasing the new build, we discovered the underlying cause.

We hope you're enjoying Tempopo! We've made a small update to fix a few things we've noticed since launch.

Fixes

fixed a vibration issue on Linux/Steam Deck
improved timing logic in Melody Garden to prevent double columns being triggered
switching seasons while playing music in Hana's Garden will no longer cause UI to appear
fixed issue where dragging instructions or flowers from the dock very quickly could cause unexpected behaviour
improved handling of resolution changing in the event that the game exits before the new resolution is confirmed

It’s time, it’s time!

Tempopo is out now on Steam!

Tempopo is a delightful and chaotic puzzle game, where you’ll instruct the Tempopo in how best to collect musical flowers to rebuild Hana’s lost garden. It’ll take you through four seasons of puzzles, collecting five different types of flowers, and you’ll have to avoid enemies like Chompers and Spike Bushes to solve these island puzzles and rescue the flowers. Hana will supervise and offer hints if you want them, and once you collect all the flowers within a season, lay them out in her garden, and she’ll conduct a tune for you.

You can pick between Puzzle Mode, where you’ll have to figure out what instruction to give as well as where to place it, and Adventure Mode, which helps you out by letting you know which squares are viable spots (this is great for younger players too!)

And of course, that’s not all—we’ve also created a Melody Garden where you can compose your own tunes, (or recreate your favourites!), additional Challenge Levels for those puzzle fiends among you, and even a Creative Mode, where you can choose any number of instructions to give your Tempopo to solve a level. If you lose track of which Tempopo is which, remember that you can give them accessories in the Options menu!

Tempopo is a real labor of love for the Witch Beam team, and we’ve been working at it for quite some time (that’s how it ended up as a cameo in Unpacking!)

We’re so glad that it’s out in the world now, and you can experience everything it has to offer. We love it very much.

Witch Beam does not miss.
Assault Andriod Cactus is my fav bullet hell game of all time, so anything WB makes I will play.

When their follow up game, Unpacking, was announced I was initially disappointed. But once I played it, I understood there was more to it and they were letting their team experiment with different genres.

I knew nothing about Tempopo prior to buying it. I added it to my wish list as soon as it was announced, but never looked more into it to make sure I was going in fresh. It's in the vein of many similar puzzle games, but it has the WB charm.

It slowly builds up different abilities as you play and stacks it's difficulty. It's not an overly difficult game, though I'm not super far into it yet.

Around stage 16/17 (about 30-45 mins in) you really start to see things come together. The timing gets tight and it's very satisfying seeing everything play out once you nail it.

I wouldn't say it's an easy game, but so far it's doable with enough thinking. I'm not good at most puzzle games, so don't be intimidated.

There is a hint system if you hit ESC, but it simply tells you a block needs to go somewhere, not which block or why.

Will update as I play more, but you really can never go wrong with this developer.

I've only been able to play through the first ten puzzles so far, but it is SUCH A CUTE GAME. If you have children, little cousins, little siblings, it's definitely a wholesome game targeted at entertaining a younger audience, but it's also really fun as for an adult as well!

I went in thinking it was going to be a loosey-goosey, jam moves until you win type puzzle game, like how I remember Lemmings being, but oh no, this is the absolute definition of the "new level overwhelm + slow unpack + omg I'm so smart" type puzzle game. Such a treat to unpack and solve each level, which are all so tight and continue to be incredibly surprising (the first time I used push on something other than a block I was hootin' and hollerin' let me tell you).
The animation, both character and UI is fluid and joyful, it just a pleasure interact with.

Huge recommend. Giant.

Beautiful game. Thoughts after demo.

This was a very impressive demo. I'm not the target audience at all; I'm a young man and this is definitely targeted towards women and children. But I still had fun with it, and feel it deserves recognition. The demo was very generous too, giving you 15 levels to play. The visuals of the game are very impressive. Awesome demo!

As a fan of Witch Beam's previous two games (Assault Android Cactus & Unpacking) I've always wondered where the team would go next... Tempopo sees a return to 3D graphics with a pleasingly adorable art style! I love the conductor character Hana which as an artist myself I can relate to. Magnificent music, but the premise is misleading and it looks like potential is left out

First of all I really liked the music, it's easy to get caught yourself humming in tact. But that also makes it kinda disappointing that there is no rhythm component to the game. I fully expected that by the name alone. I mean "tempo" is kind of a component in a way how you synchronize the purple eyeballs but it's more a planning thing, not something you do actively when they start to run. I expected a rhythm component at the point when you press "play" making the game multi-faceted in its approach. A...
